Best skills for Crystal Magmite?

My Crystal Magmite is lvl 46 atm and i haven't uppgrade his skills yet.. and now i got a few questions =)

1. What should i buy?
2. Should i uppgrade the bash to lvl 3 ?
3. Is there any other skills i might get? like tough or roar?
4. Is "Curses" and "Assisting" skills passive?
5. The bash on the Crystal is lvl 2 when you get one, do i have to buy 3 bash books to get the lvl 3 on the bash?
6. And if i buy a bash book and get the lvl 3, do i have to buy a new book next time to get lvl 4 on bash? or is it one time only?
7. What is a tame book?

I hope you guys/girls understand my questions, thanks for helping =)

    You'll probably get more aggro and damage by putting on a second bash-like skill (such as toxic mist) rather than upgrading bash.

    Upgrading bash isn't a BAD idea, though.

    Roar is... fiddly to use. Grab yourself an eldergolth (which has it) and see whether you like it or not, first.

    "Curses" and "Assisting?" What are you talking about?

    All pet skills need to be fired - you can have any one of your choice on auto (defaults to the first skill the pet has)

    To level up a skill you use a different scroll entirely, and no, you only need one to go from 2 to 3.

    You buy one skill-scroll to put the skill on in the first place, which gives you level one.
    A different scroll is then used to level it up to 2, use another one to get it to 3 etc.

    1. How long do you plan to use the magmite? The answer to that really determines what if anything, you should buy. Personally, I would add Tough and either Shriek or Threaten. At 46 you can have level 3 of either of those. The thought behind Shriek is, it would have a 60% chance of interrupting a mobs casting. Since the weakness of a magmite is the magic defense, being able to stop casting is valuable. The higher you get, the more you'll find your pet taking a mix of magic and physical damage as well. The idea behind Threaten, is that like Tough you can use it to reduce damage intake. The two skills working together reduce damage the magmite takes by a lot. Threaten is also a good skill when you have a Barbarian tanking, just time it with theirs, then set it on autocast. Shriek/Threaten are both expensive skills though, and that's a rather significant downside to them.

    2. Upgrading bash to level 3 will get you slightly more damage/aggro. If you're after aggro, use sandblow as well (toxic mist makes the best elemental bash for venos, but the cost/benefit doesn't make it worth replacing sandblow), simply adding a skill is more aggro than upgrading one. If you're after damage, you may want to consider adding Howl (rather than shriek/threaten mentioned above), though I'm not a fan of the skill personally. You can get a nice damage boost off it though, especially if you're timing it with amplify and sparks.

    3. See above.

    4. I'm not sure what you mean here. Do you mean the curse class of pet skills? Those are activated, like all pet skills. Assisting depends on if you set the pet to defend, manual, or auto. Regardless of that setting, you can always use manual controls though.

    5, 6, and 7. To upgrade a skill you don't buy the skill book, you buy a tame book. One book per increase. If you have level 2 in a skill and you want level 3, you buy the book for 200k, then choose to upgrade bash from 2 to 3. You only need one book for each skill upgrade. The skill book is only used to learn level 1 of any given skill.

    My mate has a level 82 Crystal Mag and he has lev 5
    Bash
    Flesh Ream
    Fireball
    Sandblow

    It can out aggro hercs of a higher level and Barbs that don't have all the aggro skills.

    hmm, really hard to choise.. i think i will save my magmite long time, and i want him to be a good tank, with nice hp, good damage and stop the monster to aggro my character. hmm

    Yea... I dont see the benefit of stealing aggro from herc. That only leaves a dead pet... No point in stealing aggro if your pet cant handle the incoming attacks

    Second, which fail barb loses aggro to a magmite? (TT, lower level barbs being exceptions)

    Plus, about 20 levels in skills at 200k each = 4m

    Yea.. you cant have the best of all worlds, without spending bucketloads on rare skills, or getting a herc.

    Isn't a herc a little to early to get at my lvl ? (46) ?

    It's never too early to get a Hercules, if it's within your means.
    As for a magmite, what I did with mine was just level up Bash and give it 'Tough' for those tricky situations.

    My suggestion, once you get a Herc however, is to make the Golem forget Sandblow/Tough and teach it debuff skills (Roar, Threaten, Shriek). They're expensive, but the Golem is actually one of the better debuff pets since it can survive lesser boss AOEs and still hit it with debuffs while maintaining high DPS.

    Don't be like me... I made my Antelope my debuff pet and now I'm stuck with it... unless I want to forfeit almost 6m in coin and train the Golem again.

    To answer OP's questions:

    1. What should i buy?

    -- Tough, and several Tame Books to upgrade Bash. That's all you need.

    2. Should i uppgrade the bash to lvl 3 ?

    -- Get it to level 5 if you can. (Pet level 80)

    3. Is there any other skills i might get? like tough or roar?

    -- Answered above.

    4. Is "Curses" and "Assisting" skills passive?

    -- No, pet debuff skills require the player to activate them.

    5. The bash on the Crystal is lvl 2 when you get one, do i have to buy 3 bash books to get the lvl 3 on the bash?

    -- Tame books. Do NOT buy the Bash Scrolls again!

    6. And if i buy a bash book and get the lvl 3, do i have to buy a new book next time to get lvl 4 on bash? or is it one time only?

    -- Books are 1 use only.

    7. What is a tame book?

    -- Upgrades existing pet skills. I say again, do NOT buy multiple Bash books!! Use these instead. 200k a pop I believe.
