It took me only 30 minutes from start to finish, including the client download. I strongly advise downloading via the Bittorrent, since theres generally plenty of seeders and download speeds are a lot faster than burdening the poor overworked servers. The updates were likewise swift.

What sort of connection speed are you playing on? That might be a large contributing factor to your long wait times. Faster connections are, naturally, going to speed update times immensely. Playing on a 56k modem, however, is likely to cause a nationwide facepalm.

Also you might want to double check you're not running anything in the background. Programs such as Bittorrent can hog your upload and download bandwidths, making it very difficult to use other internet based programs. It is also going to slow your system down. Another thing to check is virus scanners, since some of these constantly use the internet to check for viral updates.

I would've left the laptop to do its business and gone to sleep. I get cranky when I miss out on my beauty sleep.

I share a wireless connection with an entire appartment builing. And its no a very good one at that. Lots of little problems and a somewhat weak connection. But hey you have to make the best of what you've got sometimes.

Though I am still a n00b, I would rather pass out on my pillow insted of my keybourd. My lerning more about PWI will have to waite till this sleepy beast wakes back up. Thanks to all who giuided me with your advice. Maybe we can battle together somtime.b:bye
