sell gold for the old prices?

Okay! Well I can tell that most of us are going insane and crazy in Harshlands. I mean, people bought gold for 100k before! But now? I don't even want to say the number, its too insane.

So for the sake of Harshlands growing economy... Should I (once I buy the gold first of all) sell them for the 100-200k range?

Oh, and I'm wondering what would happen if I did sell gold that low, would people who are greedy just buy it and leave the "good" people out, would it just be pointless to do so because I'm only one person and nobody else is willing enough to do that?

Plus, would it even make an impact to sell gold lower? b:surrender

Thanks to all that read that and (yes I do sound like i was writing and essay but i want to be taken seriously...) please post your comments and answers! b:thanks

There are people with too much coins in this server and if people put gold prices for 100k, it wouldnt last 10 minutes before some1 bought all the gold :p Would impossible to sell gold that cheap when there are people with so much coins, even if I was one of this ppl with alot of coins that does heavy cash shopping I would buy most of the gold in AH if it was being sold by 100k if I had like 30mil or so...

It will not make difference. I know ONE thing. When you sell golds for lower price than people want BUY. Gold will be automatic sold for the highest buy price. I tried it once.

That makes no sense at all.

But yes, the only way to FIX the economy, without the GM/developer intervention, won't ever happen. Basically every single person on the server would have to just refuse to buy gold over whatever set price, say 200k. Slowly the gold prices would drop until people started selling it. but yeah...good luck coordinating a million people who are all greedy and ego maniacs.

It's not too far fetched, and I think buyer impatience would be the real problem here. If everyone refused to use the buy function on gold put up for sale, and they only placed their own buy requests for a lower price, prices would have to meet in the middle. But of course, people desperate for gold might not be willing to wait for them to go down, and might settle for the higher prices.

Well, I was counting on that 10 minute or less reply but... So it could be just the buyer's patience of the price meeting? I guess it would be hard to convince thousands of people... But I'm sick of all the rip-off prices, its like "Oh, gold prices are finally down!" then "Holy cow, its 400k+"

So I'd have to plan a master-plan to somehow convince thousands of people to buy/sell lower then what they are now and... Oh how am I going to do that >.<....

Or another solution is stop releasing things such as new fashion and anniversary packs every month, Oh wait you won't do that your making too much money! Didn't pwi stocks go down though? Must read up on it.

I really like the idea of trying to get gold down and I assure you I would participate however it wont work for several reasons. b:sad

First what has already been stated here, people are greedy and if gold prices go down, the amount of people selling gold would plummet.

This would result in almost no change in the gold prices because of supply and demand. When there isn't abundance of a resource, its price goes up. Sadly, the need for gold will never die.

Players cannot control the need for gold only pwi can. And truth be told, pwi is a business. Their players are important, but not as important as their stocks. And the way they created this game is the only way they can generate income is for people to buy gold. So they do NOT want the need for gold to ever die down, so they can make sales and fashion. And alas, they get what's most important; money.

    Last already gave the point.

Sales and packs raise the need for gold. And while I'd like pwi to listen to the players playing their game, money is always everyone's first priority. The price of gold is evidence enough.

The price of gold follows the price of the items that can be bought with them. So as long as pwi feels the need to keep its anniversary pack out, 1 gold has the potential to be 50mil. Now think as someone who just bought gold and really wants ingame money. If people have the potential to make massive amounts of money off the gold you are about to sell, wouldn't you want to generate some income too? So you're going to sell this gold for an inflated price so that you can have money to get what you want as well. Its a viscous cycle.

As long as pwi chooses to fill it's pockets before player happiness, gold will do nothing but raise. And I foresee a decline in the player body as a result of this, but pwi wont notice until its too late. And it might not even bother them if they are still making money.

Well those are my two bits b:victory

b:cute Glad I could clear some stuff up for you :3

Honestly, people selling gold for less than the current value will do very little to help except excite someone who has the coins to spend on some abnormally cheap gold. It the end, whoever the good soul who decided to sacrifice their money will do little but become poorer.

The only way to fix this is for two things to happen. The VALUE of gold needs to go down. (The value of gold goes up during sales and events) and everyone must participate.

Unfortunately, I think neither is possible because of greed. pwi's greed and individual player greed.

EDIT: (Realized I didn't reply to you statement about fashion)
Also, the real problem is not the fashion. I like the idea of updating fashion, its the packs I dislike. and before the packs, its sale after sale after sale. These are the things that really inflate the value of gold.

Pretty much. I honestly believe that if pwi would take a two month break from all sales we would see gold at around 250k again. But by a two month break I mean no packs, dorbs sales, battle pet packs sales, exp scrolls sales, or anything else that they reduce the price in or add to the cash shop.

250k is still a lot higher than I'd like to see, but at least its bearable.

O.o............ b:angry I take that as a challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <-- one very scary teenager when angered...... (Did I mention Language Arts is my best subject in school?)

    >.< It doesn't quite help that I do, at times, not think of the subject clearly before I wonder about it. What you call "meaningless LOLROFLXD posts" is an art that obviously some people cannot do (Such as a person like you).

Those "LOLROFLXD" posts of mine are unique to me because they help me feel.... (Thinking on a word........ In the meantime.... <(" <) <( " ) > (> ")> Tehehehe...) They help me feel the feelings of joy because of the simplicity involved with it.

To explain however why "LOLROFLXD" posts are quite a true form of art... When on first pondering upon a "LOLROFLXD" post, you think it took mere seconds to type up and then post... It is not so!

You must first find the perfect topic/subject then if you must, a quote (or multi-quote). Then once at the writing stage, you must mix a combination of upper and lowercase letters including a range of symbols (ex.- !, >, <, :, /, etc.). Make sure you don't quite over do it so much it isn't readable... It should (the writing product of question) be much readable, actually even more so than you would as if reading a book if I dare say so...

After writing such a grand piece of writing, do NOT go back and read it. Let it flow the way you felt at the moments before, or else you'll get into a "I-Am-Perfect-This-Looks-Oooh-Error!-must-fix" mode. On the contrary, you are actually in truth almost done...

To be frank, all you need else to do now is... Add smilies/emotes!!! If you haven't already added them (ex.- :D, >.<, >:D, :(, :O, O__O, etc), please do that now and then add the smilies in... If there are any, USE THEM!!!!

And that is how you should write a "LOLROFLXD" post. b:laugh

(BTW, hope that helps you b:cute Did correct grammar so people could read it, haha rofl)

The only way for pwi to please all , for a VERY short time, would to lower prices, but they would have to make the game P2P and nobody would like that. At first people would be happy and just focus on the low gold prices, but pretty quickly they would probably quit because it would be P2P not F2P. Personally the aspects of the game that drew me to it were both that it was F2P and because im an avid player of DnD (Dungons and Dragons) and i wanted to see what a computerized rpg would be like. (im impressed, but still nothing computerized can beat the imagination). PWI is a great game and I can see that they have done a very good job of making it. However i think that they could reduce the number of packs that they give out, or reduce the amount of fashion. Maby instead of introducing a new type of both at one time, they alternate between introducing fashion and packs. any ideas?

Also i agree with the above statement Hamoru said, PWI should be aware and catious of the threat that he foresees looming in the future, the threat of player drop off. There needs to be a balance between business and player sadifaction, maby slighly favoring player sadifaction as they are the ones who buy gold. It is a very fine balance however.... business usally is.

Wow I love your insight of the PWI economy! Mhmmm, I have to admit with the fashion too. I think they're getting too many permanent additions to the Boutique at the moment. Its nice for a while, but then its like "Holy cow..."

Lol I used to do P2P games online, it was interesting. But I do love PWI since it is F2P too :)

But ummmm.... Why did you bring the thread back? Like sure I'm thankful I guess but errrrr, its been almost a month o.O
