Battle pets should be able to be equipped with gear that can be used to enhance thier effectiveness. I mean, c'mon... If genies have gear that can enhance thier effectiveness...Then, why can't Battle pets have the same consideration?

Venomancers should be allowed to: craft, upgrade/enhance (with Dragon orbs/mirage celestones) and socket items for thier pets.

This would give venomancers more chioces and options on getting the results they want for a specific battle pet.
This would be a way cool addition to PWI!

    No, just no. This would make them even more capable of soloing. Not needed.

    And before you go on the "But no one would go that far!", yes there is always at least one person who would. As a good example, Wizzeled of Sanctuary has +12 weapon and +10 all other gears. Now, if you go and count the amount of money it must have cost to him, you would know that there are people like that too.

    Not necessarily so. It would simply provide more customizability. Venomancers would still have to split thier resources. It would simply mean that they would be able to specifically design a pet to be more speciallized or well rounded. Just as with a character's gear, a pet's gear would be limited by lvl of the pet. Venomancers would still be limited by thier resources and both thier level and thier pet's level. So, NO! IT WOULD NOT OVERPOWER THEM IN THE LEAST!b:shutup

    no offense, but look at the forums some more... and look at how many QQ veno's are op. It's pretty well been decided that veno's are the last class to need more class specific stuff. So imo no, and in likely hood it's not going to happen.

    Actually, I havent seen many veno/Nix/flesh ream QQ threads now. This however, does not mean I think pets need gear.

    I don't see it as splitting their resources. I see it as an investment to create even MORE resources. The short-term is that at first they go flat broke. But with a gimped up pet, they could exponentially use it to gain even more revenue.

    True, but you could also use pet gear as a modifier for the loyalty mechanic. Say, perhaps, that if a venomancer were to equip any given pet with gear, that pet would instantly need upkeep again (food, waters, that sort of thing) no matter if the owner had a tome equipped or not. Make it an exponential thing, so 1 piece had the pet looking for food every...30 minutes, for examples sake. If the pet wasn't fed, loyalty decrease. Another 30 minutes 2x decrease. Another 30 minutes 4x decrease, and so on...

    This would be for 1 piece of equipment. More equipment would shorten the time between feedings. Make a permanent cost for the upgrade, and fewer will be able to create more resources, especially since most venomancers, once obtaining their first tome, proceed to neglect feeding a pet unless it dies. It would take time to modify the behavior, and many would lose a lot of coin in the process.

    I don't believe it is worth it to get items simply for less feeding. Although you mentioned the no need for tomes, people would still want tomes for the stats anyways. It is MUCH easier to have a tome instead of "feed reducing" pet gear.

    Maybe instead of having petgear add stats, pet gear could rearrange stats. The pet could sacrifice one stat in order to gain another stat. That would sort of be a better balance for pets. But this case would involve alot of technical aspecs of the game.

    Ah...whoops. I assume I wasn't clear. I didn't want to reduce the need for feeding, I wanted pet gear to INCREASE the need. Gear would force a venomancer to have to feed the pet, even with a tome equipped. Make gear be a high lvl thing, something that forces strategy instead of every lvl 10 player getting equipment for a pet. High cost, High upkeep, in return for modifiers on a pet. Add onto that a repair for the gear, since the same equipment rules would apply. Basically, make it so that a venomancer would have serious thought before putting any gear onto a pet.

    And rearranging could work especially since people could just use pet gear to make everything a herc otherwise. Either that, or have the gear increase certain aspects of the pet, such as an increased crit rate or increased hp regen. Maybe even allow them to get some of the abilities that the monsters have (Permanent Life buff as long as the gear is on and repaired). There are a lot of possibilities here, but...it's doubtful that this will ever be introduced, unless all-class pets suddenly are able to start attacking.

    Still, tomes rule out anything on changing pet hunger. Pet hunger itself is not a good exchange for increase pet stats. Food is too easy to get.
    Any change for pets without equivalent sacrifice would be too fantastic for venos. Even a little change, i fear, would ruin the balance of the game.

    there is no need to QQ about venos if peeps just got off there asses & put some thought on how to get round some stuff prob solved now on the topic this would be nice but it is not needed

    it wont b a bad idea but i think herc + gear will cost too much plus repair for u and pet thats all time 150k daily plus pets cant crit and gear gives crit rate
