It's funny...

It's actually surprisingly hilarious reading about all the people complaining about the return of Anniversary Packs, the possibility of gold prices going up (again), and everything else everyone is complaining about.
Here's a few simple solutions:
1. If you don't like the idea of the packs being back, don't buy them. Don't buy them from the Boutique, a catshop, heck, don't even acknowledge they are even around, just ignore every instant of them, and the items from them.
2. Don't like gold prices? Do something about it. Don't buy for an outrageous price, and certainly don't play along and sell for the same price, if not more. It's simple supply and demand, people "supply" excessively over-priced gold and people "demand" excessively under-priced gold. Easy solution, just don't buy, and start selling lower, eventually, the prices will go back down, but if people keep playing in to human greed, they will only keep going up, regardless of what events are going on.
3. DON'T BLAME THE DAMN PACKS FOR THE RISE OF GOLD PRICES!!! It's not Anniversary Packs, Jolly Jones, or any other event that makes gold prices rise, THAT would be the fine product of human greed. It's human nature to want more for your money, but some people just want too much, and yet, people will still pay it. Want gold prices to go back down? See #2 or deal with high gold prices.

You know what else is funny? You talked about the law of supply and demand then completely ignored it on your 3rd point.DarkMousey - Heavens Tear wrote: »3. What? People just happens to be more greedy when JJ is or the packs are out? Those 2 created demands... demand created higher price. /fail[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Thank you Forsakenx for the picture. b:thanks0 -
Isnt the supply and demand thing work like this.
Seller has alot of what players wants , players are buying them, the price lowers becoming more affordable.
Now stop me if im wrong but thats a total fail concept with 99% of people who sell gold or other items that require gold? b:surrender[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Do you think it is coincidence that something valuable gets released in the boutique and gold prices go up?
Aren't you being greedy for wanting cheap gold prices? You want more gold for your coin (gold greed), gold sellers want more coin for their gold (coin greed). The point at where these meet is the current gold price.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

its supposed to work that way. but in a game like this when its a item shop good the can charge pretty much what they like. and people will buy it even if a ton of them got dumped in the game.0

THIS.
PW economy 101: The more you can get with gold, the more people want gold. The more people want gold, the easier it is to sell gold. The easier it is to sell gold, the higher people charge for gold.

Actually yes, they are more greedy in times of the events. The opportunity gives them the chance to do something such as raising the prices of anything and everything they can, in the hopes people will still buy, despite the high price. Other people see the higher prices and think they can also get such a high price for their things, so they follow along, and so on, and so fourth, leading to a cumulative increase in price.
People are naturally greedy, but to what extent is the question. Back when I started back in mid December, Gold prices on Heavens Tear where pretty steady around 100-125k per. Heck, even the first time I remember Jolly Jones coming around, prices didn't raise all that much, Guardian Angels where sold for, maybe 5k over their usual price, nothing too big, then everyone did just what human nature dictates, buy from lowest to highest, leaving only the over-priced items left.
Yes, demand does create higher prices, but supply is meant to stabilize the demand.
Heres a little diagram for you:
IF - Supply = Demand - prices stay the same.
IF - Supply < Demand - Prices go up.
IF - Supply > Demand - Prices go down.
BUT, according to most of the children playing with their parents Credit Cards:
IF - Supply = Demand - Prices go up.
IF - Supply < Demand - Prices go up.
IF - Supply > Demand - Prices stay the same.0 -

I, am in love with you. I hope you arent a dude, cause then that would be akward.
Correct. You cant ignore this, and you cant convince several thousands of people to collectively 'not' buy the packs or 'not' buy gold.
What you can do, is collectively complain about it and flood their ticketing system with pissed off rants.

You just said it yourself. The events created the opportunity so how are you yelling "Don't blame JJ or the packs"? People buy BECAUSE the event made it so that it's profitable to buy.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

First off, in the event I actually get gold, I purchase it myself, either with my Credit card, or I drive my lazy butt down to target and get a prepaid card. THEN, I proceed to get the things I intended to get and anything that is left over, I see what I could use.
I NEVER have, and NEVER will buy or sell gold straight out. And in the event I do end up selling items I buy from the boutique, I sell them for MY OWN standard buy/sell prices based on the original prices of gold, which where 100k/per.0 -

If I remember correctly, gold prices where going up before the events took place.0 -
i'm always shocked at the number of people who think they understand what is going on. if pwi dictates what items go on sale and what items are released, then pwi is the primary determinant for the demand for gold. in other words, this is NOT a free market. what we have is a central authority that manipulates the market in order to push demand and gold prices up.
the game is designed such that certain cash shop items are necessary. charms and refines are a basic requirement for almost all end-game content. angels are required on all pk servers. therefore, when the central authority directly influences gold prices, then why is it wrong for the community to complain? a lot of cash shoppers are complaining as well, so why do people continue to blame the community and kow-tow to PWE?
that is like voting for the same government that hikes taxes and then blaming people for using social services. because clearly, it is their fault, right?0 -
When the announcement was posted at 9:50pm, I logged in and bought 40 Gold. Tragically, that was all the liquid coin I had at the time, otherwise I would have happily have bought out all 160 Gold that was still in the auction house. 2 minutes after I bought mine, it was all gone.
You say, "DON'T BLAME THE DAMN PACKS FOR THE RISE OF GOLD PRICES".
Heh...
See, now THAT'S funny. Because I, and others exactly like me, just bought out all the AH Gold for exactly that reason.
And you know what? I'll turn a 33% profit on it in just 2 1/2 hours and I won't feel the slightest bit guilty.
You can get on a soapbox and rant about greed, but this is just a game, not real-life, and I play games to win because they're more fun that way. Sure, the new rules of the game suck, I can see that, but if PWI decides that these are the rules then I might as well take advantage of them.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
