Targeting

This may be a hard thing to ask for in a F2P game.

I just started playing this game and everything is great, and its funb:victoryb:laugh

The only thing I wish for is some sort of targeting system other than clicking on the monster.

When I am in a group, it soooo hard to figure out where to click to attack the monster and where to heal friends.

I think setting up a target button on the keyboard would be great for everyone. It would make it quick and easy to select targets without clicking at a group hoping you get the right one in time.

    You already have the option to assist attack a monster, so you target the monster someone else selected.

    If you want to target a party member, click on their name on your party list.

    A target key to select mobs would make botting way too easy, since we already have a skill macro system in place as well. In case you have not noticed, this game is surprizingly devoyed of gold bots spamming "selling gold cheap" and giving you a link to some website.

    A targeting key that selects npc vendors though would be nice in crowded places like arc, alhtough you can already shift+click to get through the people.
    Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.

    Well in the recent games I have played, just running near a mob auto targeted them.

    Since I am holding right click down to control the view most of the time, it results in an awkward switchup when targeting.

    A f2p without gold spamming is amazing, I think.

    the assist option. I tried using it and it never selected any target for me while I was in a group.. so, now I dont use it.


    I'm certainly not complaining.. I mean, how does it get any better than a fun free to play game, with support gms and a forum...free. Thats pretty awesome to me.

    You are correct, in this game most mobs are aggressive and they will attack you if you are too close, which will cause them to show up as selected.

    To use assist attack:
    The tank selects a mob. From the list of party members, you right click on the tank's name and choose assist.
    You will not have the same mob selected as the tank.

    Assist only works AFTER the person you are assisting selects a mob.

    ^that, or you can drag the assist attack icon from your "E" screen to a hotkey bar. then simply either click the player (tank) or their name in the party list, and press your button for assist attack.

    as a tank i use this on the veno that pulls so I never have to ask "what are you pulling" or wait until it is inbound... I see the pet going in for a pull and I instantly assist attack their target.

    Well...technically, you can* auto-target mobs by running near them, but this relies on aggro mechanics, and it can be used if you're just farming things that have very low odds to kill you. Also, seeing as you're only lvl 12, I don't think you've run across any large groups, just a select few.

    *Not reccomended for party use. Side effects may include verbal abuse and/or removal from party.

    when in squad you can target your squad mates by pressing shift 1-5

    I need to try the assist icon and the shift1-5, but sound like they would help.

    In Ether Saga, they have a target closest mob, so you could target closest mob, use a couple of skills and then a couple of pickups on a macro. That meant, 1 button push fighting non-aggro mobs. And yes, very lazy people did that.

    Of course, they also have that in game bot (the possessor).
