Hello i'm new.. Archer or Warrior?

Hey all, I am new to Perfect world, I'm not too sure if this is the right place to post this, Sorry if it's not.

I was wondering what would be best for soloing and damage dealing.
The two options i like in a game are:

-Archer
-Warrior

I like them both, But I've never played Perfect World before so i am a bit curious as to what is best for my game play.

-I like to kill high leveled things, Such as endgame bosses and such...
-I like to be able to help in party's (raids if you call it that)
-I like to be able to deal high damage and have good Def.

If some one could please help me chose something before i start installing and playing the game that would be great.

    Archers have failed defense, it's bad physical and bad magical but not particularly weak to either. If you're looking for decent defense and damage try a Blademaster, they have skills to alter their defenses to physical or magical and damage skills as well. They're also useful in parties as secondary tanks and Heaven's Flame (Also known as dragons) is a valuable defense loss on a boss when it's being fought.

    well what you described applies to both pretty much, so why dont you make both and have the one you like best be your main? b:victory but hurry, make them now before the expansion comes out!

    Ah okay, I was wondering what would do better damage, Archer or warrior, since I've seen both on YouTube i didn't really get a real good look at those two classes. I saw a level 100 Archer doing some massive damage, as well as a warrior.

    But don't archers have an advantage, Like they don't really need any good def since they can long range, Would archers have more damage then a BM?

    BMs:

    Fists = Best DPS with -.interval gear, best 2ndary tanks
    Axes = Best AoEs + best stunners
    Poles = best non chi related spike damage (When sage), and then good at everything yet not the best
    swords = i dunno, some people like Myraid..

    Archer:

    Best ranged DPS
    Best at ganking squishy classes
    Best Physical AoE DPS (When the main target stays alive :S)

    Bms are kind of an assist class in PvP, and just a secondary dps in pve. They are also the only class that can solo aoe grind. Archers are heavy damage dealers with pretty low hp pool and crappy defenses.

    Hm... Okay.
    Well what would be best for my kind of game style?
    I'm also checking out magic, but i kind of like the way the archers are.
    But maybe BM is just what i need because i like to solo, But I'd also like to do A LOT of damage towards my target.

    For soloing bosses later in game Venomancer or Cleric are the best b:victory

    Then you should not make a blademaster and go for the archer. Blademaster is more of a hybrid class and only 3rd or 4th choice (depends on the Veno's pet^^) when it comes to dealing damage in PvE.

    that describes a blade master. you could either do an easy 3 str 1 dex 1 vit build, or 3 str 2 dex every level build for multiple weapons. id recommend wielding polearms and axes, great end game combo :)

    Going sage is like drunken sex, at first she may look good, but when you wake up the next morning; you'll look at her and go WHAT HAVE I DONE.

    I disagree with you (sorry):
    Even high lvl BMs usually need a cleric to cover their back when it comes to boss hunting.
    Apart from a second barb every class becomes favoured over a blademaster when it comes to filling up spots (except for frost ofc).

    But I agree on BM beeing a good deal between relatively high dmg and relatively good defence, that's why I called it a hybrid. Relative because number one many other classes outdamage the BM, and number two their defence against magic really sucks...

    theres nothing to disagree with, he said be able to kill... not solo. he can do ancient evil with decent gear if he wanted to with a cleric, that was kind of the assumption.

    also note, balance genie skill, and fists kind of make your end argument about their damage/magic def void :P.

    Sounds like hes looking for the OP class.. " I wanna tank and deal damage and have awesome defense with a side of fries *****". Just go for veno get a herc GG.

    How about a PvP built Barb. Tank? Check. Damage? Check. Defense? CHECK. Side of fries? Just have a cleric go get them. Barbs can do so much more than Venos with Hercs. I don't see any Venos tanking World Bosses. (Soul Hunter doesn't count. That's more of a facepalm from the devs)

    there are world bosses that have been range tanked by my friend Ast (not soul hunter lol). i'm going to assume veno in caster form can do it too *shrug*

    Nah my friend tanked all world bosses with 3-4 venos healing and bless.

    Not a single Veno, though. That's a group. Which could be achieved by a Barb and 3 Clerics a lot easier.

    If I want a BM in squad, its either a frost run or the barb is weak sauce and needs addition pdef to survive w/e boss i'm doing (Like AE)

    If you want to solo and like melee classes, just go with heavy armour venomancer. Fox form ftw.
