How do you define "1-shot"?

Or 2-shot or 3-shot.

Are you considered a 1-shot if the person has to triple spark first? What if they double spark and 2-shot? What if they use Frenzy or other genie skills? Does it count if they're using the Jolly Jones Blessing? What about Undine Strike?

I have this argument a lot. Personally, I think if you can kill someone from full health, or near full health, with whatever combination works, then it's a 1-shot. Although I don't think the Halloween Blessing should count, since it will definitely be gone in a week, and you might not be able to do it after it's gone forever.

What's your stance on someone being "1-shotted"?

    To add a little bit more, I would say a one shot is when you can take out someones full hp with only 1 damage dealing skill (so that means debuffs and buffs on yourself that cause no dmg are fine eg. extreme poison or spark). Thats just my opinion though :P

    Basically, one chunk of damage. It doesn't matter how you prepare for dealing that damage, either through buffing yourself or debuffing the opponent, if it's a single hit dd, it's a one-shot.

    For that reason for example, I wouldn't really call HF+DDSkill a one shot due to the fact HF itself knocks off a chunk of hp. Extreme poison+DDSkill however is. Basically same way a cleric with a magic attack buff still one-shots you if you die in a single spell.

    One Shot = They unload on you once. you take massive damage that exceeds your full HP count and you go see those pretty white gates in the sky.

    1 Shot = 1 damaging skill that makes your opponent HP to 0%.

    As long it is not a buff from another class, it dosen't matter if you use all your own buffs and prepare for the attack. Afterall, it IS your skills and items.

    That's my definition of 1 shotting.

    It doesn't matter if you have every buff in the game from every class in the game, or no buffs at all, if you 1 shot someone, they died because your attack exceeded their HP.

    If I shoot someone with a dot skill and they die from the dot 10 seconds later does that count?

    Its not one chunk of damage I guess. Its one chunk of damage and then smaller chunks of damage.

    I consider something a 1-shot whenever the first damage spell kills them meaning if i:

    - Purge target,
    - Amplify target,
    - Double Spark,
    - Myriad Rainbow (get mag debuff off)
    - Extreme Poison on target

    and after all this the first Ironwood just happens to crit...the person in that sequence was a 1-shot.

    Sidenote: Above example is just for the sake of the argument, it's completely unrealistic to consistently pull that off.

    Definition of being one-shotted? Simple. You had your full health, you get hit once and fall instantly. No time to realize what really wiped you out, no time to react, including moving aside, healing yourself/get healed, countering or fleeing.

    As other stated before, damage over time is not one-shot, as you do not kill instantly (unless this precise case: You launch a poisoned arrow and the target dies upon impact... and does not die by the poison itself)

    Buttttt.... what if you use undine strike (debuf), small damage (about 2 % of their max hp), and then you hit him with a skill, dead, the damage of the skill was bigger then their original HP but if wasnt a oneshot, cause of undine.. how you guys think about this?

    Some classes were designed to be one shots at end game doesnt matter what you do. Example of these are archers,venoes, and most bms. I sometimes think most "one-shots" are overrated. Barb bragging about hitting a cleric while plume shield down with a zerc crit perdition or even zerc is kinda sad. Same goes for mages and clerics bragging about one shot damage on the 3 classes mentioned above. That's my opinion.

    I disagree with archers being designed to be oneshots. We have a couple key skills that can aid to avoid this, and genies also add to this. Plus you should always fight in the air so theres always the choice to drop and take reduced dmg.

    I disagree about ganking taking no skill. The shot itself takes no skill, but staying undetected requires a certain amount of timing. Back when I grinded mobs I used to be attacked and I feel that being killed was a matter of myself losing focus of my radar and not appropriatly preparing myself for the attack.

    Also archers should be the 3rd hardest character to one shot.

    Lets use common sense. Just say 1-shot does not equal 87378403498 helper skills stacked on you or the opponent. Go pk outside where the buffs you get are pretty close to minimal. I think thats a decent comparison.

    If you count to two, they went too far, and thy shall not say "one-hit"
    One and only one shall be thy count.
