Dealing with Clerics....Genie Skills

Hello expirienced wizards and wizardettes

I have a question pertaining to genie skills.

For most of the other classes I have solid combos that rarely fail to achieve my goal in killing them. However Clerics bug me because I can't seem to do anything other than run from them until they mess up

Their sleep + IH spam proves to be superior to my damage in a straight out fight; so i usually end up DS and HPing away and then doing the same right back in to seal/silence them as their IH fades

Is there a genie skill that can break the sleep? If not, what do you suggest for genies skill? So far the two i have and love to use the most are EP and HP; however I'm considering second wind and the fourth is open to any

And how do you handle clerics? Tyvm in advanced i look forward to your repliesb:surrender.

the genie skill "Adrenaline Surge" makes you immune to sleep for just over 5 seconds (or it used to..)

    what level are you?

since about Lv. 77 i have yet to meet a robe cleric my level that i cant oneshot. no amount of healing can stop that. if youre really concerned about killing clerics, i suppose you could just spend all your spirit on Blade Tempest and get it to about level 6~8 before you start thinking about BIDS. you might want to look into the genie skill "Extreme Poison" because it makes oneshots 20% easier

if you DO get slept, as soon as you wake up, FoW and run i guess..lol

one easy way of dealing with clerics ( and any other robe class):
    - get tempest to highest lvl possible
    - get frenzy on genie

as soon as you can hit: Fow-undine-frenzy-BT. Clerics are a pain in the butt and they will be a pain in the butt always. Just don't BT when they have Plume shell on. FAC clerics will die on a maxed BT without a sweat, vitality build clerics will stand their ground especially after 90. Before that I'd say it depends a lot of their gear

BTW InvokerMage, if every cleric on Lost City is a 1 shot for you, you must have some really bad clerics under lvl90 on LC.
I have a hybrid cleric friend, he has 6.5k full buffed right now and he's lvl 90. Quite hard for me to pull out a 6.5k tempest, highest non crit so far was 5.9k

This is really good advice for everybody; imho it's so much better to max one doom at a time instead of trying to keep up with two or three. Constantly being broke & having underpowered mid-leveled dooms is no-fun, max BT first then go on from there.

    Thanks for the replies guys
In fact I have BT at level 9 and same with BIDS

And yeah, as soon as I came out of sleep I'd hit the back key and DS etc. they wouldn't kill me however i just feel lame running from a cleric lol

I'll look into frenzy and andrenaline surge

Can you use Andrealine Surge WHILE you're slept? Or only after it hits? And what does frenzy do? I"m off to look at ecatomb, however im asking just in case i cant find it

PVP for Mages doesn't max its potential until 99, especially if you go sage.

Our ultis hit much harder at level 11.

Really the easiest thing you can do to guarantee a 1 shot:

    1) Sleep, keep the ***** from running (79 Skill)
    2) Undine Strike
    3) Force of Will
    4) Extreme Poison (genie)
    5) Cast Blade Tempest
    6) Frenzy (should get off before BT casts)

Before you jump to such stupid conclusions, realize this - the devs are stupid.

Frenzy increases your attack level by 20 (this is for matk and patk) and decreases your defenses by 100% (this is of your base only so it doesn't leave you with nothing.)
Hey Elayne. Its illegal to harass underage girls. And CQ won the map without you.

note i said robe cleric my level.
i never said anything about oneshotting "every cleric on Lost City"
and correct me if im wrong, but robe (5 vit) clerics wont have anything over 4.5k hp until they hit 90, unless they are using equipment with shards higher than g7.

    Edit:
Quite hard for me to pull out a 6.5k tempest, highest non crit so far was 5.9k

You equipped your +30% attack blessing right? If i crit way over 10k on 9x people with +5 gear with BIDS, you should have no problem dealing with 6.5k hp, especially if your BT is maxed and you have your 9x weapon

    @asdfasdf33333

if you are using both those ults Lv. 9 you are already 83+...maybe even 90+
if youre 90+ you shouldnt be running (?)
if youre 85 or lower, youre probably rich enough to get your weapon at least +3, so oneshots shouldnt be a problem

and with Adredaline Surge, im pretty sure it cant prevent the sleep once you are ALREADY asleep, so maybe just spam it while fighting clerics, especially before the 1st hit

yep i also figured she was a fail, but instead of flaming i looked the skill up in-game. the description says something about lowering defence to increase PHYSICAL attack, but ecatomb says that it also gives you +20 attack level for 8 seconds (+20% damage). i know the genie skills have supposedly been "updated" (including the descriptions) but i still believe ecatomb. the description in-game is wrong
