Money Problems.

I started out like 2 and a half months ago, and leveling was a breeze. The problem is, I don't have much money, even though I save my money like there's no tommorow. Usually all those money goes into skills.

I still have outdated skills.. and probably will have outdated gear when I reach level 80.

Currently using a Sakyamuni Light and some L50 and L70 Non-TT gears with Average Citrines shards into them and about 200k coin. ._. Lol.

I doubt I'll be able to get a decent L80 weapon and armor.

Any tips would be appreciated, and note that I don't charge ZEN. b:laugh

But don't tell me to farm mats, I've tried that and it didn't worked out so well. :(

-Play the market game (buy underpriced items and resell them).
-Nowadays people don't grind but it's still an option if you want to make some money, especially if there's a mob (with good drop rates) in your level range that you can kill before it reaches you. You are a mage... try to take advantage of being a damn walking cannon. :)

    ^^ this

I grind at mobs few levels higher then me, time my macro right after two or three mobs so i won't get hit. Instant big exp and drops!
When i'm not active i run through archosaur at the catshop, looking for low priced stuff and selling them 20% more expnsive. Last night i bought 40 ultimate subs at 20K lower them marketprice. Sold then in one night with 600K profit.

Wow thats nice, too bad I'm not that lucky to find that kind of things. So selling low buying high is out of reach for me. =/

How much do you people earn per hour from grinding?

    I make 300k-500k grinding
Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

Depends on mobs, apo items and other stuff. When i farmed some herbs and made myself some nice apo items to keep going for 1 hour straight i can get about 300K at my level. Without spending any time on apo items but meditating while grinding, it goes down to 200K per hour.

One good advice. If you are playing the game for fun and relaxing time, just start to grow genies...if you get a few good ones with 20/20 lucky point you will have lots of coins very fast. Those genies are in popular demand. you could also stop doing quests, and go farm after your daily's. Quests are the most time consuming thing to do versus the coin exp ratio

If you wanted to grind, you could grind on Carrion Vultures near Sanctuary. I used to grind on them at that level.

But the best way is to play the market game. Catshop overnight, find a niche and a good spot, and sell your wares.

    Thanks for the tips guys.

Usually, when I do a quest that has 60 monsters to kill, I only get about 60-80k worth of coins from drops. Am I doing something wrong? b:shocked

No you are not, with meditating you get that quest done in about 30 minutes. double those drops and you'll already over 120K. Now take in account that you can grind a few levels higher, which give better priced drops.

Then take out the meditating part and you'll get even more drops/hour.

    Use apo stuff!
I've made 100 focus powder ( +50MP/sec ) when i was level 50, atm i have 20 of those left. I can grind 30 minutes non-stop with two powders, start out with buffs then start to kill. When your MP is below 30% you pop on a powder. Use Morning dew in case of low health, after ten minutes when powder wears off wait till your MP drops to about 30% again before you pop on new powder.

I tend to use mana faster than the powder can replenish >_< Kinda sucks but also note that the powder is in effect when you meditate too. So when I do run out of mana, I meditate for a couple of seconds and my mana is replenished enough to kill a few more monsters.

The only problem is that my apo skills are on my Cleric character. It's just annoying to make them meet at the same place to trade stuff >_<

I am focusing on blacksmithing on my Wiz. I hope that doesn't bleed me dry of coin!

I'm following smithing on my wiz too, but didn't craft the level 3 quest weapons first, spent all my mats getting some 3star weapon in my 30s that I don't even remember anymore (boy was that a good decision), so I've spent a lot of coin on mats trying to get them. Got the wand and the sword, still working on the bow. Also started on the apothecary path in my early 50s in an attempt to save money and downtime while grinding and because herbs are so easy to get. Running into the lvl 2 herbs I need at my level can present some troubles, but I just keep my eyes open and I do alright.

I wouldn't say I have money troubles, but I'm by no means rich. I've never had a million coins, and can easily spend almost all my coin on skills when I go to upgrade them. But I've usually got enough to buy the things I really need, which isn't much. I've got a lot of mats in the bank, everything from drops to mineable stuff, and I'm beginning to think that my best bet for making more money is to sell all that stuff in the AH (CS is not an option for me since I can't leave my computer running), and buy the mats I need if I don't have enough from farming for the crafting and potion making I want to do. Farming it's not a problem, I'm a compulsive collector, when I see something mineable in my area, I mine it, even if I don't know what it is or used for. I bet I have a couple million coins just in those mats. I'm also looking forward to farming TT mats and maybe making enough money to buy a decent mount.

    Coinage for wizzies:

1.) Thous shalt only TT when a.) is a faction mats run, or b.) you can sub. Everything else will be a supreme waste of time.

2.) Time = money; time = exp. Every time you log in you have to choose which exchange you'll make. World Quest = 1.25 hours = 100 - 300k exp, farming hi mats for 1 hour = 500k - 1.25kk; which exchange will you make today?

3.) Invest, invest, invest. If you came across several million coins today, I would highly advise you to invest in an 11 speed mount so you can farm herbs. Invest in a charm to do rebirth (best time:coin/exp ratio activity in the game by far btw). Invest invest... yadda yadda etc.

4.) Thou shalt not "get rich quick." There is a Jewish proverb about the man who builds up his money over time- he is a wealthy man. It takes time to build up an inventory of retail-able items, and not all of those items are going to sell right here and now. Don't give in and sell for less or at a loss, be patient and let the coins trickle steadily into your bank.

5.) Thou shalt spend 10-15 minutes a day checking catshops in archo for under-priced goods. Try and focus on one or two items: wine mats, herbs, gear, TT mats (best found in AH btw), gear mats, etc etc. Buying several hundred hi mats @ ~5k and reselling for 5.4k is a great deal.

6.) Thou shall not save up for "that one piece of equipment"/ Thou shall not splurge on excessiveness until thou art Mr./Ms Richface. A.) saddest thing in the PW is seeing some lv 85 wiz with crappy gear and un-updated skills but wielding a +4 frost wand... yeah gratz you got the weapon, now you're both broke and a non-factor until you can get enough coins to buy your next piece of equipment. B.) a 3.0speed Rashnu is about 6-8mil coins cheaper than a 3.0speed Laila's Heart; buy the Rashnu. A 11speed polar bear or Lobster mount can be bought for 2.5mil-4mil, while a hell hound is worth 7mil+; what's more economical?

7.) Thou shalt update only thy most necessary skills (until thou canst farmeth rebirth gamma a few times). Which skills are you using all the time? Gush, Pyro, [choose 1: d.pyro, sandstorm, glacial snare], [choose 1 lv 59 doom], dragon's breath (for rebirth, get to lv 4-5 & say you have lv 10).

8.) Whenst dead, THOU ART DEAD!! seriously for you ragebears out there, if someone kills you just go to town and wipe it off. DO NOT!!!! >:O go and buy a stack of GA's to go PK the ****er. You'll wind up a broke wizzy with a pink name b:surrender.

9.) TW is an end-game activity- do not rush to join a big TW faction before you've geared yourself up. I totally broke this one, semi-regret it now. I spent millions on charms and TW/PvP based skills when I could have been saving up for bigger investments (ie rolling my money along). That said, you should totally have fun in TW if you can, just avoid the big factions until you're ready to be a factor.

10.) Thou shall not have a wife/husband/spouse/pet kitty. The simple (and probably, to some, harsh) reality here is that those who look out for themselves are the ones who reap the greatest economical rewards. Donating too much time to a person (in-game spouse) or group (faction members, i-g friends) without receiving reasonable returns is definitely breaking commandment #2, so yeah... don't do it. Marriages cost what? 30gold with the current sale? That's 30 anni packs easily worth 27mil in two weeks; 27mil can be rolled into a 33mil in under two weeks (even more & faster depending on sales).

Listen very carefully, i shall say this only once!
Make a veno. Get it to 29 lvl, farm HAY from antelope pups. Sell it for 5k a piece. Or just go through lvling it and grind. Venos can grind very very very very VERY easy. And they cost absolutely nothing.

Final thought: before grinding, DO THE MATH!!

Hay (pwdatabase.com/pwi) has a real drop rate of 10.7%; meaning 11 hay every 100 monsters slain.

~How many antelope pups can you kill in 1 hour? / How many are you willing to kill?

If you manage to get 10 hay/hour, that's worth about 70k... 70k per hour with an alt while your mage is sitting alone in the corner with a razorblade...

Some mobs are worth grinding for mats, just do the math first & make sure you're making the most economical exchange for your time.
