Too many Clerics?

I just started a Cleric on Dream (first time i've ever played PWI, but about my 8th MMORPG). Granted i'm only lvl 9, but everyone seems to be a cleric. Occasional I'll see an Archer running around. My question is are there just as many Clerics around in the upper levels? What class is in most demand for the end game?

    depends on the server I guess, and note that at level 9 you are still around Plume City (Home of archers and clerics) so obviously you will see those 2 classes at this point in the game more often than the others.

    Server wise, Idk, I would assume there would be more clerics on PvE servers than PvP Servers like mine.

    I'm told that there are a lot of clerics at low levels, but a lack of them at high levels. Trust me, even at mid-levels like mine, you will be highly in demand, so don't worry about overcrowding or anything.

    At level 20, you will get your first quests in Archosaur. That is where the 6 classes finally meet up and start doing quests together. Until then, your quests are for your race only, so it's no surprise you're seeing a lot of clerics. The City of the Plume is the home of clerics and archers only, after all.

    Too many bad clerics, maybe.

    But yeah, at your level the only classes in your range are likely clerics and archers which might explain how many you see. I find a lot of people abondon their clerics between 40-60ish though.

    there seem to be a lot of clerics at your lvl but as you get higher lvl u'll find that there aren't as many. even when u get u get to my lvl u start to see less clerics cause they are generally the hardest to lvl after a while. i would keep going with ur cleric cleric because u will start to be more and more in demmand, even when u get to the 20s

    I can name tons of BMs, Wizzies, Archers, and Barbs who would disagree that our class is the hardest to level. Especially at your level. We get a little expensive if you are impatient, but that's about it.

    This makes much more sense. I'm just used to classes in other games not being so race dependent. At any rate i'm having a blast so i'll keep going.

    It's true that clerics are pretty expensive at lower levels (due to many skills, buffs we have to max as well as our mana usage) but it gets easier around 60+ when you have most of your important skills maxed.

    But then the mana usage can easily be covered by apothecary pots (somewhat but I guess it does help). b:victory

    I've actually found my lowbie clerics the easiest to level up to 20 after my venos.

    I'd say about 10% of clerics abandon their cleric in about the level 10-15 range. 20% Will probably abandon their cleric at level 20, for some Arch may be too much for them or whatever. 20% more will probably abandon their cleric at level 30-35. 10% of clerics will not know how to play their cleric and be stuck at a certain level for quite a time.
    So in most cases 60% of clerics will be gone or not around your level range and about 40% will be left.

    Granted, I just estimated these numbers.

    Clerics are in high demand, especially once you hit 60+ because then you can start running TTs and everyone loves to run TTs. Barbs and clerics are usually the hardest classes to find for FF or TT or Lunar. That's probably because it often takes 2 clerics to do those. However, since the release of the hercules pet, venos are able to tank nearly as much as barbs can. There are just some things that can't be tanked with a pet. (I'm itching to try tanking them on my veno with a couple of good clerics at my back.)

    Defining a "good" cleric is one that's up with their buffs so that the squad or tanker doesn't run out of buffs in the middle of a battle, works hard to keep members from dying or their charms from ticking (we'd prefer not to tick our charms), and sexy awesome with purifying debuffs. Since I have pretty good HP on my veno, I will turn to tank a mob if it's hitting a cleric or wizard. I've learned from the best bms and barbs I've come across in game that you protect them since they will drop the fastest (though it would be nice if they did catching instead of me).

    Who didnt? Went to 20 fast also, but going from lets say 30ish to now 78 was easy beyond any compare.

    I love it when everyone tries to protect me in instances. But then I hate when other classes can't handle the mobs they took and they run to us because they need to be healed and then boom...I take aggro. b:surrender

    Only thing that is anoying as cler is
    PPl taking to many mobs and wants me to heal so I take agro
    ppl telling me that I must upp Rev Heal Buff etc.
    ppl that get pissed because they lose XP duo to my rev is 6. Gues I wont rev them again.
    Do 3k crits on Chienten and Drum in TT

    But what I love as cler is that I(68) can:
    Solo TT1-1/1-2 without charms
    AOE grind 20+ DoT mobs
    do 20+k crits with Thunder/Tempest on same lvl wood mobs not far away on other elements thou
    Do some pretty good healing with heals that I havent maxed yeat but I dont need em higer but i still get em higer


    Yea u will face otehr classes later btu we clerics is 1 of the esiest classes to lvl if u ust grind abit and up other skills then Buffs Heal but make sure that IH and offencive skills is maxed. But then u need the other skills to get axepted in partys without prob.

    lol In dreamweaver ive got a 77 cleric and when ill enter an squad they already got 2 or more clerics. How many times ive got kicked to make room for barb b:sadb:sadb:sadb:sad

    No not too many most of them quit anyway I almost did too and you will see that most people will beg for clerics for fb's bh's tt's ... even on world chat and clerics are not that easy to find because it is the hardest class to raise (sorry mages but it's true) and I think it wikk be rarer to find clerics when the tideborn classes assasins and psychics come

    clerics are pretty alrite. but after 90+ it just start getting boring. i dont do RB, mybe that's y ..but cleric r pretty needeed in high levels. especially male ones since we are so rare lolb:victory

    b:chuckle That's true tho o.o even being a cleric, like you're in a squad and there's two cleric but only one needs to heal and the other volunteers for that part and you're all like 'yay I get to DD' but then people start dying so you end up having to 'help' heal and you think to yourself...'funny since I can solo heal this.'

    But yeah xD higher lvl at least on Harshlands it's harder to find clerics, either that or people just really like to bother me x.x
