Sage vs Demon

as far i know there isnt really a guide which tells you about sage or demon
(only looked at first page and no stickies, so tell me if im wrong xD )
so im gathering some info (might make it into a lil guide ^^)
If any1 could help me out, would be nice

im working on a list with skills atm, ill update it in a few hours, since i g2g to school lmao

Sage - Higher HP and Defense, PvE favored.

Demon - Higher Dmg and Crits, PvP favored.

and ive heard some ppl that said demon barb is better for solo grinding???

any opinions bout which1 is better? is the sage better with more def or the demon which should give moderate dmg(?). and now im talking bout both pve and pvp, i want te be able to grind solo but also to give some normal dmg, so which1 should be better for me?

and some other questions:
-if i see the skills, i think sage got more base att, but demon more crit, so which1 does give most dmg over time?
-since there is a difference in attack, that should make one of em kill faster, does that lower sage/demons repairbills? or is there no difference?
-which do you prefer? and why?

Kinda seems like you have asked the same question worded differently few times there.

PVE is what you are reffering to when u ask about solo grinding. If you are killing mobs that aren't other players thats considered enviroment which is the E part of that.

PVP is player vs player, which relates to PK, TW, Dueling.

So I think you got an answer on that already, personally I went Sage because I wanted to be a more solid tank with higher deff/HP.

When you talk about repair bills its really going to be about the same all around imo. Could possibly mean a tad less for demon due to killing mobs faster with high crit's, but that would prolly be too close to tell or matter. Repair bills are based on how much dmg u take and weapon repair is based on how much you are attacking.

So it really comes down to play style. There is no better choice between the 2 there both very good really. Go the route that best suits you.

B. Sage or Demon Path at level 89?
Both are equally good.. Sage is best for defense, Demon is best for damage dealing. Choose which one you ll do more of.
However, it's also good to choose the one that will balance your build (offset your weaknesses)

In general:
Humanoid (more offensive) + Sage (more defensive) = balanced
Tiger (more defensive) + Demon (more offensive) = balanced

Some major benefits of each path:
Sage version of Armageddon reduces HP and MP cost to 35% of your current total.
Demon version of Armageddon does 10% extra damage
Sage version of Blood Bath reduces HP sacrificed to 10%
Demon version of Blood Bath increases accuracy by 300%
Sage version of True Form always increases maximum HP by 40%
Demon version of True Form lets tiger mode attacks do full damage
Sage version of ShapeShifting Intensify always increases physical defense gain to 120%
Demon version of ShapeShifting Intensify gives a critical hit rate increase of 2%
Sage version of Beast King's Inspiration increases duration to 1 hour
Demon version of Beast King's Inspiration lets affected party members gain 50% more Chi

well, im gonna pick DEMON when ill have to choose

simply cuz i think it will balance out my tank build b:victory

i also think that choose the demon path will open a new way to play the barb, unleashing the full power of the tiger b:coolb:chuckle

it will make a whole lot more fun to have still HIGH HP and and nice FULL CRIT combos

I know what the op is going through, it is difficult to choose a path. The good news is it is difficult because both paths sound really great. I have decided to go demon. Wanna know how i chose? Some really good demon skill books were really cheep in the auction house. Of course, im not lvl 89 yet, so I suppose I could always sell them and go sage. b:laugh

When i choose to go sage barb i did it for the fact that nothing can survive as much punishment from players or mobs as a sage barb in tiger. I don't do much anymore except my bh and sometimes gv so for me sage was the right choice for me, that being said though there are many times during pk wars that I ask myself if I should have gone demon instead so I offer u this advice b:victory

If you still can not decide which to go when you hit 89 go demon, your not going be any less of a tank then you were pre 89 and pk will become much more fun when after dropping your onslaught your criting almost every other hit depending on your build.

Now with all that said time to show off the fruits of my labor as a sage barb b:pleased

plz note though that the equipped chest, legs, arms, and necky all belong to Daikoku so sadly this will probably be the last time my hp is this high in tiger for awhile

b:sad so for now i have to settle for having 3k less hp in tiger with my gearb:surrender

For solo grinding on mobs and for PvP pick demon. You really cant beat the full tigerform damage (which is great fro grinding).

For tanking pick sage. By tanking I mean TT/FB/BH/FC/RB. The added HP and pdef helps on the big bad bosses. Also sage barbs generally don't have chi problems anymore (since a lot of our skills are geared for saving chi) which imho makes sage a overall cheaper tank.

I chose sage. I like always having full chi, (almost) never dieing, and I cant wait to get sage sunder b:dirty.
Though the demon skills are awesome and the skillbooks cheaper (on HT anyways) I just didn't want to spend a fortune on refining my gear to +6 and more.
