Control it properly. Its a known issue that will never be fixed. and, its all air pets, not just nix.
I was early taught to work as well as play,
    My life has been one long, happy holiday;
Full of work and full of play-
I dropped the worry on the way-
And God was good to me everyday.

It's normal. You have a few options....

Fly while using the nix to fight ground mobs, but be careful of glitching physical mobs because it's bannable. (True of any flying pet)

Don't attack ground mobs with nix, use another pet.

Set the nix to attack when you attack and use fox form to melee. Nix will stay with you, you get hit once and then it will take aggro.

Another option: Jump/Doublejump and send pet to attack when it flies up.

I've had the same problem with my Sawfly and this is exactly what I do. Works every time. b:victory

Use a land pet if you have to kill alot in hilly terrain.

If not, make sure you always send your pet down hill, and not uphill, flying pets tend to get stuck less when you do that for some reason
Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.

    Yup this's the best way.

It's kinda sad & stupid but we venos have to live with this as the best alternative.

By the way, i read somewhere that if u attack land mobs with air pets, your damage is reduced or something like that. Not sure if this applies to other pets used to hunt mobs not from their terrain types though.

Basically, you deal/take about 50%(rough?) damage if there is a terrain difference between you and your target. Air/Land, Land/Water, Water/Air, etc.

So yes, flying pets deal less damage to ground/water mobs. But a sawfly's damage still rocks.

And yes, I also use doublejump/attack for my pet.

    Control it properly.
    ^^

if u dont want to be in air cuz of damage reduction
u can always move ur character little bit right or left when u see nix is stuck, click ''fallow host'' then send nix to attack again..
worked like best alternative for me b:victory
it happens cuz map isnt perfect (flat),theres areas like little hills, which make flying pets unable to attack

Yeah, it's kinda dumb. Ground pets can walk over little bumps, air pets try to fly through them and get stuck.

It's not a problem when you're fighting one thing at once, but when you need your pet to take aggro off of something that just spawned, and it gets stuck and you're changing targets and fiddling the 'follow me' button and double jumping and healing yourself with potions and send the pet to try and attack and don't get stuck this time you stupid thing and....

Actually, that's when the game is at its most fun and exciting.

yeah but i always send nix to mob which spawned next to me,b4 it attacks me cuz i know it will..
nix can handle even more then 2 mobs at once b:chuckle
or just fly up..good thing flying pets dont stow when u do that unlike ground ones

Because of such limitations, the Herc and Nix don't make other pets obsolete (except for crappy over rated sawfly and magmites =P ).

not true, air pet damage is not reduced if you are on the ground, your character's damage gets reduced if you are on a flying mount though.
