Is This Game Worth Going Back To?

I'm considering returning to PWI...but is it really worth it? It used to be a huge money sink for me, so is there enough life left in the game to justify coming back?

Life....yes....but the Anniversary packs are back.

Read through the current threads...especially on the server you play.

Or just come in and play for a few days...then decide.

CS'ers have an advantage, but you can play and play well w/o spending a dime on this game.

without money, you have to set cat shop... it took a quite to make money.

You can farm mats days and days over and you get a full Leg+TT gear with flawless shards and refine +1 (LOLZ)...

...

or you can also watch people wasting 1K in real life money to get gear better than yours without "figthing" to get it... and they will pwn you every day of the week due to perfect shards or better shards and refines +6 or more

Ahhhh...another one who does not know how to make $$ in-game w/o having rl $$.

Sorry for you....I helped a friend who did not believe it to be true and he made about 4mill coins with-in a few hours, just off of a conversation that lasted about 20minutes b:cute

And I am sorry, but you can easily + your armor/weapon up to +5 w/o using orbs....all u need are mirages and a little patience b:surrender

But to each there own...but I can assure you I know a lot of people who spend nothing on this game and are very, very good players. b:victory

If you are afraid you will spend money then maybe you should think about it. You don't have to spend money to enjoy this game. I spend some on fashion and charms but never more than $10.00 a week.
It is more important to play the game,meet some people and learn about yourself.
I have never had to pay real money for any equipment I found/improved playing " Champions of Norrath". If you kill mobs you will find items and if you quest you will get the things you need to improve your equipment.
Either way just have fun, you can always do that without spending a lot of coins here or in RL.
You can have a lot of fun and find some great stuff and meet some great people without spending a cent.

Sometimes I think you don't realize that the game coming from your POV (a level 100 cleric) does not in any way/shape/form reflect that of someone just beginning in this game.

This maybe a valid point, sure starting as a brand new player looking at the AH and the catshops at the Price of things is omgwtfbbq kind of stuff, but the door swings both ways, becuase they cost so much to get you will get that price selling too, even stuff u can have for free herbs mats etc sell for a lot more than they did when i was lvl 1.

That aside, this topic is about a player lvl XX who wished to know if its worth returning too, hes not lvl 1, he has some funds, with which he can use with some clever market observation and turn it into multiple times what he started with, esp now with the anni packs messing shizz up,

so far the general opinion seems to be "No, unless you're rich". I wasn't aware of any new classes coming out...I thought about rolling one but whats the point with a thousand other people doing the same thing except with hundreds of $$ irl?

In my honest opinion, even if you ignore all the economic insanity going on right now, I'd say it's not. Why? Because you're here asking if it's worth it. It's sort of like asking, "Do I look good in this?" If you have to ask, chances are you don't. If the answer was "yes", then you'd know and wouldn't need to ask.

That being said, you're still interested enough to poke around a bit. Personally, mmm, I'd say it's worth it but I'm playing so I'm biased. b:chuckle

If the game was a huge money sink for you BEFORE the Anni Packs, I'd avoid it now. It's turning into an inevitable money sink for the masses. I've steered clear of it so far by pretending TW, PvP and all that doesn't exist. I've stopped looking into fashion, mounts, pets and even refining gears. End game holds no interest for me because I know there are plenty who just cash shopped for their's. And the Oracle-junkies are starting to REALLY get on my last nerve. Simply because they seem to think they're uber now that they've bought their way up. b:angry

I've survived by mentally blocking out others. I chat with no one. I know that somewhere in the conversation a comparison of gears/possesions will come up and I'll fall terribly short. I need to be able to not compare what I've worked for to the mass amounts of so-much-more-ubersome items that certain people merely cash-shopped their way towards. It's a challenge, mentally, to keep yourself sane in the current situation. I've taught my eyes to automatically ignore the red Duke text so I don't read it. b:surrender

I just keep telling myself I can do it. It'll take time but I can do it. I'm taking it one goal at a time. And I never stay on when it stops being fun. Which is why I'm not on much at all these days. Most of that time is spent catshopping too so as to meet my current goal, whatever it be.You used to be able to get by without catshopping, which is great for someone with crappy wireless like me. Now inflation is too high for grinding for coin.

But all of this doesn't really matter. It's only my take and what matters in your return is your own take. So give it a shot for a few days and see if you're happy. If not, get out while you can. Lmao.
