Ventrilo Compatibility??

I'm new here so I apologize if this has already been posted.

Can somone tel how to make Vent work while in-game? I can hear the person but I can't talk..we have to minimize the game to be able to talk to each other :(

I'd be so grateful if someone could help me out.. tysm.

    Ventrilo works just fine for me and hundreds if not thousands of others in game.

    (sowwy but me "old school" so me use hotkeys) Do you have a hotkey set up to activate teh microphone? Just make it something you don't really use in game but be easily accessible. like left paw left half circle. err me mean shift. or something.

    Right click on the vent icon and choose 'run in administrator' mode when you open it.

    MagicHamsta : I'm really not sure why it isn't working..it works fine with WoW.I can try changing the push to talk key..I usually use Left Control...and yes I'm pushing it before i try to speak =P And I don't know why I need to minimize the game in order to talk..that's why I posted ^_^..silly ;P

    FatherTed: Ok. I'll give that a try as well..although I'm pretty sure I did that before but eh..ya never know >.<

    I had this problem..temporarily..while playing WoW as well, but no clue how I fixed it lol!

    I honestly can't remember what I did, it just...worked al of a sudden.

    I did try both of you guys' suggesetions and still isnt functioning when in-game. It's so weird,I just don't get itb:sad

    You also have to make sure that, if using PTT, you aren't using a button that has an in-game function...I use Right Control as my PTT on Vista, and it works just fine.

    You not said the Ventrilo's, Windows' version.
    Ventrilo 2.1.4 is NOT working on Windows 7 (tested). It only works if u have the Ventrilo window activated, unless you have 10-20min lags... If you use Windows 7 install Ventrilo 3.x.x (tested, it works good) or reinstall Windows XP for Ventrilo 2.1.4...

    I'm using Windows Vista 32-bit and the Ventrilo version is 3.0.5. I did try changing the PTT key to different ones but still doesn't work .It works fine with WoW but not PWI..I've tried everything I can think of v.v

    I really need to figure this out :(

    As said before, it should work fine as long as you run as administrator. I know this has solved this particular problem for many people. You will have to restart ventrilo to make it work, I believe.

    with vista running as administrator should work and as you have figured that part out Great! now for a great key i find works realy well for me is the middle wheel mouse button if of course you have one. if not that one then the End key works ok too. hope this helps... oh and if you want to run more than one ventrillo server at the same time right click on the vent icon go to properties and in the target line paste this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ventrilo\Ventrilo.exe" -m


    or just add at the end of the existing target line a space -m

    this alows you to run multiple vents at the same time so you can converse with multiple guildies ect...

    oh forgot to add that if you decide to run more than one vent you should set a different hot key to each one so you dont drive every one nuts triing to figure out who your talking to ..... hehehe just dont forget which button is for which vent could get embarrassing if your talking to one thinking your talking to the other... well im sure you get the idea

    run vent as admin, all set if u run vista or 7
