What stat build should I really use?

Well, I decided to make a Archer Elf. While I rather play as a Human, Elves are basically the same (as far as looks) only with wings on their heads, they start off with wings, get to use archery, and don't have to fly on swords.

Now, I read the following below:
In PW there is a total of 4 Stats; strength, dexterity, constitution and intelligence.

Strength

- increase attack power for melee weapon
- increase physical defense

Dexterity
- increase attack power for range weapon
- increase dodge
- increase accuracy
- increase critical rating (NOTE: every 20 dex give you 1% more critical rating)

Constitution
- increase physical defense
- increase magical defense
- increase hp
- increase hp regeneration rate (NOTE: hp regeneration is reduced by 75% when in combat mode)

Intelligence
- increase magical attack power
- increase magical defense
- increase maximum mana
- increase mana regeneration rate (NOTE: Mana regeneration is reduced by 75% when in combat mode)

NOTE: There is no stats that increase attack speed/movement speed

So, since Archerers use range attacks and also need some survivability, I figured that obviously, a archerer needs CON and DEX, right?

But my question is, how much for each of the two stats, and why do people say "add some STR to it" almost all the time? All STR gives for a Archerer (that he/she can use) is physical defense, and CON already gives that.

So, if anyone can clear up my question, I'd thank you alots.b:thanks

Because str is a requirement to wear armour/bows. You can have 1000000 dex but, do **** damage because you cant equip a proper weapon.

    My recommendation:
str: as low as it can be. Meaning, the lowest amount for your newest/highest level Light armour/weapon.
dex: the rest of the available points.
vit/con: (take points from dex) if you want more hp/survivability but, less damage.
magic: Do not put any points into.
I was early taught to work as well as play,
    My life has been one long, happy holiday;
Full of work and full of play-
I dropped the worry on the way-
And God was good to me everyday.

A pure dex build IS the best build for archer. All your extra hp should be from shards.

Your level + 4 for str, and the rest in dex. If you're level 30, you should have 34 str.

But wait until more experienced archers explain. =]

Con is called Vit (Vitality) in this version of PW.

Dex. Archer's source of damage. Very important. Pure build is to add 4 dex/1 str per level.

Why strength? Because it's also a requirement to use Light Armor (This is what an archer uses) and weapons. You should always, ALWAYS have (Your level +4) strength. Always.

Why not Vit? Because Archers commonly kill stuff before it gets to them. In fact, nearly always. For this reason Vit is skimpy because you don't need health when nothing's going to hit you.

That said, I have 50 Vit and am seriously considering raising it to 75 by level 75 and leaving it there as endgame Vit. That's because I like to tank bosses for my friends, and it's awesome to have almost 3k hp when my pure archer friends have almost 2k ^-^ However there are gem shards that can be put into armor that give certain attributes (Citrine Shards give HP) and these can be used to push HP up a great deal.

75 Vit gives 975 more HP than any Pure archer will -ever- have, though. Each point in Vit for an ARCHER = +13 HP.

My damage is a little lower, but that's okay. Another reason for going to Dex instead of Vit is that 20 Dex = 1% better chance of Critical Hitting, which is an Archer's lifeline.

I have 14% Crit rate at level 68, with 50 Vit. I could have 16%, but oh well. If I got to 75 vit I could have 17%, maybe even 18%, but 14% is just fine, lol. For now. ;P

Builds? 4-1 Dex-Str per level for pure Dex, 3-1-1 Dex-Str-Vit per level for Full Hybrid, 7-2-1 Dex-Str-Vit per TWO levels for Semi-Hybrid.

I was going with 7-2-1 'till I realized that HP was my calling. Attacking my Vit now. xP

    Hope I helped!

1 STR and 3 DEX each level is required for your equips. You have one free point each level which you can put into either DEX for more damage or VIT for slightly better survivability. I recommend putting it into DEX since you can make up for the VIT in gear.

I never claimed that Hybrid is better than Pure Dex.

They each have their benefits and detriments.

Well i went hybrid until about lvl 30ish. I have 34 vit (40 with armour) and after that I went pure.
I think every vit point adds 13 hp points+the amount you get naturally.

pure dex build is the way to go! Put str to just what you need and the rest in dex,but if you are looking for a bit more survival just find armor that adds to vit would be my awnser :P
