So... earlier today it seemed like we (the PWI forum community) had a great discussion going (which is the point of forums, right? unless someone else knows how to get exp from posting) about how certain items in gaming vernacular might not adequately represent the feelings of everyone exposed to such discourse.
but now... i get a message informing that access to this discussion is no longer available.
Has it been moved to an uber-secret section of the forum i haven't yet found? or is there a limit to the discussion PWI's forum managers are allowed to tolerate? (please note, i don't think any thread-blocking is done autonomously by GM's; seems more like corporate policies being upheld)
My question then is this: If the customers want to use the company-supplied forum to discuss issues the company is categorically against having discussed, what can we the customers do?*

    If its the thread I think it is, the completely closed it/shut it down. I left my web browser on that specific topic and couldn't even refresh it when I came back to my computer a few hours later.

    I think that when there are certain topics that apparently are too taboo (in their opinion) to even be on the forums they shut them down? Because this issue isn't even in the lower depths that I could find.

    That thread got deleted, probably cause my roommate was posting things like "it's not **** if they're dead" and the like.

    No, it's been completely deleted. That's why no one can see it. If it were locked or moved, we could still find it.

    Alexeno is actually pretty close to spot-on b:chuckle

    The reason it says that you don't have access to the forums is because they have specific boards for mods/GMs only that players don't have access to. If something requires a ban/warning, instead of deleting it off the boards so there's no evidence of it existing, they'll move it to an area of the forums that players can't access for review.

    If they simply deleted it, there would be no way to see what was said, or take action if someone did something out of line. Didn't see the end of that thread though, only the first five pages, so I don't know why that particular one was "deleted".

    The discussion got pretty bad with certain trolls going out of their way to be particularly vile. Even Saitada had enough and left the thread once the kiddies got into it.

    Saitada left at about 35 pages. It went on after that and just got worse and worse. I had to comfort her, her mind was damaged by the... unspeakable things she saw there.

    As much as I hate to admit it, the one who started that thread was a pro troll. While he lacked the finesse of a true artisan he created a thread which tore down the thin veils of civility (OK, I wasn't there but can you imagine how bad I would have been if I were? Saitada at least has some substance to his arguments.) much like an over-muscled oaf taking a sledgehammer to a porcelain doll.

    I bow down to thee who has created such controversy with but a single post. If you're reading this, enjoy your ban *******.

    I'll stick with my 'injecting your veins with poison while your eyes bleed from reading my inane and unnecessarily long posts' method of trolling. It's worked for me rather well.

    Nope not at all. I just prefer rolling female characters, they look better, and jiggle in the proper places. My wife rolls a lot of male characters.. go figure lol!
