what do you think is better for Armor? Adding full immaculate Sapphire Shards or full flawless Citrine Shards ? (unless you can afford for full immaculate Citrine shards). Its already known that barbs weakness is against magical damage (doesnt matter if pve or pvp).

For example you have a full Armor set with 3 Sockets. In every socket are flawless Citrine shards. The result is a HP bonus in 720 Points. IMO not really worth because the magic damage of some bosses is nore than 4000 damage.

For example you have a full Armor set with 3 sockets. In every socket are immaculate sapphire shards (not even much more expensive than flawless citrines). The result is a mag. res. bonus in 756 points. Compared to the flawless Citrine set with only +720 HP has the immaculate sapphire set a +20% mag. damage reduction (on equal lvl opponents). That means a boss (equal level or lower) with 4000 mag. damage will give less 800 damage to you.

In this case the immaculate sapphire shards are better than flawless citrine shards.

What do you think about it ?

The % of magic damage reduction is based off of your own level as well, so as you progress the resistance is less against same level mobs. In pve, mobs and bosses usually use magic 1/5th of the time (1 out of 5 hits) if you are close, and most magic attacks can be canceled.

We can increase the amount of bonus hp with beast kings inspiration (max of 35%) true form (max of 40% if sage) and even some necklaces (+5%). Hp acts as a buffer against death for BOTH phys and magic attacks. Hp does not suffer from phys or magic defense debuffs (hp debuffs are pretty mild and short lived). Hp adds more Perdition (or Armageddon, whatever) damage.

So for me? I gotta go with the citrine shards, you get what you pay for.

I have 15k hp buffed in tiger right now at lvl 86. If i lost those immac citrines off my armor, id have around 10k hp or less and thats not acceptable in my books. The only time u really can gain out of having all sapphire's is when u have TT99 gold set, at that level all u really will need is mag def, but there are still some barbs i know that put citrines in their TT99 armor too. So its off personal opinion in this case, and my personal opinion is Citrines > Sapphires.

immaculate citrines > immaculate sapphire, no question!

Between imma sapph and flawless cit, I'd chose flawless cit anytime. Those 720hp xtra is pretty useful with Beast King's Inspiration and tigerform.

You mention yourself a boss would hit you 800 less with imma sapph. With flawless cit in armor, buff'd and in tiger you'll get more than 800hp.
Imo you pretty much answered your own question.
If you need more Mag. res refine your ornaments for it.

since a true pure mag mob is pretty rare(mob that only uses magic atacks)
id take critines over saphire big time added with all the hp % increasers
its gonna be lots more ussefull if you want mag def take some magical oraments and refine them

heck i would use garnet shards over saphire ones(in my armor)
its impossible to always do the right thing we all make mistakes i am not different from that
just try to be a good person

english isn't my native language so there might be a few spelling/grammatical errors in my posts

lets say u get 90 tt green armors...if you refine+5 or more you can put mag def stones .. if you on low budget can put hp to to make up for low hp...while hp stones are never wrong for any class since offer protection for mag and phys attacks.....mag def stones is more a pvp feature of a hi refine eq...

and yes refine neckless and belt +5 is decent ..but more means cash shop and that is something not many wiling to do... taurean cloack is a must for barbars ..i still have it on barbar lvl 100...and there is so called "ring of eternal solitude" 3%crit +stats that has both phys and mag dmg and refines for magic defense ..great ring to bad pretty expensive..here can get from boxes only... but again for low income barbars hp stones seems best

    Amen to this!

shards other than citrines in your armor are fail in my opinion.
