General Wurlord no lurer

Was doing a 2-1 earlier, got to the end, and realized we had no way to lure. No veno, and nobody had Zeal genie. So the heck with it, we just fought him.

Trick is to have blademaster use constant AOE to keep aggro from clones. They don't do much damage with BB up (did about 500 to me with their magic attack - 4000 mdef). So BM shouldn't die from them. Everyone else gang up on the real one.

The only thing you have to watch for is if one of them is out of AOE range - someone will have to aggro it to keep it off of your BBer.

The funny thing is, if you kill all of the clones, he won't summon any more on 4th try. You just fight him by himself. b:laugh

A full 90+ squad with the exception of maybe one player, we had one instance where we got all the Wurlord clones by the third pull. We had such a pro cleric who tanked all - what? 10? - the clones with BB and I think he had over 6k HP. (This is in 2-2 by the way.) b:chuckle He said they only hit him for 300 damage each. The barb was tanking the real Wurlord, for which the cleric was greatly relieved! b:thanks

Yes, it's very nice that he doesn't clone the last time... b:sweat

Back in my days, there was no "luring" to fight that guy, and we always had to kill him with all his clones up, one by one, painful and risky (and expensive for bubbles).

I disagree. It has been done before by Archers and BMs. Of course, you will need someone who can survive at least one hit before they get into BB range. You do not want to send someone like a Cleric or a Wizard to pull Wurlord.

Had a BM friend tested luring with Zeal and he said it worked but he got a hit or two before barb gets aggro

I was on a 2-3(it might have been 2-2) run with 2 noob barbs. We didn't have a lurer but the barbs wanted to take them ALL on AT ONCE. -_-

The rest of the squad said no but they wouldn't let it go. The first time you have to fight wurlord there's a fake one and the real one. We had two clerics, one to bb the other to spam. We tried it (you gotta keep your tanks happy).

    We got party wiped.

Then we reminded the barbs that even if we had killed the two, it would be replaced with more than two wurlords. The barbs reluctantly gave into our sane idea to just skip wurlord.

As we went through the portal though.................they accused the rest of our party of not being confident in our own abilities and to stop QQing!!!!

Talk about barbs with heads with nothing in them. Reguardless I needed mats for my gear and finished the run. After that I never plan on helping or going on a run with those barbs.

Heh, quite a pair of dolts indeed. In 2-1 or 2-3 at least the wurlord mats are worth it, but in 2-2??? I skip him there on a regular basis (unless someone needs the drops). Takes too long and more often than not the drops aren't worth the time, effort and costs of the party.

Clerics can do it if they have and cast Wings of Protection on themselves first. Stacking some IH doesn't hurt, either.
Granted, the barb needs to grab Wurlord after that first hit or the cleric with zeal's pretty dead. b:pleased

I've lured Wurlord in TT2-3 at level 92+ using Zeal Genie. With Elven Alacrity, I can do it without getting hit. He tries to channel the attack, and then stops because I'm too far away. Took me a few times to get the hang of it.

Eleven Alacrity lasts 8 seconds. Not sure about Holy Path (which I don't have).

okay maybe its possible but it requires pro tactics honestly i just like it the easy and basic way i dont like thinking out off the box on luring honestly

I understand if individuals rather be safe than sorry, but I have been in TT2-2 and TT2-3 squads that won't move forward until a herceno is found. I am just trying to dispel the myth that you need to have a herceno to lure Wurlord. It's obviously safer, but far from necessary. A few temporary buffs and Holy Path should be sufficient for luring with Zeal.
