    I don't care how old or young you are, how small your **** is, how much of a nerd irl you are or how depressed you are that you never will get laid.     DAMAGE!!! not a tank or mage or wat so ever!
    U want to be an archer, than ur main role is to do alot damage and thats it.
    Any squad would lov to hav u so they can get that extra damage for fast kill.
    If u know u wn't survive alone, than dn't stay alone!

    I guess its really about how you wana play the game.

    ok you get an archer to lvl 95+ and pvp by dropping rigth infront of some one and just stand there and shoot.

    even if we are dds, we don't deal high damage, just constant crits.
    i guess i'm just bitter cause i spent so much time on my archer, leveled it to 96, and spent monies on refines (+8 weapon, +5 armors), but it just still wouldn't compare to other classes. just my experience. call me fail or w/e, but i'll stick to my opinions

    I have a +8 cv/lunar/debuff bow, and +2 through +5 (three to be exact) gears, and 5.5k hp.. pretty low for a 9x (now 10x!) archer compared to others my level. At 96 through 99, I had no problems in PVP, and if I can do it with my low-refined gear, you can do it too.

    Our weaknesses can be temporarily overcome by strategically using apothecary pots, timing your skills (& knowing your cooldowns), using the right genie skills, and knowing how to quickly evaluate a situation and fight/evade when the time is right. Yes, *evasion* meaning flying, dropping, using wings of grace, winged shell, etc. to avoid damage, since we're not meant to take much dmg in the first place. Obviously Barb's & BM's *have* to give chase to you, and you have to exploit that fact in one way or another.

    Prior to CV bow, I was using a blinding radiance +6, and a striker: glare +6 with stacked interval gear (you'll notice I still love using that lvl60 rank chest). I swapped based on the classes I was fighting, and I still think I was doing ok against those who were 95 and up (basically CQ).

    @dededeet: I had one instance where I barraged a bunch of 7x & 8x's at hidden orchid. What about the time where I was outnumbered and people attacked me while I was doing my world quest, grinding at 96 spiders, flying around west gate, or helping defend my guild's lowbie fish parties? I'm guessing you'd find something to complain about if I recorded the 9x 3v1's I've won?

    Nitpicking QQ's from melee classes ftl, tbh. If you think an archer should stay still and take hits, you definitely don't belong in these forums b:shutup

    Well said. Maybe the 9x Archers bitcing about their many deaths should consider their strategies and watch your videos, they are very educational.

    Have you ever grinded, checking T every few seconds cause you're in a major guilds kos? Please refrain from acting superior when you yourself haven't experienced 9x pk. I understand where you're coming from, Hell, I thought that way when I was 89 and 90 even.

    But you should revisit your archer if you have that gear... I'd love to have +5 gears across the board! Farm like crazy for apoth pots (I use chi, defense, and speed pots), try to get a gold Zeal genie and max out mag :)

    Alright, I'll be sure to do that! Once midterms are over lol. I usually just use defense pots, but I get really lazy farming a lot for chi and speed pots. I should get a move on... Well I'm lovin' seeing how you progressed from 8x to 100 :P You sure are a rare OP archer.

    In my opinion, the *MUST HAVE* upgrades would be the metal skills and QS if you're demon, sharptooth if you're sage. The others are nice to have but I'd say those are the most important ones to focus on first if you wanna save some money.

    I haven't claimed anywhere that I have my own tactics that work miracles and whatnot. And if you hadn't noticed. DW is a PvE server, so no I don't have to check T. Also, from 64 onwards I haven't grinded 1v1 on monsters and I didn't make much of a name for myself at the time, so I wasn't on anyones KoS regardless.

    However, if I see other archers doing well, like Transcend then that is proof to me that Archers don't necessarily suck, but perhaps the ones piloting them. And watching Transcend and doing TWs has taught me more tactics, albeit copied off her. There are plenty of moments that I 1v1ed other people in TW, just like you would in an encounter in a PK environment. More fair even- in this setting both parties are prepared instead of 1 of them grinding or not fully charmed/carrying apothecary items or wearing optimal PvP gear like you are.


    @ Transcend, in your video you spend the Adv Mystical Pages to get all your skills. I calculated that's roughly 9m per skill with my server's Token prices. Is that even worth it or were you just like "cbf, have money, must have skills now" (which is my mentality at times causing me to overpay <_>) Just wondering because I see skill books around for < 5m as well (depending on which one it is)

    archers are neither pk gods or fail ...its just that from my lvl onward the other classes start caching up leaving you with a semi balanced endgame

    most archers are just used to being OP in their 60-80 lvls

    (cant wait for assasins to hit 7x so you ranged classes can start Q.Q fests)

    Joshcja, I'm critting 9x and 10x BM's for massive damage with a single metal skill (remember I have 3), and they are rarely an issue for me since I am pretty much faster at creating distance than they are at closing that distance.

    @Kireina: At first I traded for two individual skills, then realized that I could just sell the ones I don't need if I bought them as a whole (and not have to spend 30mil just for quickshot). I didn't want to troll the auction house every day, so I just set up a shop and merch'ed like crazy to be able to get the pages needed. It took about 3 weeks of the first month of the anniversary to buy/sell and save up for the 4,050 tokens, but I'm happy I did b:victory

    Ah, I might do that as well if the pack doesn't disappear (nvm who am I kidding lol) Recently invested most of my money into Heaven Shatterer and these events make it hard to sell TT/Boutique related goods at a decent price...

    yep i agree, archers are a hard class to play right, and most ppl suck at it, including me. But there's hope... with Transcend's videos lol

    Watched ur videos and have to say u do really well with what is considered bad gear transcend, u actually show u dont have to have ridiculous gear to be good endgame as an archer its just about constant movement. Dont think i ever fought u i went inactive a lil while after u joined spec so other than once or twice didnt really see much of u when it would have been okay to pk u before i left. Nice vids and grtz on 100 and u clearly have some money so shud at least +5 ur gear lol would stop llama's bt 1 shottin u lol

    i've never played archer but just watched this video
    i dont see any timing there except using skill every time they are available, thats pretty much what everyone doing if they played their char from 1 to 100
    the only part that you have to learn it and be good at it is what you call it *evasion* i mean kite the other players... and you are doing fine at this chapter

    Obviously I don't take note of estimating time to cast versus distance from enemy, enemy buffs, skill/genie/apoth cooldowns, enemy skill/genie/apoth cooldowns, proper skill rotations, or risking stunlock/death by tanking their skill chains as I try to crit the last of their health after their charm is on cooldown.

    All because you don't see anything.

    I must be doing something wrong if someone who hasn't ever played an archer has me and the class completely figure out. I'm sure you can figure out my thought process and logic too, no?

    That's like saying "Those NBA players aren't so good at basketball because they just run around and since they're tall it's easy for them to hit shots." Or, to put into gaming terms, "Fatal1ty wasn't that good at Q3 because he just spams rockets and/or railgun while timing the armor and healthpacks."

    The point is, there's more that goes on than what you see on-screen. But thanks for telling me I'm doing ok, glad to have your blessing and I value your opinion.
