Price of a Cleric

Interested in trying a Cleric and feeling useful, but the price of it shies me away. Just how fast do Clerics burn through MP and how much do you need to spend on gear/shards/refines?

At lower levels, your MP regen and pots you get from mobs really covers your MP usage. Clerics don't really need to refine, shard on gear in my personal opinion. I got through levelling without having anything refined.

The MP usage gets worse but that can be covered with apothecary pots and meditating (meditating a lot).

You can be useful as a cleric without any good gear as long as you know how to play your class.

That's just my personal opinion. But every class has their own expenses like barb repairs or archer's arrows. b:surrender

clerics just have a bad mp usage, but w/ apotho skill, it's no big deal. as for gear, it's the same cost to + and shard gear as any other class.

Apothecary pots/powders can get expensive though and I'm just how much they need to improve their equips overall.

Also, this is mainly for PvE.

As long as you harvest your own herbs it won't get too pricey, but if you don't it can be. As long as anni packs are around they are good for cheaper tokens which results in cheaper herb yuanxiao ( 5kmp recovered over 10 seconds and the same cooldown as a pot ) It's the only reason why I would want anni packs around and I am not pleased they will be "gone" soon.

clers need decent gear like any other class (this can be skipped on lower levels if u cautious)

mp usage is very high..

on lower lvls apo can help a lot.. but u still wont have cash for many skills (unfortunately cleric need to max most of their skills which is -yup- very expensive :P)

on higher lvls apo help but cant cover mp anymore.. (can cover bb?) ..and also is still exepensive if u need to use 5-10 apo mp-regen pots per dungeon run

and meditation b:chuckle dont work in dungeons (ok ok, it works- but may cause timer pop-up on ur screen after trying it few times).

tbh i wud stop playing if there s no mp food, coz mp charms are just too expensive

so yea, it s expensive class- but most fun imo :P

No they can't get expensive if you farm your own mats like people normally should. The fee for that is approximately 0 coins.

Equipment is like every other character in maintaining. Nothing special about that.

If you weren't farming it you'd be spending a ton of coin on it. Herbs aren't exactly cheap, especially nowadays. Whereas a cleric could spend the little time it takes to grab up mats for these apoth potions, particularly while grinding, make money, and not have to pay for their potions. Win/win. This is how my cleric and veno did it, and it's, so far, the most practical thing to do besides buying zen. For clerics, potions are the most expensive thing, so reducing the costs to zero as much as possible is the best thing right off the bat.

yea i bet farming herbs is cheaper that buying them -and that u acually save much money by it

but u cant say it s 0 zen cost :P coz it is a lie

if f.e. for one 2-2 run i wud need 5-10 100mp regen concentrate orbs (just 5 bosses with rushing rest of mobs) then i wud need 20-40 butterfly and 15-30 serpentine herbs

and much time u spend to gather 35-70 herbs?
(just for one tt)

and it still wont cover mp fully (aoe heal, bb or even very fast ih spaming eats more than orb can regen)

I'm presuming this person is a low level asking very basic questions like this, but in TT you make enough (and as a cleric should have 2nd priority in picks behind barb in most circumstances) to simply buy, at your level, herb yuanxiao, and game-set-match. I used selling TT mats to buy over 15,000 of them when I was in my low 70s (to prepare for 75) and at 88 still have almost 6,000.

Actually 5 is needed for 2-2, some lill thing called MP management thought me that. (ofc in BB you need pots >.<).
And that's like 30min of work (sometimes more if too many other farmers).
But the point is as Janus said, its 100% free MP and god knows we clerics dont get much free MP in our lives.

never was able to do that lil thing called mp managment in 2-2

it s bit tricky when u solo heal, debuff and dd in same time

also killing every boss under 10 min is bit hard too without full party

At low level mediate, at lvl 40ish start to use apo pots. Don't grind nonstop, try do dragon quests or fbs. Can try get some cheap sezames if they are still around, at lvl 75 can start use event pots that gives 5k mp and costs like 2k only. If JJ event appears again then buy sezames. I was lucky and had that event, bough 2k sezames what lasted for me till lvl 75.

Sesames saved ma butt

i was in point where i wanted to quit game coz normal playing it was just too painful

keeping skills up to date sucked all money so i bearly had any for pots. i always enjoyed doing fbs but now had to refuse invs

and at late 60s i started to solo-heal 1-2 where i had to spend sometimes 100k just for pots and bronze mp charm seemd something so expensive that every tick caused real pain b:chuckle (and back then gold was 150k-200k)
i rly wonder how low lvl clers are able to play today (500k gold and no jj food)

fortunately -for me- jj food apeared which mean i dont have to spend 75% of my time to look for money to afford rest 25% >>"

Because you don't have an alternative to Charms. And event food doesn't even come close to being as effective in terms of HP. Especially when you've got 10948902840981059803230895 HP, eh?

I'm curious...why charms when Herbs are so much cheaper? Do you have to spam Plume Shell that much during higher level instances? I know level 11 skills get expensive MP wise, but it isn't THAT bad that 500 + (insert MP regen rate here) MP a second can't keep up is it? X_X

I think its possible to do it without charms of course.
My personal reason to charm is more for other squad members not mine b:chuckle I been charmed for so long i keep on forgetting to eat MP food >_>;; that is the bad reason.

The good reason is that because i dont have to click on mp food every several seconds, my target switching heals are very fast whenever it comes to aoe things (when that one aoe heal just doesnt cut it)
