Yes it seems PWI has been attacked by 'the lag beast' This dreaded beast is terrible to behold, merely being in it's general location causes skills not to cast, mobs to appear on top of you fully agro'd. Your health bar being full, then gone in a fraction of a second or the blink of an eye, whichever is fastest.

Passing behind 'the lag beast' you find a trail of corpses of it's unfortunate victims. Those who have not died, are sorely wounded and in need of aid and succor.

Yes my friends, "The Lag Beast' is a terrible terrible foe. The lag beast is also very unusual in it's choice of victims. One Veno remains untouched, while another standing right next to her dies a horrible death because her skills and pet simply froze in terror at the beasts approach!

PWI GM's we beg of you, please bring out your mighty and fearsome ban-hammers and BAN the lag Beast to oblivion.. barring that, please boot everyone but me off the server so I can play w/o lag.

    me got attacked by teh dreaded lag beast.

    happened while me was flying around cromagnon village and messing around with those level 106 desert dweller archer thingies....
    then Pow Lag beast Strikes!
    one archer thingy shot me 3 times in a blink of an eye.

    That happened to me while i was in TW.
    I wasnt able to get off my mount, or anything. All the Npc's dissapeared as well.
    When it was finally restored, i was snapped back half way across the map, while a horde of Leg's were charging at me. *got ***** b:surrender

    It sucked.. Somethings wrong with the server. Although this was a short outburst or lag spike. This has happened 4 times now. Whats up with that?

    Same. i updated video card from 128MB to 256MB and was for a short awile being able to play completely slide-show free smooth picture... now the smoothness is all gone and standing on Bounty Hunter's plate is a pain and I have my graphics set to minimum. how could you make 128MB of extra video memory go obsolete in matter of days?

    That reminds me, it happened to me right now. I went over to the sword tamer and flesh reamed him. All of a sudden IM DEAD. Can you people believe that? Me dieing to a monster whose number isn't even shown because its under level 1 b:laugh

    I run 512 meg vid card, dual core amd black edition 2.6 gig processor, 3 gigs ram, on an xp system on cable internet that I have tweaked for extreme performance (in other words, none of the extra **** you don't need that windows tries to have running, is running, and i'm in gaming mode (my own login tweaks)). I can run the most graphics intensive programs w/o issues. BUT PWI.... b:shocked.

    its all network choke, they need to buy a better server or starting paying the bills for all the bandwidth they are using hosting all this lol

    no amount of pc spec can cure network choke, its all on their end or your internet line to their server

    West arch this last week, has without fail, at the very least once a day made my video driver completely stop responding. Which means having to power off my laptop completely and restart.

    Only since this last week or so too, I've been playing pwi for many months happily on far higher than my current graphic settings =/

    Your lucky you only have to restart it maybe once or twice a day. My computer doesn't have a battery, and the wires loose, so every time I move it switches off. I have to restart it atleast ten times a day. And its really annoying when that happens while im int he middle of a bh. Most of the time they finish the quest without me >.<

    Ive been noticing serious skill lag, or even mob lag on my desktop. Ive played PWI on this desktop for almost a full year, and nothing has been majorly wrong (besides not being able to play in full screen mode anymore without getting error report)

    Mobs appear to be in one place, when they are actually somewhere else. Skill lag, takes 4-7 seconds before the skill is activated when I click it and its on cooldown.

    Driving me a bit batty, I hope they invest some serious money into these server's and maintenance.

    btw, I live in Phoenix, AZ which is pretty close to server, and my ISP is perfectly fine ;)

    I have an Acer Aspire 3620 laptop, Windows xp home, all the sh*tty stuff Windows xp home can have, crappy internet connection all the time cuz my dad doesnt want to move the lil' box that sends the signals, and I'm in Europe, yet I seem to go just fine...

    b:surrender Pressa lives in the dead center of the states so either server I am close to and it happens on both of them sometimes not all the time it takes a few seconds for skills to activate if they activate at all. Recently its been a major pain cause if I don't go SUPER SLOW MO PRESSA the mobs don't load properly and don't appear on the screen or the map so I try to run around them and get smacked something fierce they couldn't kill me but cause I can't see were the next mobs are I run into them too and I can't get off my mount cause it just doesn't activate. So in essence can't fly away can't get away if I didn't have a charm I would be a dead veno. I don't get lag in west arch like ever unless its a major TW night or a event night even on mostly full graphics (discounting that pesky soften and terrain) and even then is minimal even in TW I get at least 30 frames a second (again excepting those big TW night were the biggest guilds are fighting each other and there are lots of people on. And this is without any make the game pretty on and making sure I only have 50% of my computer in use including vent.)

    Its really not cool I know its not my problem for sure cause even making sure my comp is so perfectly fast I can fight in a 160 person instance without lag. b:laugh And my comp kinda sucks don't have the top of the line anymore have only had this comp for about a year so its very very good.

    Er...all that stuff about RAM, video cards, processor has nothing to do with the lag beast. Lag=high ping=internet problems. Anyway I want to see your computer play Crysis on high b:laugh b:victory Even RAM doesnt really affect gaming as much as people think.

    On topic..
    Pfft pansys. My internet bandiwdth is capped so every time someone goes on my other computer my ping goes up to 2800+ (i used a ping measuring thingy) which means that it takes like 28 seconds or something to do something..talk to an NPC, attack, second wind.

    I have 79ms ping to sanctuary. Ping to the server is not an issue, nor is MY bandwidth (I can download torrents at over 900 kb/s easily... and frequently do...). The issue appears to have been created with the last 2-3 patches and has grown worse as time has ticked away.

    I've been attacked by the lag beast several times, but my friend seems to take the brunt of its actions.
    In plume, if she looks south bound when south of the city her FPS drops something fierce. It's more like FP4S aka Frames Per 4 Seconds for no apparent reason. Or other random places... West Archo is where the beast lurks for her.
    I seem to run into the rabid thing randomly as well, but it doesn't hit me as hard. >_>

    It's continually getting worse, with every passing day Lag Beast becomes stronger! The loop/rubberband glitch is becoming more active, no-longer just happens when jumping for me. Dungeon race makes it especially apparent. And lag beast? It's always there.....

    the latest few patches have done it to me too. at the time I was using Win7RC (RTM had just been leaked too) it was at 17* with 0 LAG, now all of a sudden it's spiked something fierce. 2.2 dc intel, 8600gt512 and 3gb of DDR2 ram (maxed for 32bit, 4 in the pc, no I can't get ddr3)

    Awhile back I used to get random lag in the places that should be least laggy, with no people, hardly any trees, lights etc. Then I go to west Arch and it runs smooth as anything. Now everywhere it runs fine. You'd think with their massive income from annicraps they should be able to fix it a bit.
