Tips for beginners for enjoying PWI :)

These are some tips for new players to help them enjoy perfect world better. Hopefully keeping some from quitting or ragequitting. I myself enjoy PWI very much except on certain situations.

Dealing with PWE:

1. spend some gold- if you find that you like this game and have played it for a while, it will go along way into enriching your experience. whether its a nice mount, some fashion, easy mode, or that gear you cant farm cause youre to busy leveling up or playing solo is your bag. Plus you wont suffer the effects of the ingame economy and you might be helping it along.

Dealing with the Friends:

1. Dont invite your friends to random squads- if you dont know the persons you are squading with dont invite your friends. There is a good chance they will get burned. So if you want to keep your friends do not take them out with strangers.

2. Dont help people you dont know- Like when you were little and they told you not to talk to strangers. The ones that just keep screaming they need help or random requests from strangers. Think about it. If they are screaming for strangers that means they have no friends to help them, and maybe thats for a good reason. Same goes for anyone asking you for anything like money, items, w/e. They are asking solely for their benefit not yours. Tell them to ask a friend.

Dealing with the community:

1. DO NOT VISIT THE FORUMS!!!- They will terminate you. If you are having a good time ingame dont come here. For guides and information, use the the PWI wiki wich you can find under the gameinfo tab at the top of this page. I cant tell you how many times I have come here ecstatic at the fun this game is, and then read about all the things that are wrong and messed up with the game and have my mood do a 180. Its....Depressing. Ignorance is bliss do not come here (I am serious, you will rage and possibly quit).

Everyone feel free to add, flame, or citique. All your opinions are welcome and desired. Feel free to veer off topic if you like, some of the best discussions start on threads that have nothing to do with thread topic. Anything that might help players have a better experience and stay with PWI,

    I would add:

Remember why you are playing. It is fun. Do not worry about the guy next to you or how he is richers, levels faster, has better gear, etc.

Like coming to the forums, looking at other people's gear is not a good idea unless you are happy and confortable with yours.

No matter what happens, the work you have put in is not wasted, since you had fun while doing it (see previous paragraph... its is fun to play). So if it took you 2 months to work on some gear and you got it, just because someone else was able to buy it without spending 2 months getting it does not change in any way the stuff you already have.

Take responsibility for your actions. Do not blame everyone and everything. If you do not take responsibility for your actions, you will never be happy no matter what. Also, learn to let go. After something happens, do not dwell on it, since nothing good ever comes out of it, just accept what happened, learn from it, and move on.
Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.

It's too bad but "free to play, pay to win"-sckye

Umm...only a couple more things I'd add in.

    Dealing with Other Players:

    1) Remember that most of the factions in PW will probably not last. This, however, doesn't mean that you should join as many as possible, or that you should join up with any random one. You'll find that joining a faction where you've played with 1 or more people will make your time far more enjoyable.
    2) If you have gotten help from other people, be willing to give help back. This doesn't mean you should empty your bank to give them things, but if they need another person to clear a quest, seriously consider joining up with them, as long as you won't hurt yourself by doing so. Going to help a friend with a quest that is +/-10 lvls probably isn't a good idea, but think about what you can bring to the table. They wouldn't ask you unless there was a reason, now would they?
I shall dominate the Dreamweaver server through the use of Baked goods...and only baked goods.^^[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Venomancers are Female. Barbarians are male. It will forever be this way. So suck it up and deal with it already.

Some great advise there particularly about not inviting friends to random squads. However, I disagree with the tip, do not help strangers. Helping others is a great way to meet people, make new friends, and help contribute to making a healthy, positive gaming community. Yes, I have met a few ungrateful jerks but more often than not, I get a “thanks!” and a smile, and feel good about myself knowing that I have contributed to making their gaming experience a positive one. In fact, the best friends I have made in this game have all come through serendipitous encounters. And if they do turn out to be jerks, one click to “leave squad” and you are done with them. However, do not misinterpret, one always needs to use caution and good judgement. For example, I never give out personal info or give people anything that I would want back.

One other tip I would add to the OP’s sage advice is, be careful with buying anything from catshops as there are a LOT of scammers looking to rip you off.

Removed the part where you insult and accuse PWE staff, because that's highly unnecessary.

Yeah, you've still got five levels to go. There's also the chance that you'll go demon to consider.

I'd like to add something to the "Dealing with the Community" part.

    2. If, despite earlier warnings, you decide to frequent the forums, ignore Ikurei. He's a noob and a jackass.

Should be very helpful for new forum visitors.b:chuckle
