i started downloading Perfect World I 4 hours and 30 minutes ago.

the download for windows 7 took 2 hours...
the instalation took 1 hour
and now the updating is taking 2 hours.

    It took me three full days to completely download, install and update PWI...

    ...I have the worst internet connection evar >_>

    It's quite normal for a game like this to take long, since it's graphically very expensive, and also takes alot of space on your computer.

    it took me a bit over 45 minutes to download PWI but I was also downloading 3 movies at the time as well.

    ehh about 1 minute of awake time for me. b:chuckle
    20 seconds to start the client and manual patch DL.
    then me sleep.
    40 seconds to get it all together?

    but the thing said about 1 hour 20-40 minutes or so for me.

    for me about 30mins and installing with win7 was like blub..with vista it took for ages :P

    easiest is to order the disc....at $5, a good deal, and makes it so much easier to install the game on our other PCs

    Well I downloaded the one that's broken like thrice I think. Then found out it doesn't work and that it wasn't my comps fault, and that I had to use torrent. All in all about eight days I think.

    O.O How are you guys even playing PWI? Then again, dial up IS slower than 20KB/sec... but when I had a dial up connection I couldn't even get the launcher to let me on.

    The updates take a while if you dont manual patch because they add to the game every Tuesday. The Tideborn expansion patches have been happening for months. So if your just getting on to PWI you have alot to add. The dl of the game client isnt that long . About the same as other FTP games. Manual patching is the fastest way.
    Important things to remember:

    1) Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.

    2) If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style.

    3) If your going into an fb and the BladeMaster screams "LEROY JENKINS" as he runs into the cave, leave the party. It's only going to get worse from then on.

    after all like other i have a average DSL connection and it took me about 2hrs to download the client then manually patch it...but u don't here me complaining or flaming over itb:bye

    dang you guys got pwi downloaded in no time! i had a really bad internet connection when i downloaded pwi and it took me a full 26 hours to get it downloaded. then another hour to get it patched b:shocked

    I used to have a T1 line in my home wayyy back in the days when I was running a web-host service. I loved it. Thought about having one put in here at the Condo but they want what I feel is an unreasonable price to install it.

    Well, for a game of this size and graphics, it's actually not that bid. On current version, it's only 3GB. And btw, for those downloading it in no-time; At a speed of 20mbps, you should have used 20 minutes. That's on both downloading the game and patches on FULL SPEED! That's just simple maths b:victory

    Maybe you just have a fail computer or internet connection. On my PC it took about an hour and 30 mins and on the laptop it took about 45 mins.

    Wow, that's a long time.
    To download onto my new laptop It took maybe 2.5 hours.
    Maybe it was just a busy connection?

    6meg dsl 172kbps (average) torrented, maths out to 2-3 hours
