I know this isnt the mods fault for in game prices its the greedy people, but I felt like typing it somewhere and I feel it is important to bring this into consideration. My personal concern is the hammers as they are needed for so many things, and honestly I dont have much concern for the rest of the shop personaly as I dont NEED anything else, the rest of the shop is all WANTS but hammers are dang near a requirement so Ill use them as an example later I just want this brought to attention and maybe people can suggest ways to fix it(or if we are lucky the greedy ones who caused the price hike will all die in a fire someplace but thats not nice to say).

The in game economy as of late is horible can we start getting things back to a reasonal level I mean honestly whats the point in being so damn greedy its a game stop with the gold prices being over 200k as if 200k isnt bad enough it used to be 100k that was awesome things were reasonably priced then. If you cant get gold, it was hard enough to get coin for things to buy then and still have enough for skills, but now its just plain stupid.

For example coin boxes that give you 1mil if you open it with a hammer sounds good no? too bad the hammer cost over 1mil cus of the crazy prices. Anyone else agree? I can give you two ways to fix this problem right now, one being hard is to get everyone to stop being so greedy... yea I dont have too much hope for that either, or two lower hammer gold prices to like 1 or 2 please! If they were only 1 or 2 gold people would buy more since even at 2 it would equate to about 600-800k per hammer still making the 1mil boxes slightly worth it, honestly if people opened all the boxes I saw in west arc just today youd make an instant $100 easy even if they were 1 gold, people are stockpileing these boxes cus its not worth opening at the moment.

b:surrender Do not get people started on the Coin Boxes. They are worthless!! People are better off selling gold in the ah then to buy one to open a box 1mill.

I personally have close to 100 and can do nothing with them....b:surrender

    Would like to add though:

Lowering hammers to one gold would make one gold worth one million coins. That wouldn't help the economy much. b:surrender

I think the OP works for the government and helped write our current stimulus package in RL....

If people can suddenly afford to open the thousands of coin boxes that are saved up the market will be flooded with more and more worthless coin instantly raising the price of everything up.

The best way to make things more affordable is not to give everyone more coin but to find a way to make coin more valuable.

I don't find a problem with the gold prices. In other games, "cash shop" item prices are exponentially higher than this. Anyways, the increase in prices of boutique items helps us by bringing us to find other means to play this game. For example, since we can't get the level 50 weapons because of the hammer price rise, it could be cheaper to get the 2* 3* items of that level, or even legendary items. This was how we played before these boxes came out. Hammer items are just a luxury, those who can afford it, themselves choose to have the luxury. In my perception, it is simply a question of how we are willing to just get those items for the fun of it. "Do I want to have this ultra super weapon for this 10 levels, or do I want to skip it. I don't really need it." It's not so bad, we could play without them.

It should be expected that gold prices are raised since the overall consumers of pwi get richer, especially those who farm gamma and other "free gold" instances. The more people grind, kill, do the cube of fate, etc, the more money they accumulate. People buy boutique items with those coins because they are more useful. Charms are more useful than potions. Player catshops only circulate the money, but not change the overall money in the game. Inflation will happen as people get richer.
also, if gold prices are too cheap, no one would sell gold, making gold prices higher. "Cheap gold" is relative. The price of gold is the same if we have more coins to buy it as if the gold itself is cheaper. (hope this makes sense -_-)

Anyways, this only makes it harder for lower levels to acquire such items. It is relatively easier for higher levels to buy gold. The more people want gold, the higher the gold costs. and more and more people are wanting gold. The fact is, there is not enough people selling gold to compete with people who want to buy gold.If people in real life were rich and sell gold, there would be competition to reduce the price. However, there simply is too much people who want to buy gold.

Gold is a big issue in this game now because although it seems like boutique items are "convenience items", they are too convenient. They make life much easier. The game is FUN with them. In pwi, boutique items are indeed necessary.

This time, if we really want gold, we would have to buy it with moolah. >:OUnless you're an uber coin maker in the game b:surrender

One attempt for a solution i see in pwi having all thse items event is to increase the number of people selling gold. Those who sell gold think "Oooh i should buy more gold in this event so i could sell them". PWE is trying to increase the number of sellers to increase competition to lower the prices. However, having events also increases demand of boutique items. The fact is, the gap between those who want gold and those are selling gold becomes wider. There are now more people than ever who want gold.

Another solution attempt i could see is to make another coin drain from gold trading tax. I don't think so. It costs gold to sell gold. Although it taxes coins to buy gold (coin drain), the fact is, the tax on selling gold is much more elastic. The tax on gold increases price on gold much more than the effects of the coin drain in buying gold.

One thing i could think of drawing gold away from the public's attentions is to make other aspecs of the game more enjoyable :P this could cause people to get richer (since they play with more enjoyment), causing gold to go higher. Even so, if the aspects of gameplay are more enjoyable, people wouldn't mind spending their money on gold. Instead of regulating gold directly, you could regulate gold by changing the attitude towards buying gold. Make it so people wouldn't mind spending extravagant amounts of coins on gold. The way for this is to make gameplay more fun. >:O
