New Ignore Option

Not sure where this should really go (feel free to move it if u want GMs/Mods) But figured General was a good place. So after deciding to go Factionless for a while to escape the BS and Drama of Factions ( not saying all factions are like this just stating how i feel from experience of last few factions) Well after a week of wandering around questing and the like on both my 7X Wiz and 7X Clr ...I really think inviting a player to a faction w/o even talking to them 1st is annoying and rude.
So after enduring several hundred unwanted and unasked for invites I thought i'd bring up a topic in here(dont know if its been brought up b4 and dont have the patience to seach for one) wouldnt it be nice if in your Game Menu...right next to the IGNORE SQUAD INVITES, and IGNORE TRADES...there was a check box for IGNORE FACTION INVITES
Before anyone decides that I'm QQ'ing ..plz note that theres a big difference between asking someone if they would like to join a faction before u send an invite and just randomly sending one or even spamming a person with unwanted invites.
I simply want to know opinions on the idea of a IGNORE FACTION INVITE option in Game Menu. Dont even know if coding such a change is possible, only a GM or DEV Team member could answer that

most of those random invites be from weak unknown faction with level 20's as their leader or something...

Yes i've noticed that (weak, "newb", or [insert random desperaging word here]) factions tend to be the ones that annoying with unwanted/unasked for invites. I do applaud the faction officers who actually take the time to ask a person if they want to join their faction...even if i do turn them down.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I got tired of that... so I just forked over 100k to have a pretty name over my head. Sure, it's not free, and it doesn't show off that you're in no faction and proud of it, but, custom title?
Starlight ftw. The best 3 person faction on Dreamweaver.0 -
Time to start a "Factionless" guild? A guild for people who doesn't want anything to do with guilds and joined it just to get rid of random invites? Offers no help, no events, no "family", no community, no obligations, no rules, nothing?
Basicly a ghost guild ^^0 -

Someone would eventually cause trouble/drama/ask for help, unless you make a "no talking" rule.0 -

hmm... True, if there are more than one person then drama or trouble will start sooner or later. But "no talking" rule goes against "no rules" rule b:puzzled
Can just tell that guild chat is equal to local chat and world chat's mix. You can post or ask for help, but don't be surprised that you get ignored.
Can only hope that if they all hates drama and has no expectations from guild, then they won't cause problem too...0 -

Hello. I have had terrible experiences paralleling exactly what you just described. I also created my own faction to avoid it. I support and agree completely "Ignore Faction Invites" should definitely be an option for people who want to solo the game such as myself or individuals who don't want to be harassed by other people or users who want to search for a faction on their own. I have had players literally repeat invite after denies. Then the ensuing 900 questions, Do you want to join? why aren't you in a faction? Why did you leave you old one? Ours is different you should join. About 18 times a day ( Literally, I counted). Great post 100% valid. I personally believe it is not a feature because most players are in a faction or join a faction and do not solo the majority of the game, or go long periods without faction help of some kind, it's just not as common. Of course there are players who do and get help from high level friends and have no need for a faction but I believe most do not proceed through the game like that especially first time players. It would be nice to see that feature although I don't truly feel it's necessary or that it would be a critical feature of the game.

+1.
I petitioned for this in the suggestions forum months ago. It was integrated into the "post suggestions here" thread and never seen again. >_>[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Yes, I'm still a stubborn holdout in favor of the old game. Haters gonna hate. ;]

Yeh kinda figured in the back of my mind that whats would happen to threads and suggestion of this nature..but hey never hurts to try and see what the rest of the community thinks about the subject[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

there is an ignore faction invites in game. Either that or ignore squad invites. I forgot which o.oSins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze0 -
the 2 ignore options in the Game Menu are IGNORE SQUAD INVITE and IGNORE TRADE
The Ignore Faction Invite is just an idea for those that dislike rude unwanted and unasked for invites from random faction officers that see them.
I wish there was IGNORE FACTION INVITES...
At the moment the only way to avoid such harassment( which not always but often then not it can turn into such, especially the higher lvl u become) is to create ur own lvl1 faction and hide in there.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

My husband and I keep our alts in a wee 'alt parking' faction we created, just for that reason, but I kinda like running around factionless on this char. If you want to park in a faction where you're guaranteed to never be spoken to though, I can hook you up b:laugh
It's really not always the small low level factions either. One pretty big one that raves in the forums about how they're multi-game and multi-server and oh so dang wonderful, once spammed me like 10 times over 2 days with faction invites. But usually the established factions at least pm me and ask why I'm factionless or start some kind of conversation, and I really do appreciate that.
I do find it amusing some days to accept the faction invites, let them get their welcomes said (especially the baby factions that get goofy about my level) and then ream them out in the faction chat for their lack of manners. And then leave the faction, naturally.0 -

*creates new non-factor faction and spams faction invites*
Yeah I agree, I detest the spamming of invites of any kind. Had a guy spam my wife with duel requests. When she refused them he said duel now or pk later. He thought he was on a PVP server. Flat pissed me off though so I went after him, got up in his 'virtual face' about acting an ****, and then kicked his **** in a duel. Rude little punk.
I have yet to figure out why anyone would invite some random person into their faction w/o at least holding a decent convo with them first.
When I (Saitada) started Contagion way back when, I did that and eventually got pissed at all the idiots who would join, make disparaging comments about the levels in the faction (um.. I called for XX + so um.. you know.. membership will have people within that level.. durrrr). I would kick them immediately. Simply got disgusted overall and shut Contagion down, now it's just a holding pen for my and my wife's alts, and a couple of our original members that we are friends with still.
I'm (Shoshoni) factionless now simply because I don't want any name above my head. I ignore faction invites and if they are repeated, I'll ream the sender a new one for spamming me.
Yeah so refuse faction invites would be a nice option to have. No idea why the devs didn't think of this themselves. Guess they ain't all that bright for being so smart.

For now I've opted to hide in the faction that i build for my mule account. Though I may come back out at 80+ or if I feel the "coast is clear" so to speak, and return to the enjoyment of no titles over my head.
BtW Shoshoni...ur BM is the reason I havent seen Saitada around Sanctuary?
The DEVs probly didnt think about it since they (the original Chinese DEV Team) built PW with the idea of working in Factions to help and to TW and such. The idea that an Individual would not want to Join a faction probly was a foreign idea to their way of thinking at the time (China has been Communist after all for a long time and emperialist before that) lots of "The Many are more important than the One" concepts in both of those socio-political models.
PS if i missed any typos...its 12:25am and i'm back up from bed soooob:laugh[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
yeah i understand. with the random faction invites its like why would i want to join you, i dont even know who you are!0

I can recall when I was a healer searching for a good faction, I just waited until people said they were recruiting and I whispered them and questioned them.
It it a good thing for factionless players who want to seek a faction on their own, in their own way, rather than let the hundreds of recruiters bother you constantly.

Yup, I have been leveling me up. I have 3 Legendary molds that are ideal for me and don't want to sell them soooooo, Saitada makes me work and grow up. besides, I am starting to really enjoy this character. I iz is a lean, mean fighting machine..... as long as I haz a charm that is. rofl.

Plus, of course, why on EARTH would I want to join a faction that is so DESPERATE for members that it has to resort to spamming passing newbies?
I mean, seriously - how crappy must your faction be? And filled with people who think that spam is a viable way to get members? What a winning combination!
Unsurprisingly, when I send things like this to them I get flamed some. But that's what the blacklist is for. Well, that and for the people on worldchat.0
