i know i said i wasnt gonna post again, but that was cuz i was expecting to get flamed.
Ur right ice, when i posted i hadnt thought about their other games. I did think about them afterwards tho. And the large increase in july could also be due to another strong release.
But my main point is still the same. They could release 2 new servers when they were trading at $8 a share, and the 2 new servers have made them a great deal of money, i gaurentee it, althought i have no proof of course. So it just seems to me that there is no financial reason that they cant release a new one now, that will also earn them money in the future. Especially if they are doing better than Blizzard.
EDIT: Looking closely at the link that ice posted, i also notice now that they are doing better than microsoft, disney, sony, and nintendo.0 -

That is correct, however, you need to keep in mind the perception of a ghost town server is not good for business. It is better when new players check the game and the servers are bursting at the seams.
When new players join, if they bother to come to the forums, usualy their first question is which server is the most popular. The people that usualy want new servers are generaly older players, that want to try again on a clean slate.
I do believe PW may have the players to open a new server set, specialy if they were going to set the server times to european or asian timezones. However, they already license PW in those regions as well, so they may not be able to do that contractualy.Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.0 -

Actually, there's no question that they won't be able to do that. In fact, I know that a few other MMOs that I've played in the past have put an IP ban on all IP addresses coming from countries that have their own branch. Basically, it's to prevent the main company from saying that they've broken their contract by allowing players from places they aren't licensed in. The fine print will get you every time.
On a side note, this is also the reason why PWI doesn't have game cards in countries outside of the US.One man's pain is another man's lol.

but they dont block IPs from people outside of the US. There are plenty of European players on their current servers. And they can set the time zone on the server to whatever they want even if the servers arent located in that time zone. It just means that TW wouldnt be at 2 in the morning for European players.
I think throughout all these threads, by far the best idea was whoever suggested a challenge server. I think this could be implemented very well and could keep people's attention better. I dont remember all the suggestions but some were to have 5 TW defenses at teh same time, so its harder to hold land. which means TW wouldnt be dominated by 1 faction. Also i'd recommend not separating the TWs by 3 mins, maybe just have a 1 minute difference. I also liked the idea someone had to have an island or multiple islands separate from the mainland that you cant attack if u have land on the mainland. I would recommend for this to make it so that only lvl 2 factions or lower can attack the island lands because eventually the larger factions that failed on the mainland would just migrate to the islands. But it still sounds like a solid idea to me.0 -
Sooner or Later a new server is going to come out. Even if its a long time from now. Some people like the idea that when new servers come out that'll have a chance to meet people that were on LC,Sant,Dw,Harshlands and i think theres one more? but anyways they'll like the fact that people from other servers going to be on the new server and then there would be best server beast going on in a New server. That'll be fun to fun im getting hype.~! Pkers Cons !~
Pking Noobs = Raging Noobs = Noobs get high level ( Also feeling sorry that level 30's getting pked by 80s+ = Them same Noobs that was being pked and now is a higher level Thurst bang them same high levels that were pking them = Hurting the Clans that pk low level noobs because in the long run them same noobs might would of want to join your faction but now they think otherwise and go to another faction.

No, PWI doesn't block IP addresses as of now. But if the main branch in China starts getting on them about where the players are coming from, it may be implemented. How many players are from Europe? I'm curious. If China looked into that and found a significant number, they might institute and Perfect World Europe. Who knows, maybe it's already in the works.
I remember the challenge server idea popping up. Wasn't that the one that resets every couple months? Because that wasn't a good idea. I mean, yeah, it's nice to start over on a new character and do things a different way if you want to, but having your character reset isn't very fun. Similar to that, I played one MMO that rolled everyone's character back an hour during maintenance. Everything but your items would be reset to an hour before so you'd lose an hour's worth of exp, any levels you gained in that time, and any pots that you used. Needless to say, that game was almost dead last time I was on. There were still a lot of characters in-game, but 95% of them were bots. Anyway, they've got the Tideborn coming out soon (hopefully) that'll keep things interesting, plus this new whole-server quest thing they're coming up with.
The island idea sounds nice, but it has a major flaw. The big factions could make a baby faction and supply it with players and money and take over the island as well as the mainland. If that hole could be fixed somehow, then it might be worth exploring.
Reducing the amount of time between attacks is a good idea, in my opinion. I'd like to put it on the servers we have now, though. But instead of 1 minute, I'll be evil and make all attacks simultaneous on the same day. Last week, Nefarious had one attack and one defense. One was on Saturday and the other on Sunday. They won both, of course, with time to rest and prepare between the two. They'd probably manage to win both even if they were at the same time anyway since it was only two, but imagine if it were five. They couldn't have the brunt of their forces in five places at once and they'd probably lose at least once (unless the opposing faction was really, really bad).One man's pain is another man's lol.

There are quite a few players from Europe. In my old faction i'd estimate somewhere around 15-20% were from countries other than the US. And i really have no idea about this, but i actually thought there was already a PW Europe, not sure tho.
No no, that idea wasnt what i was referring too, and ur right, resetting every 6 months was a bad idea, i was just throwing stuff out there. The challenge server idea wasnt my own, and if i can find where it was first mentioned ill link you to it after i post, but ill be going to bed after this. So ill try to explain how i understood it.
Whoever came up with the idea said that they could make the mobs tougher, so soloing would be tougher. Meaning ppl would have to group more often, which would form stronger bonds. They also said to have higher death penalties and lower drop rates and such to make it more difficult. I think they also mentioned stuff about TW but i cant remember what they were, but i think that it would be nice to have up to 5 at a time to make it more difficult to defend. That way you would have to form strong alliances, and it would be significantly less likely that 1 faction could dominate the map.
I really liked that idea because i enjoy a challenge. Which is why i wanted a new server in the first place, so i can compete with other players that come over for the top spot. I get bored on the servers after the play becomes redundant after a while, and once there really isnt much left to do except for grinding.
I agree with what u said about teh island idea, i like it too, but it isnt perfect. I'm sure tho, that if the devs liked the idea and chose to implement it, they could make it work somehow. I think that making them pay out less money might keep some of the strogest factions from spending money and players just to get the island. If they make it valuable enough for smaller factions to want it, but not so valuable that it would just be a waste for the stronger factions, i think they might have something there.
And yeah, idk who suggested the 5 attacks at once first, but i know it wasnt me although i did re-suggest it recently. I think it would go a LOOONG way in improving the TW system because it would be pretty much impossible for 1 faction to hold the entire map. It would require a strong alliance to hold the whole thing.
The same thing u mentioned about nefarious is currently going on in DW as well. Calamity controls about 80% of the map atm. There are multiple factions trying each week to get their attacks coordinated so they can attack at the same time. They believe they will be able to beat them if they can do this. IDK tho because i havent been in game too much lately so i dont know how strong they all are. The problem for them tho is that a lot of weaker factions are also attacking calamity, and it is messing up the timing for them. I think calamity actually has 8-9 defenses and 1 offense this weekend, and it is extremely unlikely that they will lose any of them.
I said 1 minute just because i dont know how the programming works, i thought i'd just restate the current system because they may not be able to easily change it so they all start at 8. But if they can do that then i think that would be best.
With all the different ideas that people have given them, especially to change the TW, I think they could really make the game better. Obviously TW is what a lot of players strive for, and 4 out of the 5 servers currently have a TW map dominated by 1 faction. If they could implement some of the ideas i would expect all the maps to look more like Heaven's Tear which i think would be great. When i start on new servers, i start out with the goal of having the top faction on the server, and from my experience, it is actually waaay to easy to do that. It would be nice to have more of a challenge. Which is also why i would support the idea of having a challenge server. Both because it is a new server, which is obviously what i want, and also because i think it would provide a better enviroment for some of the more hardcore players such as myself.
