Zen? Gold?

I am think of buying some Gold so I can get some cool things from the Boutique, before I do I just wanna ask a few questions about some things that are confusing me.
What is Zen? I thought is was called Gold? Is Zen equivalent to Gold? If not, what is the currency?(zen to 1 gold)
In summary, if I get the 10 dollar paypal plan(https://billing.perfectworld.com/charge) which is 10 USD for 1150 ZEN, will I get 1150 Gold?
This Zen/Gold/Silver thing is soooo confusing.

1150 zen converts to 11 gold and 50 silver.
