I just got a mail from a person which I don't know who and never met it says "sorry for getting this to you so late thanks for helping" and there is a war drum attached to it.

    This is different form what happened to me. My freshly made alt got a mail within a minute of being logged in from my main character containing a telecoustic.

    In your case the most likley situation is that someone spelt the correct recipitant's name incorrectly and it landed in your box.

    Keep the drum, its for the sender's benefit. Maybe they will learn a lesson and not send something a lot more expensive to the wrong person in the future.

    Seems like the best thing to do is whisper the person and ask what it's about. Maybe they were some random person you were partied with a long time ago that likes to pay people for helping out.

    If it was intended for somebody else then I'd recommend doing the decent thing and give it back. Or, at the very least, let them know that it didn't get to the intended recipient. That way they know their debt still hasn't actually been paid and then THEY can do the decent thing.

    Why even start a thread about this ? Even someone just starting on this game could think of the reasons why someone you don't even know sends you something..

    Most likely these items will need to be returned if they are of value. Unlike the police, we know what you have in your bags, so you may want to think twice.
