Im new and need clas deciding help.

This is probably in the wrong place. Sorry.But I want to make a character before the xpansion and need help to figure out what to do. I dont' want to do wizard. Other than that I have no idea what to do. So I was wondering what you guys thought. b:pleased So maybe tell me whats good about classes? Please? And dumb it down, i have no idea what aggro is, or aoe, or any of that stuff... sorry.
Oh! and on other mmos, i always like the theif or ranger.. the shadowy guys... i dont know why lolz.

    Definitely take a glance at the top of each class section, most people who post guides will give you a little info on what to expect from the class. b:thanks

    lol a spoon class would be perfect! you could choose plastic or metal... maybe even be a spork!

    Uh prefrences...hmm... i kinda like to be IN the fight so i guess cleric is out. Not really a tank either, its no fun to just be everyones meat shield... not for me anyway lol. so i guess a melee/range/damage dealer are my only options.

    you should try the BM or wait for the assasin to come out :D

    or you could be a veno...they can be melee or ranged what u want :3

    Well that leaves you with.
    Blade Masters, Archers, Wizards, or Venomancers

    Blade Master = Melee damage dealer who can take hits.
    Archers = Ranged damage dealer who can take some hits but shoots fast.
    Wizard = Ranged damage dealer who can't really take hits but hits hard. b:chuckle
    Venomancer = Ranged damage dealer who uses pets which tank for them while they heal said pet.

    but mayhaps not venomancers as they aren't as "in" the fight since they stand back, heal their pet, and shoot when not supporting said pets...also um venomancers and barbarians be genderlocked. (barbarians = only male venomancer = only female)

    well thats what ill do. blademaster so i understand the game a little, then ... BOOM! assassin! looks pretty sweet.

    Cleric if you wanna heal and fly right away, 1st/2nd choice for any squad but always important, support class. Magic

    Archer for high damage and fly right away but costs mp, HAS TO BUY ARROWS just making sure you know this, DD class. Ranged-deals physical damage

    Blademaster for secondary tank and mid damage, can choose any weapon tree, dont go axe or pole cuz ur just like a downgraded barb, DD class. Melee

    Wizard for high damage, great end game, squishy at early and midgame, yet another DD class. Magic

    Venomancer if you want a pet, good all throughout the game but not best, can transform into a fox, not too sure about group function but can tank if you have a Herc. Magic

    Barbarian for a tank and high health, 1st/2nd choice for any squad but always important, can transform into tiger for tank mode, always a primary tank, need to know how to hold aggro. Melee

    Forgot about the new classes coming out on the 16th.

    Assassin- fast hits, mid damage, uses knives, will be able to turn invisible. Melee

    Psychic- isn't restricted by elemental attacks, uses soul orbs, high-ish damage. Magic

    (Not enough known about the last 2 classes since they havent come out yet)

    I personally prefer Clerics though.

    Try all classes and see what works best for you.
    Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this cuz I just might be incorrect.

    um...if this be your first mmorpg.....me suggest going PvE....
    PvP servers = Harshland & Lost City
    all other servers = PvE
    .....if you plan on going PvP and plan on making an assassin and go to Lost City...me suggest you stay far far away from oracle spots.

    archer=good DDer...agro puller >.<
    veno=can kill mobs without them touching the veno
    barb=tankers/meat shields....and all of those who i know are broke lol

    Honestly, I would spend a little bit of time reading through the various class descriptions to get a general idea of what to expect from each class.

    But quickly...

    I personally have found that I enjoy playing Venomancer and Blade Master more than any other class, with Wizard coming up as a close third.

    I have total respect for those that play clerics, It can be a thankless task.

    Archers are just... odd.

    Barbarians are crazy.

    I look forward to playing an Assassin and a Psychic, whichever I like best will likely become my new main.

    heck, you could always roll all the current classes, try them out and see which you favor/lean towards (that is what I did originally before settling on my Veno as my current Main).

    Personally, I'd recommend playing a venomancer. Its pretty fun, in and of the fact that you can choose a melee or magic role as early as lvl 9, fill the support/dd role in squads (reflect damage skill makes you loved by tanks, transfer spark skill makes you loved by all), solo when you need to (recommend finding squads though. It's more fun that way), and generally have enough all around skill to be able to enjoy the game.

    Gender-lock doesn't really matter, since most venomancers are actually GIRLs (Guys In Real Life), but you will be hated because apparently we make the most money out of all the other classes...I don't, personally. But it seems that it is apparently the common consensus that it is the easiest to make money on a veno.

    Anywho...hope to see you in game. ^^

    Venomancers are Female. Barbarians are male. It will forever be this way. So suck it up and deal with it already.

    Haha, I'm partial to Barbarians b:laugh Even though you said you don't like tanks. One way to look at it is this: Every squad has multiple damage dealers. A lot of squads have several healers. How often do you see a squad with more than one tank? Tanks are vital. Plus, you never hear someone going, "OMG!!! OMG!!! I JUST DD'd/HEALED MY (insert epic dungeon here)!!!!!!111" However, tanking some epic dungeon is something you can get excited about. Even if you worked no harder than anyone else in the squad, it's a great sense of accomplishment, at least for me. Not saying that tanks are the best/we're more important than everyone else (Clerics are a barb's best friend b:victory), just saying why I love tanking :)

    Why not try reading up about the classes on the forums and try playing each class in game to see which one best suits you? That is what I did. At first, I thought I'd enjoy the cleric (as in most MMOs I usually play the role of healer) but I ended up switching my main over to a tank. I really love the barbarian class.

    personally i think playing blademaster/wizard is the most action/fun :P
    best special effects and nice area attacks on both

    wiz is aint that squishie either, they just tend to take aggression(if played right)
    (some, like me, purposely take it for the lulz ^^)
    really, clerics or venos with aggro die even faster (eg hi physical attack mobs in instances) > lesser physical defense with same gear..+ no kiting


    anyways- try all classes, u find ur favorite class and get the know-how for squads (ps: veno is a walk in the park in early lvls -but really boring :p)
