A few questions

I read crafts is one way to make money, but what about killing monsters, or do you make money off the items the monsters drop? Is the in-game money, also the same as real cash..like say I wanted to buy an item, could I use both, real life cash and in-game money together to buy a pet, or an item? Does one have to do quest, or can one just fight, or does one have to do both in the game? I was just wondering how it worked. I read I could buy something for 25 silver coins, so in real life money how much is that? I know in Gold it would cost 25 real life dollars, or game money. Sorry I am a bit confused.

I know I am going to get lost because I suck at reading maps. I used to play another game and it had maps, and I always got lost. LOL. If I can get this download to work, I think I will be playing for awhile.

    Crafting isn't a good way to make money. In most cases you'll make more just selling the mats.

    Coins = in game money
    Gold = bought with real money
    1 gold = $1
    100 silver = 1 gold
    1 silver = 1 cent

    You can buy/sell gold from/to other players through the auctioneer. Players set the price they want to sell their gold for (at the moment, it's about 500k coins for 1 gold).

    If so, I have not won the lotto, so I doubt I would buy it. What are mats?
    You mean carpet? Sorry I haven't even started the game, yet. I am waiting for the download, oh let me count it is at: 90 percent done and it has taken about 7 hours. lol. You can tell I'm new.

    The 2 million is in coins. 1 gold is selling for over 500k (500,000) coins so it's a little less than $4 in real money. I don't recommend putting in a lot of money into the the game until you're sure that you'll stay.

    Mats are materials. The stuff you use to craft with; coal, iron, oil, glue, herbs, etc. Usually mats sell for more than what you could sell the item you make from them since the same iron you use to make a sword can also be used to make an axe.

    Mats are also used to make wine (damn useful things). You use the wine to the Old Swordsman in certain dungeons and he kills almost everything inside for you (except for the boss and a few stragglers). You'll know what I'm talking about soon enough.

    Once you start playing then it's not too difficult to figure out.

    There is a service Maintence, all worlds are not working. Does this happen often? I can't get into play. Is there somewhere that tells how long SM takes?

    Also how do I set my keyboard commands to work. I can use the arrow keys to move, just fine. I am not used to using a s d or w to move around.

    Also thanks for the help on the other questions.

    Maintenance happens every Tuesday for 2 hours... I believe it's from 10:00 til 12:00 pacific time.

    Keyboard commands are set for you.... except for hotkeys. Hotkeys all you do is drag the skill you want or item you want or something of that sort to the spot you want. You can use all the f keys as well as numbers.

    Movement is a,s,d,w, or click. Space is jump... double space is double jump... and X is flip :3

    Yo'ull get the hang of it when you're able to play. It should only be about another hour and a half.

    It is 12:38 where I live right now. I am in IL. The servers are still down, there must be a time difference thing going on, but anyway thanks for letting me know. As far as movement that is going to take me sometime to learn. LOL I click on an npc and I keep running and can't stop. haha. I just wanted to click and see what npc says, nope i run right past him. I keep doing it. Though as an elf learning to fly for the first time was a trip. I just kept flying and flying without stopping. I feel dumb.

    I got a question for you Cad; am I still in the faction? I haven't been online since a /wrist moment about a month or so ago. Serequel and trazodone are quite helpful but I'm eager to get back online and kill some pixels.

    The servers follow PST (GMT -8?). It's 1:47 AM where I'm at so just follow the time at the top right of the page (next to the character icon).

    I have another question, how does one heal thy self in the game? I went to fight a monster and I did not see any heal potions..I know I can mediate after the fight but I am talking during the fight. I am a hume and a Elf. I had to change my char because my elf took off to0 far flying and I can't find my way back and I am near very hard monsters. I am trying not to laugh at myself. Also someone said hi to me in chat and I did not know how to reply back but I think now figured it out.

    Potions. They are comparatively rare drops, though, so you might want to avoid them. Don't know whether they can be bought at NPCs (I'm a Venomancer, so I have no use for potions), but they would probably be expensive anyway.

    A healer might be able to heal himself as well; some classes also have "one shot" spells for emergencies (by "one shot" I mean spells with an insane cooldown like 5 minutes). Disadvantage of using spells, of course, is that your running-away is interrupted when you cast the spell...

    Well, since you can fly, just fly back. Hit "M" (or TAB? No sure...) for the world map; the elf city is Plume.
    Also someone said hi to me in chat and I did not know how to reply back but I think now figured it out.

    You can hit "Enter" to get into the chat window. The single letter left to the text entry field says what kind of chat you are using; it should be "N" for normal, "W" for whispers etc. There's a menu attached to that letter so you can change the setting.

    Well before I read this I got some healing potions from monsters, this is to heal yourself right? I have a lot of healing potions. I am playing another char now.
    Also I can't find the monsters head points. I looked everywhere. I need to know while i am fighting. Is there a way to tell how many hp the monster has while fighting it. I am really used to playing this way on other pc games.
    Also I have all the game settings down and I get some lag, it's not too bad but I move slow sometimes. An no I don't have a real fast pc. I have cable modem though.

    Where from can I take a pickaxe or something like that? I'm a complete begginer and one of my first missions (collecting some strange things for the tailor, blacksmith etc.) requires having a pickaxe... I don't even know what's that...

    Nope, there's a minimum of 10 gold that you need to buy (so that's $10).

    You can't buy silver directly, you can only buy gold through the gold trade at the auctioneer.

    100 silver = 1 gold
    1 gold was about 500k in game coins last time I was on.

    Buy something that's worth 1 gold from the boutique and sell it directly. You probably won't get as much as you would from selling the gold itself but the only way to sell it at the moment would be to buy 1 gold and use it to sell the other one, a bit counter productive in my opinion.

    My suggestion is to just keep the gold so you'll have it if you ever happen to get more gold to sell in the future.
