    No and Yes.

As you play the game you will find that while a great deal can be done w/o using the cash shop, as you get higher in levels the need for some CS items starts to rear it's ugly head (charms etc).

Even so, the game is worth the playing, and this comes from a person that has played and Beta tested more than 30 MMO's (part of the reason I get bored so easily with games lol).

Honestly, no, that isn't a lot. But it would buy you a mount and a few other things if spent wisely.
    And yes, mounts are permanent.

    No and No.

Charms are hit point and magic point buffers. when they are used up, you have to buy new ones. Once they are equipped, they can't be removed without destroying them.

That isn't a scam. That is how the game is designed to help support it's continued running. This game is Free to Play but it is supported by those willing to pay. That's how they do it. Most things are either temporary, get used up, or if permanent cost to be upgraded to a 'better' item.

It isn't much different than paying a monthly fee for a pay to play game, the only major difference is that it can be easier to drop $1500.00 in this game, than say a Pay to Play game.

me think a monthly allowance of $5-10 is enough to make you good/great in PWI.

if you play casually then during the 1-3 months you are below level 70 you can just set all of your monthly allowance aside
then when you get to 7X you can buy yourself a nice fly mount and a charm or 2 to sell and store the rest of the money for future use/possible events.
Then (if you don't abuse charms) by the time you reach 9X (it'll have been like months)
you can use some more of monies stored up to buy dragon orbs or something and get some really nice refines on your gear?

    b:puzzled
this is actually a decent way to use $$ in PWI and it doesn't even involve annipacks~
    (^.^)
    xD

but then again....you could just use it all on annipacks and hope you get some lunar gear or something.

here's the thing alot of people dont get about this game (this is not intended as a flame)

this game is *playable* without using anything from the cashshop. things you buy from the cashshop serve the following purposes in no particular order:

    - make the game alot easier (charms, guardian scrolls, exp scrolls, etc)
    - provide utility function (faster mounts/aerogear, teleport incense/stones, etc)
    - provide aesthetic value (mounts/aerogear, fashion, etc)

i can safely say that you do not *need* anything from the cashshop in order to obtain your PvE goals. however, if you plan to be competative in PvP/TW, you will most certainly find yourself *wanting* certain items, such as charms and guardian scrolls

i find the challenge that i face without using charms and other utility items to be what provides me the most enjoyment in this game. whenever i put real money on the game, i usually buy fashion and other aesthetic items

My goal is to be able to solo Harpy wraith and Sword tamer at the same time.

I suggest you dont spent any money until you're a higher level. I noticed that a lot of new gold buyers will buy a mount straight away. I suggest to wait. It makes more sense to sell the gold in AH and buy a mount with the coins.

$30? It is nice if you want to buy some utilities, like safe/inventory stones, one aerogear and a land mount, or if you rely on charms (though you'd better use one only at high levels and if you are ready to use them well).

You could also spend it all at once on one of the fastest aerogears, but if it's your full budget, impulsive purchase is not the best way around. b:laugh
Maintenance time. Please choose a line:
    - When is it over? OMG I need my fix!! *super spazzing*
    - Fix the damn bugs, dammit! I'm so angry! I'll quit!!
    - New codes out there? I like free stuff~ *wink*
    - When will we get new content? QQ
    - Will we get sales? I got a ton of gold to spend.
    - I'm bored, I'll create a useless thread to annoy Opkorock.
    - *Incessant poking on Sweetiebot* Fun~

To ur response, I have dropped $40 on the game, would u believe I bought 6 hammers, and now have to alot of coins. U can sell each gold piece for "X" amount of money then wait for someone to buy them, or u can do what I did and buy Hammers. Find Chests for sale, I bought 6 today for $50,000 a piece. Each Hammer is $5. Each Chest contains $1,000,000 coins. Hmmm. Just a thought.
