Yeah basically just what it says. Been back a month or so and already burning out on PWI again. Just can't seem to find the thrill anymore. I am hoping that the new expansion will reawaken it otherwise I honestly fear the next time I leave PWI for a break, I just might not make it back.

So.. my question for you is, what do you do to 'keep the thrill'? Maybe some of your suggestions will help me grab the reigns again.

Personally, I spend a lot of my in-game time with friends, and I also keep up on my out-of-game issues. And, of course, I also have some long term in-game goals which I am slowly working towards.

Well, with all the high levels quitting, I guess what keeps me interested is eventually being the only high level person still playing. And I'll go around and everyone will revere me as a goddess and I'll tell low levels that I'll give them cookies if they go into PK mode then 1-shot them while they aren't looking. b:chuckle

i tend to bounce from game to game, both mmorgs and regular ones, get sick of them, move on to the next, then come back eventually

this is my first round on pwi, im sure i will get sick of it in a bit, but its pretty likely i will make i back

i tend to find that once you get burned out, its had to just find that interest again, unless you step away for a bit

AdvanceZero is right, you need goals to keep yourself entertained and busy. Though I will admit, of all the online games I have played, PWI is the funnest, but I get the least sense of accomplishment from.

I enjoy the game because I play to play. I play for what I enjoy, not for the sake of others. Now I love helping and doing things for people, I have made wonderful friends that I would do anything for, so don't misunderstand. What I mean is that I don't play the game to try and beat anyone. I don't play so that I can be better than this person or this person, but simply because I like to play. I feel good when I level, or when I accomplish something difficult. Why should it matter that so and so is higher level or whatshisface did it first? That's why even though I strongly disagree with things like these anniversary packs, it doesn't detract from what makes the game fun to me. The people that I play with on a day to day basis are good people. They are smart, kind, and quite hilarious on many occassions. We have a great time "Playing" the game.

haha i mostly idle ingame now because i've got schoolwork and because i have to get rid of my oracles. my fac lead Decept is not happy with my leveling progress b:chuckle

last time you were playing you were in Nef. that must've been exciting with the very much alive faction chat and all the TW. i realize your level isn't up to par with most TW factions' requirements as of now, but you can still be in a big PvE faction with lots of active people, or you can just make friends and drag people from your friends list along for grinds, TT, and chats. sometimes i even randomly talk to people who dont know me...(like Hisuna b:chuckle)

it'll take a lot of catching up for you, but if you really want excitement, you have to be in on some sort of PvP. don't believe me? notice how a lot of lvl 100's are turning white named.

Coming from somebody who isn't brave enough to post on their actual main account, this really doesn't say much. Come along now, show some backbone before running around saying others won't be missed. I'm sure nobody is about to die if you disappear either.

And my thrill? My thrill is ending up in a squad with nooblets who oracle their way up the levels, and then letting them know how badly they fail when they die and QQ about it. Really, it's the bomb.

Yeah being in Nef was a blast. I enjoyed that a lot. TW was fun, but I have basically stopped leveling. I have been shoving all my XP and SP into my Genie, my skills and leveling up my various pets. That and collecting Legendary Armor. Right now having ALL Legendary gear is the only thing driving me as a goal still.

Join a faction. I used to get bored every time I get over a hurdle, like reaching level 30, finally passing someone. Find that one faction that is so determined at reaching a goal that it achieved Level 3, has plenty of high levels, and will keep you working hard. Get involved with the faction and help the other players as much as possible.

After awhile the faction's goals become your own and keep you in the game.

I'm in the same boat Saitada, as i'm sure many others are as well.

I have kept my spark alive by taking on a "singular mentality" -if you will. Blocking all outside events from affecting me and any self-doubt or apprehension I may have (such thoughts can be debilitating).

I play the game for me now, no one else and nothing else... take your time, don't let anything make you feel like you are falling behind or inadequate in any manner. It is your time so do with it what you wish.

I currently have like 19/20 active quests and like 12 more to pick up lolz. So I am just popping in when I can or when my time from school and other issues permits it and getting stuff done.

Just picture yourself inside a black hole while playing and only come out if you need help with Bounty hunts, FB's, TT, RB.. etc. Then when you feel like you can give more of yourself to the game or are where you want to be. Throw yourself back into the herd! xD (if that doesn't work, maybe it just isn't meant to be) :(

The new expansion is sure to throw some fuel into my fire tho... new adventures have a certain quality that just get me all excited. Hehe.

Good luck and keep on truckin'! :)

Kinda same... I see no reason to level up at the moment. I got most of my new gears, TT99 seems too far and don't feel like doing dailies even to get there.

I keep playing to get myself ready for delta - getting channeling gears, more hp, upgrading skills... so I play to get money atm. When I reach delta I will let it level me. Or I will just stay for few deltas and then will be bored again. lol

Other reason while I am still here is friends, guildies.

Maybe start to run gamma? It is fun, at least at the begining :)

Best advice I can give, don't force yourself.

Basically, if something you do as a hobby to pass time isn't much fun, then what is the point in trying to force it to be less dull? You could just simply find something more enjoyable. It's a game, meaning it's purely for entertainment purposes. It's not a job or mandatory activity.

I've found myself losing motivation for a good few weeks now, but even so I forced myself to do my dailes and grind just because I didn't want to "lose out on exp" or "put my hard work to waste". But I took a good break a few days ago and I really feel better for it. Haven't done a single daily, only pw has been messing with alts and I've spent the time doing far more enjoyable things.

Let's face it, perfect world just isn't the high quality fun-filled enjoyable game it once was. If you still love the game then by all means stay, but if you feel you're forcing it, it's time to move on or take a break.
