Awful TT1-3... Suggestions please?

So I was doing my TT1-3 run today, and something really... really went wrong... ><;; The snake in TT1-3 hard mode was usually hitting my herc for about 500 to 1.3k but out of blue, it hit my herc for 2.5k then followed a 2.4k b:sad
I buffed my herc every 10min so there is no way that herc's buffs wore off.
My poor herc died 2 times because of this unusual damage before maintaince and my friend and I did not finish our run
I have never seen the snake hit so hard before >_< Is it because Wood is hitting today? Or did I do something wrong? Should I wait for my lvl79 Glaive of Divinity before I try TT1-3 again? I've done TT1-3 before and this never happened -sigh-
Any suggestions are appreciated.

It sounds like the nuke hit you. It doesn't hit all that hard but does occasionally do a nuke, if you weren't healing anticipating that nuke, that could kill the herc.0

I have noticed that some bosses have a different close damage than far damage (hard to explain properly). Usually the close damage is much lesser than the far damage, and occasionally our pets manage to attack at a range that lets the bosses do the higher damage (even if the boss isn't doing a ranged skill).
I first noticed this on Fushma when I would do my own BH runs solo... sometimes Fushma would do so much damage I would have to pretty much heal constantly, while other times I could get 2-3 attacks in between healing the pet. When I finally realized what was happening, I tried repositioning the pet (called it to me, then sent it back to the boss right away) and that fixed the problem. Sometimes took a couple tries, but always took care of that higher damage.
Can't say for sure if you are experiencing the same thing, but thought I would toss this out there...0 -
Archers do half damage under a range of 5. Melee range is 3.5 I believe, but perhaps there's something with hit boxes that lets something hit from outside of 5, so it would do full damage. Vipenalt isn't an archer though. This is also why when you pull aggro off an archer in pve, you're better off running under the mob than running away (unless you're already at max range and can holy path), by running away you take full, running towards it you take half which will give you a little longer to lose aggro.0

So it is bad luck then b:sad I even tried to use windraged incense every time Herc's hp was less than 2k (at lvl77 he has 3.55k hp) but still... the snake killed him twice lol
Do you think it is necessary to ask my friend to interrupt his nuke channeling? Not sure if archers have skills like that though lolMoved to WoW b:bye0 -
How often were you healing? You shouldn't really be having any problems with Vipenalt.0

Yes, snake spawns the hands in the two chambers it's in. It was suggested that the devs made TT harder to make Lunar easier.0

I spammed healing and I have -21% chan My guild is 50 vit rest into mag... and I have tanked the snake in TT1-3 before without any problems... Just that night -sigh- It killed my herc 3 times ><;;;

I have noticed on some particluar runs the bosses seem to do a lot more damage then usual. And I mean not just the one off crit they sometimes do, but multiple crits in succession (this especially applies to SB and his damn fireballs).
The snake is a bit of a problem because it will spit high damage poison (which is already a weak point for herc) then very quickly follow up with a bite. This can easily take off 3.5k+ HP of herc in a matter of seconds, and if you're unlucky with your pet heal, may very well kill the herc.
Regardless its a very rare occurance, and once you're past lvl 87 your herc can survive 2 snake crits with quite some hp remaining.0 -

Will an eldergoth marksman be able to tank the snake lol... I assume the snake will only do magic attack in range right?

Maybe mobs and bosses have crits too? Rare but are.. My pets had crits too .. I think I saw some in past b:lipcurl but don't remember for sure now @.@'My chars: 97 barb, 87 cleric, 91 veno, 80 archer, 74 Blademaster, 34 Psychic, 30 Assasin, 20 Wizard, 44 Seeker, 20 Mistyc.

I think bosses crit because by my level I should be able to solo tank TT1-3 Drummer but my herc bit the dust when the boss did over 3k in one hit followed by another hit over 1k. b:cry It was devastating. We had it at just slightly above half HP.0
