Currently in an arcane vit build but planning on going LA.0

Unfortunately there isn't a heavy armor "build" based purely on leveling stats. You will never have enough base stats to use what you want. Secondly, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you only need 2.5 str per level to use HA, which would be 5 str every 2 levels, not 6.
HA builds use (typically) a mass amount of stat bonuses from gear. I recently restatted to Hybrid AA/HA.
I use aquadash, TT80 HA, and Part Legend/Part TT80 Gold AA. The only reason I can use all of those things however I want is the bonuses from my equipment.
I guess I'll vote heavy since there's no hybrid option.
EDIT: Nvm, voted other.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

That monstrosity you have posted is not a Heavy build in the usual sense used on these forums.
Heavy builds can take many forms, be it uncompromising (full magic weapon and armour), full magic weapon (armour behind), or full armour (magic weapon behind). There is additionally the option of forsaking magic weapons in favour of being a blademaster with a pet, but while technically doable, it is not generally considered a serious build. Also note for for the most common heavy build (uncompromising), you're actually totalling 6 points of stats per level (3 MAG, 2.5 STR, 0.5 DEX); that is to say, you collect the +STATs necessary to make the total work, then distribute your points according to your accessories.
Your poll unfortunately misses these subtle details entirely, opting to allow arcane users to specify their build more precisely, but lumps the diverse heavy builds into a single category.
Consequentially, I shall abstain from this ill-thought out poll.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

So sorry. I was just using the builds listed on the PWI Wiki: http://pwi-wiki.perfectworld.com/index.php/Main_Page0 -
Voted LA. Can't be listed as "Other" as I am simply unpure LA with extra vit.0

What I think is the best build overall is Vit-Mag Arcane built.
Mag: Enough to use your armor and weapon
Str : Enough to use your armor and weapon
Dex: 5 is enough unless you want crit.
Vit: The rest on vitality
You will then have at around lvl 100 about 7k hp, decent magic
attack and phys.res. It depends how you refine your gear and what you use.
My favorite build is prior stats like above. Full arcane w/hp shards. Can mix in a few phys. def shard if you want on helmet or cape maybe.
Then use physical defence necklace and belt.
I dont think there is any reason to go this build before lvl 90, then you get resistant against phys. attacks and magic. You will be better overall on each class. The nix will **** arcane as usual and you can take down a BM and barb without dying to easy.
My stats at lvl 99 is "around"
Vit: 274
Mag: 315
Str: 59
Dex: 12
That is my choice of build and its pretty effectivePride comes before a fall! b:bye0 -

Next time try reading the stickies on the VENO BOARD, for some reason I would expect that they would reflect veno builds better.
Anyway, there is no best build. They all fit a purpose and work very well, depending on play styles.
You need to figure out what your playing style is, than figure out which build maximizes your playing style.
FYI, you need 6 stat points per level to make a usable veno HA, and that does not even include any points in vita. Read the heavy build sticky for more details.Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Ok, let me put it like this: A Veno build made mainly for solo play, only for PvE and not PvP, and can do solo TT runs (Yes, I know I need a Herc for it). I usually have the pet do most of the work and use attack spells only when needed. Most of the time I just heal pet.0 -
If you plan on soloing TT1-3 Drummer in squad mode, you're going to need 100+ vit by L90. Provided you can get -24-30% channeling and have nearly 6k HP, you can do it. You're going to need nearly 3k+ if you plan on soloing TT2-1 Feng (horse boss). (So, Vit/Mag build.)0

Heavy/Robe hybrid. Hmm shouldn't there really be a "Heavy/Robe" and a "Heavy Melee" and then a "Battle Fox" option? That would narrow it down a bit better, if your purpose of this thread is to gather venomancer build statistics.
Most "heavy venos" are actually heavy/robe, some choose to be heavy only weilding melee weapons in human form, and I haven't met any on this server but there is such a thing as fox only venomancers who wear heavy armour and use magic weapons for fox damage.
You'll find the "best build" is the build the individual uses :P
There's so many valid build varities of venomancers it's not funny, I could try and describe them all o.o
Arcane varities:
Arcane (pure) build
Arcane/Vit build
Arcane/Dex build
Arcane/Other build
Light varities:
Light/Vit build
Light/Arcane Hybrid build
Light/Melee build
Light/Caster build
Light/Battlefox build
Heavy varities:
Heavy/Melee build
Heavy/Battlefox build
Heavy/Arcane hybrid build
Heavy/Caster hybrid build
Erhm I think that's all of em but I've got a feeling I left a couple out :S[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Reikara, I've never understood why you use "battlefox" instead of "fox"... Seems kind of silly to tack a modifier onto it but not the other roles such as "wondercaster", "superhybrid", "ultramelee" and whatnot.
That said, I think the act of compiling a compiling a complete list of builds is a bit of a futile effort since there's so many possible combinations. Personally, if I were to quantify the various builds, I'd try to do so by defining the different factors which go into a build, something like as follows:
Build = Armour + Role + Stat_Distro
Armour
- Arcane
- Light
- Light+Arcane
- Heavy
- Heavy+Arcane
Roles
- Caster
- Fox
- Hybrid (both)
- Melee
- Bow
Stat_Distro / Emphasis
Arcane
- MAG-emphasis
- VIT-emphasis
- DEX-emphasis
Light (and related)
- Pure (3 MAG - 1 STR - 1 DEX)
- Impure Magical / Variant
- Melee
- Bow
Heavy (and related)
- Uncompromising
- Weapon Compromise
- Armour Compromise
- Melee
Now, tallying that list up, counting only stat distributions relevant to each role (ie. uncompromising, weapon, and armour for heavy fox; only melee for heavy melee) and also counting the "X+Arcane" builds the same as "X", that sums up to a total of 27 general "builds". If tallying the "+Arcane" builds separately, it gives a total of 42 "builds".
That's not even including more specific sub-distributions either, since there are different degrees to which you might give a VIT-emphasis on an arcane build, for instance.
For those interested/bored, the 27:
1. Arcane Caster MAG-build
2. Arcane Caster VIT-build
3. Arcane Caster DEX-build
4. Arcane Fox MAG-build
5. Arcane Fox VIT-build
6. Arcane Fox DEX-build
7. Arcane Hybrid MAG-build
8. Arcane Hybrid VIT-build
9. Arcane Hybrid DEX-build
10. Light Caster Pure-build
11. Light Caster Impure-build
12. Light Fox Pure-build
13. Light Fox Impure-build
14. Light Hybrid Pure-build
15. Light Hybrid Impure-build
16. Light Melee Melee-build
17. Light Bow Bow-build
18. Heavy Caster Uncompromising-build
19. Heavy Caster Weapon-build
20. Heavy Caster Armour-build
21. Heavy Fox Uncompromising-build
22. Heavy Fox Weapon-build
23. Heavy Fox Armour-build
24. Heavy Hybrid Uncompromising-build
25. Heavy Hybrid Weapon-build
26. Heavy Hybrid Armour-build
27. Heavy Melee Melee-build
The above sums up why I think lists of "builds" is a silly idea.
I will note however, that I'm blurring the distinction between "build as stat distribution" and "build as purpose". Both senses of the word are used, and in my own assessment, the latter definition is used more often, leading to this obscenely long list.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
My veno which matters is Heavy/AA. Stat bonuses and -requirement ftwwww.
As for what the 'best' build is... there is no perfect build. It all has its squishyness one way or another. But I love being HA/AA no matter how expensive it is.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
oh look, i'm inactive again.

Well I'm going with 3vit 6mag 1str every 2 lvls. I thought that magic armor gives me magic resistence, physical ornaments and fox form gives me enough physical resistence so the only thing missing is HP .3vit/2lvls should add quite alot HP. It's paying off nicely for me.^^b:victory0

I used 'battlefox' because I think some are familair with the term, I think it orginated from the MY server and to me I think it it's a better description of a heavy armoured fox form only user.
Anyway I just wanted to point out that the current list wasn't exactly accuracte since venomancers are so versatile and sport so many different unique builds.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

tweakz likes to be disagreeable. I did suicide runs with Momento when I needed War Drums for my TT80 weapon. He had 6k+ HP then and nearly -30% channeling. He soloed it plenty of times for the faction.0 -
I have no set build that I followed. I put points where I felt like putting them. Ended up with 50 str, 70 vit and rest on magic at my current level. I thought about adding more vit but my gear already doubles what I have so I just kept adding magic.
It used to double my vit but I gave my tome to my barb he needs the +vit to tank.Main characters

Try again. It's the idiotic "HP is all", or "You need X vit" that tell me I can't do something when I can. These people totally disregard defense and funnel people to the more expensive / limiting builds.
Let's rattle off some other disagreements. Many say "magmite is best non legendary tank", yet never has anyone stepped forward to name a mob or boss their magmite can tank that a same level other common pet can't. So who's disagreeing with who? How about when I was advocating using a Ranged Pet to tank World Bosses? I was disagreed with there, and yet I've now tanked one with one (very successfully).
Defense is more practical for Pure Mag.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -
I don't totally agree with that. My 5k+ hp makes me very hard to kill. In pve and pvp. I can't remember the last time an archer or any other class beat me in 1 hit. I had an archer shooting me non-stop for a good 30 seconds in the last TW but I did not die until someone else finally attacked me as well. I wasn't even in foxform when this happened so my phy def was rather low, it was surprising that the archer could not kill me because we were fighting radiance at the time and you know how geared up they are.

While I was there, I was baffled at why many had such poor gear. I then learned that they're an admittedly laid back guild. I was disqualified from TW simply for refusing to sit in a squad for an hour prior being unproductive (Even though I was listening in Vent). -NP there, the TW pay didn't compare to what I was making anyway. Their pay was also based on level, so that's where many of their priorities were.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -

Ok whoa whoa what? How do you get 6k HP even by level 90? o_O
So by having 100 VIT I'll have 1200 + the 2220= 3420. Because I get 24 HP every time I level + the 60 I start out with. And you get 12 HP every VIT. So I'll need more HP through my gear... How am I going to get 2880 HP through EQ?... and have channeling?
Well let's say every EQ I have has 4 flawless citrine shards in it. 40x20 is 800 HP=4220 HP by level 90. It's still not enough!!!!0 -
I have no idea how he did it. I just remember he had about double the HP I did. (Barb buff helps a lot too.) I did say nearly, not exactly. With just my channeling gear on and with barb buff I have about 6.8k, roughly. I have about 7.5k with HP/Vit gear on. Another problem you're going to face with 1-3 Drummer -> his damage increases as his HP goes down.0

I can get around 5300 to 5400 hp and I'm not trying all that hard to get hp so its very possible. Unbuffed of course.Main characters

Thanks for all the help and replies. Another topic was made on this that lists more options that I left out: http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=491962. I would recommed furthering any discussion about Veno builds there, and maybe a GM can close this one. We don't need two or more topics about the same subject cluttering up the forum.0
