I want UK to win but in the case of USA playing very well the last 2 years I am going to say that they will come out with the victory.

Soccer is a great sport, but it follows hockey for supreme greatness.

England has always been a force in soccer but it the past few years US has made a great squad and made good advance in their game. So US 2-England 1 Im sure will be the outcome of the match.

On Topic: Best new thread in a long time b:victory There are no "easy" groups but considering how it could have gone, I think both teams are just lucky to be facing one another as both have a realistic chance to pull off a victory....should be a good match.

I have not had time to follow football (a.k.a. soccer) much this past year, so I do not know the status of the players. However, I will predict England to win 2-1. Why? ...because they will be under the most pressure to perform...particularly against the Americans...their pride is at stake b:chuckle

Dude the only way for the US to beat England is put USA shirts on brazillians, your best bet is they get a draw, other than that Englands a winner and not only that England will top group C

I follow soccer from all parts of the world and know pretty well what I'm talking about. I don't just throw a random number. Yes, England is under a lot of pressure and US always does well when it comes to them being the under dog. I like England soccer for what it represents but that doesn't mean that US has not had a very great advancement in their game.
(Still think that the winner will be from South America b:laugh)

I was watching the drawing live too. It was a nice surprise that my country's team will play vs South Africa on the opening match. The only thing the worries me is that Mexico has always lost vs France in world cupsb:sweat

Btw: France cheated Ireland (qq for Ireland)

Yeah that does suck for Ireland, but good luck Mexico.

I do feel like there is more pressure on England to win that game. A lot of American people (probably some of the players as well) look at that group as USA taking second place and making it to the next round.
Historically though, the US does very well against England. Those damn redcoats got nothing on us.

As far as a south american winner, the only really strong team from south america right now is Brazil, who as always are going to be good competition for the cup. Argentina has a good team, but the terrible coach is driving them into the ground. They barely qualified for the world cup at all. If they can turn something around they might be a contender, but right now I don't see it.

b:angry I didn't get to see the drawings because of work. b:dirty Mexico In opening game, I think the result will make South Africa riot for a day. Your right about Argentina they really need to get rid of their coach. b:thanks Now to go put my bids for the world cup at Vegas.

USA vs England: I'll choose England. England is going to be all about, can Wayne Rooney be the go-to guy. Hopefully getting out of Ronaldo's shadow at Man U will have helped his confidence. He's got like 9 goals in England's euro qualifiers so maybe it has.

But ultimately, this match doesn't matter much. England and the USA are both several notches above Algeria and Slovenia so both should go through easily. Then both will BLOW IT in the quarter finals vs teams they should beat, due to putting too much pressure on themselves. Especially England. Can you imagine what it's like playing for a country that thinks of itself as the mother of football, but hasn't won since 1966? It'll be too much for the lads, yet again.

    Unless Rooney turns superhero.

It's going to be a interesting game for sure. USA showed some potential against Brazil. They got some real good players like Oguchi Onyewu, Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore, Landon Donovan. In overall England got way better players but I think it's going to be a tough game for both teams.

    My guess is 1-2b:thanks
