Hello to the barb world out there.

I have a barbarian friend who currently has 6179 HP points when buffed. Shapeshift should increase that by 30% when going into tiger mode. By my maths that should result in... 8033 HP. Now his HP in tiger mode is only 7605, why is that?

Also I'd like to ask if there's a hidden way to increase that? He has citrine gems, few refinements, maxed HP buffed, +vit, +HP ornaments, ~+250 HP helmet and still other barbs around level 65 get close to the 9k HP mark. How's that possible?

Also about rebirth I heard that garnet shards work far better than citrine, can anyone tell from experience of comparing the 2?

    Possibly it's based on the base HP and not with the addition of +vit equips and +HP ornaments. Try it unequipped and see the difference?

    What is his initial hp without buff/tiger form. Including all +hp items and +vit items.

    Hp buffs (30% from true form and 30% from bki):
    initial hp with gear without any buffs: 5000hp
    humanoid with true form: 5000 x 1.3 = 6500hp
    humanoid with bki: 5000 x 1.3 = 6500hp
    tiger form buffed: 5000 x1.6 = 8000hp

    I've drawn up 2 conclusions:
    He doesn't have maxed out Tiger Form.
    or
    He has a different build than a tanker build.

    I'm going to assume he has lvl10 HP buff and lvl3 trueform. If this is the case then he doesn't have a tanker build.

    It considers 30% off the unbuffed base HP. And the two bonuses are calculated seperately, i.e. trueform doesn't add 30% to the 30% of the HP buff.

    If 6179 is his buffed humanoid HP, then his base HP is 6179/1.3 = 4753

    So base HP = 4753.
    With lvl 10 HP buff as humanoid = 30% added base HP = 4753*1.3 = 6179
    With maxed trueform (lvl3) = 30% added base HP = 4753*1.6 = 7605

    Shapeshifting intensify doesn't add any HP, just pdef.

    All +HP or +vit equipment (bonuses and shards) is used for calculating the 30% increases. Any +%HP bonuses are not used in the calculation. They will always add that % of your base HP.

    As regards to what shards to use, I found upto lvl60 or 70 garnets were ok. But 70% due to reduced gains the added pdef is almost pointless and you should really be adding citrines.
