Extreme Crash

Whenever I play this game, my computer tends to crash completely. I don't mean blue screen or reset... I mean a full shutdown, after which, I'm required to flip the power supply off/on again before it'll power back up.

Now, normally I'd assume that the cause would be something overheating or something shorting out... but the processor runs at a stable temp of 30-32 degrees, and I've run games with higher graphic requirements at much higher settings. This only happens while running PWI.

The times are also fairly inconsistent, happening anywhere from half an hour of playing to a couple hours before occurring again. Has anyone else had this happen to them?.. and if so, is there any way I can prevent it from happening to me (aside from just not playing)?

I'm running a dual-core Pentium e5200 at 3ghz with 2gigs of RAM. If you need any more information, just let me know.

    I have had simmilar problems, and widely ranging. It also happens only when playing pwi. The problems are blue screens, driver malfunctions, the game just closing itself, freezing, during game te text is buggy, pets, mounts, npcs and icons go white, pets sometimes turn into ERR. Occasionally the graphics look strange and broken. its gotten to the point now where i cannot even log in for more than a few seconds without the game freezing or making my computer crash. This is not good for computers and i do not want to risk my computer over a game but i do want to play and will be greatly appreciative if someone could tell me how to fix this problem.

    Erm, Aeonite I got the same Video card as u Only difference is that mine is from Asus. and the game runs totaly fine. I now have the max RAM alowed on XP but i used to have 2g too and it ran as well as now. Cant say why ur PC just shut down cuz it never happened to me. The only time my PC would shut down for no reason was more then a year ago and its cause my fan wasnt working anymore, so my PC was overheating then auto shuting down. Apart of that I really cant understand why it closes when u try pwi. Sorry

    Right... see normally, I'd assume that this was caused by overheating... but my fan is working fine, and the game doesn't even push my cpu up to maximum load.

    It could be the video card, but as mentioned before, I've run far more graphics intensive programs... and while it could be the ram, that still doesn't explain why it only happens while playing this game.

    Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

    That would be excellent.

    For my sake, I hope it's nothing blatantly obvious or easily fixable... but on the other hand, I kind of hope that it is, seeing as I could get back to worry-free playing.

    I suppose a bittersweet victory is still a victory at the core of it. :P
