As many as you want, as long as you're not logged into more than one at the same time using the same physical pc.b:dirty0

Ok, now that is confusing.
If I understand this correctly, it is legal to run 2 characters by yourself if you use 2 different computers?
But, if you use just 1 computer, it is banworthy?
What is the reasoning?
Not that I would want to try either method, would take all the fun out of the game and turn it to sheer drudgery in my opinion![SIGPIC]TY Santacruz![/SIGPIC]

For one, the client would've had to been modified or use of outside programs to run two clients at the same time.0 -

uh....no
with multiple physical computers it's still possible to "link" them together.
and apparently it's okie. (o.o)'darthpanda16: Firefox crashed on me. Aryannamage: I don't think I am a GM that would be new.

Yes, but not on one computer. Try to start another PWI client while running one already.0 -
Karst - Dreamweaver wrote: »Yes, but not on one computer. Try to start another PWI client while running one already.
You actually DON'T need to modify the client at all to run more than one instance of it on the same PC.
However, for those who don't know how to do this, the no modifying the client rule is the main (read: only) real reason why it's not allowed.0 -
so if we run two clients at the same time without modifying them, is it allowed or still bandable?
Cuase i'll do it, I will find a way and post it on the forums0 -

um...your post taste of teh fail...b:surrenderYou actually DON'T need to modify the client at all to run more than one instance of it on the same PC.
^this it can be done.....me has actually done it for other games before for convenience purposes.

yes it's possible to run two clients legally.....use two separate computers.
b:chuckle
but don't use one computer running two clients.

Not allowed

That's because the two computers have a different ID for their hard drive. That would allow people to use wireless connections and not get banned for having the same IP address. I could explain this more in depth, but I might be running the risk of a ban. So I'll leave it there for now.Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality.0 -

I don't remember how long ago it was, but Xarfox or Eatwithspoons stated that running 2 clients on one machine was not allowed. You can have multiple machines connected to one router, but each machine can only run 1 client.
I know it can be done through Virtual Machine but tbh I would rather not risk getting banned for 'skirting' the rules, so I just run it on my laptop if I need a second game running.

now what I'm actually asking, I knew that already. but thanks for the reply.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

It's stupid to ban for running two clients on one computer but allow using two clients with two computers. It's basically using a "legal loophole". If you cant run two clients one one computer, you can just use a second computer to set up shop while to go grind or whatever it is you like to do.0

This is pretty much correct. Of course if the accounts are being used for illegitimate means that doesn't apply. b:victory
