Ugh. Someone please enlighten me, how do you create the open or filled stars? (as in, the star-characters used in equipment, 1-3* or elite-instance stuff)?

It's been driving me nuts for weeks, but everyone I ask ignores me. b:surrender

    Now this will bug me until I figure it out....
    Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.

    Does that work in-game as well?

    So there's no "alt+####" code for them, just copy paste?
    I was beginning to suspect as much. -_-

    might depend on keyboard too =o
    asian keyboards tend to be able to convert words to stars and other signs

    Do alt codes even worth in game? I remember trying to type one of the e's with the dash (cant seem to remember the proper term for it) and it turned out pretty weird.

    Only a few alt codes work in game.

    I know alt 1 is ☺ but in game it just becomes a ?

    yes, alt keys work. I mapped out several of them (there seems to be a chunk of about 400 before they start repeating)
    The e's are as follows:
    642 (e with forward apostrophe)
    648 (e with ^ above it)
    650 (e with backwards apostrophe)

    The majority of unicode is noncompatible with PWI at least on the keyboard I'm using (German key layout) on Vista x64.

    So it may vary?
    Bladestorm lets you spin around like a carnival ride and do damage. Not using it is almost like having a move called Confetti Rocket Power Leap and saving it for "emergencies"

    Alt+24/25/26/27=↑↓→← works ingame.
    But stars only work if you copy them. If you want some hollow stars (exactly the same as on weapon labels) go to pwdatabase.com, search some random legendary weapon (first one that popped into my head was wheel of fate) and then copy the star from the name.

    to see stars correct like 3* drops or pet name u need install chinese language pack..u will see stars on chat w/o l.pack..but that language pack also changes names font to my-en style :)

    That box ☺ is the default "there is no alt code for this" symbol. So everything becaomes a box if nothing else is associated.

So 0-255 is the same as 256-511 is the same as 512-etc etc. The codes you gave (642/648/650) for instance are the same as (subtract 256 from them twice) = 130/136/138. Alt-32 is space, followed by Alt-33 -> Alt126 being symbols/numbers/letters on your keyboard. The rest is hit or miss with some having symbols and others being the default ☺ in game.

    Many of the symbols ppl use (such as the stars) can not be alt-coded in game and need to be cut & pasted from another source.

    Edit: damnit i necro'd. Was looking up posts to find the stars, got sidetracked... came back to keyboard thinking i was on a current post and responded. Shame on me. Mods can do what they wish with a necro thread. b:surrender

    I've been having a problem with this exact thing. I've posted (& replied to others posts) on this issue and have not gotten a solution. You're the first one to mention this & not simply shrug. However, i do have "Support for eastern languages" installed on my computer. Is there something more i need installed? Because i still get ☺☺☺ instead of 3 *s when they drop on the feild.

    I thank you for the effort, but alas i use Windows XP. And that combined with the fact that i cant read Finnish (?), and my Regional & Language settings panel in my Control Panel only has 3 tabs, I wasnt able to peice together where (and if) the chinese language files are installed on my computer.

    Since i have the ☺☺☺ displaying on items on the ground i obviously dont, yet i supposedly have the asian language support turned on. So there's something i'm missing still >.<
