Cannot get into the game with Vista Notebook

so, after having read the FAQ and try to fix the problem with this i am asking here for help.

the Problem is, that the patcher.exe can`t connect to the update server.
well updating manuell doesnt work eather, because the Message "Unable to connect to update server. please another one" appears. its equal wether i choose the patch1 or patch2 server.

Computer settings:
Lenovo Thinkpad T61 Modell 7661VY9
OS: Vista Ultimate 32bit

having installed the PWI-Vista-Client version
- check
Disabled UAC
- check
Run Client as admin
- check
Run client in compatibility mode
- check
disable firewall and ativirus software
-check
tracert HT-server and update server
-yes, after position 13 came only * * * * and request timeout

but all this doesnt fix the problem

the second problem is, that under "Settings" no OS, RAM or graphic are shown. its empty - instead of Vista Ultimate, 2022 MB and Mobile Intel 965 Express

i hope someone can help me, because its enoying not to get into the game

    That's what you get for buying vista.

    Anyway the trace route looks like it didnt even finish the connection, and wherever it got ended at is maybe the problem. It could be just your patcher or something thats bad that could be fixed with a redownload/install.

    play the game as adminitrator

    or make your user account an administrator. or give your user accout full control rights on the programfiles/perfect world directory

    Can you post the full tracert results? We need to see exactly where it's timing out and what the ping time looks like.

    vista requires 2gigs dedicated RAM memory (meaning 2gigs of your RAM is used only by vista OS)

    i may be wrong on this one, but i believe i heard vista requires a certain amount of GFX memory dedicated to it

    also, @OP- you should post your dxdiag graphic log here, might help out alot
