Slow Pick Up Speed?

Today I was in one of the starting areas. I noticed low level characters running around and when they picked things up off the ground they bent over at near light speed. My character is nowhere near that fast when he picks things up. He's quite slow actually and it wasn't just a few of those low levels doing this, it was all of them. One of them bent down to pick up some lime stone and the resulting shockwave from the speed sent a pack of Verdant Qingfu beetles flying clear over the River of Tranquility.
How can I fix my pick up speed to be like everyone elses... if it can be fixed?

+1 for exaggeration
However, as far as I know the item pick up speed is the same for all characters and classes no matter the level. That doesn't mean to say that the devs haven't put in some modifier we cannot control, but that seems unlikely.
Possibly they see themselves picking it up just as "slow" as you but when it is translated through a server and your computer it seems much faster than it actually is.Raging Tide Guild:resolvepwi.mmoguildsites.com

its just server lag, the server doesn't display them bending over to pick up an item at the exact same time its really happening. It tries to "catch up" by speeding up their animation so that they aren't "behind" in the lag.
You will also see this with flying mounts, People on slower mounts will often stay the same speed with you (if your on a faster one) but then ever so slightly "click" back a little bit more and more, instead of a gradual fade.0 -
^^ both of those answers are correct.
To add to the possibilities, you could be getting a little lag (on your end) which will make you seem to pick things up more slowly, use skills more slowly, etc. If you have a rather slow connection speed, lots of users on your hub (dsl is commonly like this during primetime hrs), or even just on a wireless network (tends to lose packets easily...), you could have some lag.0
