Archers VS Mages

Every time in pvp when I fight an mage, I have trouble. If I get the jump on a mage, I normally manage to beat them, but with alot of effort compared to other classes. I easily kill unbuffed wizards with 1 good hit(sometimes non-crit) but buffed with the earth shield are quite hard. I have the mat for the CV 95 bow, which the special removes all positive buffs, and I was wandering will that make wizards easier to kill, my level ones, or will wizards always be so challenging, and if I like pvp alot, is rolling a wiz a nice or bad idea. I'd like responses from archers/wizards to learn what is truly the best,

    You shouldnt have any trouble with wizards. At end game only class that can kill wizzies is pretty much archers.

    mmm i want tips on fighting 9x wizzies. their pdef is like 2-3 times my pdef (ya we're talking about robies), their force of will casts much faster than stunning arrow, and their distance shrink is like 25 meters v.v

    all they do is force of will, dist shrink in for sophoric, then undine + sutra + bunch of nukes and it's like over. theres no way i can take down a 9x wiz before he takes me down w/ nukes esp with undine on me.

    it's different if i get the stun in beforehand (since you still...more or less, outrange 9x wizzies by 2 meters unless they get sage/demon versions of a skill and you dont have demon/sage winged blessing), but if im in SZ and they're around SZ targetting me, then theres like no hope of getting out :-/

    or maybe it'll get better when i have tt90 and better than +2 refines b:chuckle

    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
    Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.

    I never had any trouble fighting robes my own level...or even 5~8 lvs higher. Then again, i havent tried in a while. Last robe i killed was like lv88 (i was 83) and he went down in 2 shots. Not sure how demon/sage is fir wizes, but its unlikely that they have this huge pvp boost over demon/sage archers.

    He meant when he reached higher lv. That was pretty obvious. He even stated the lv of the bow. I dont see how you managed to misread.

    I disagree. Sure mage at end game with +12'd gear is hard to kill and hits hard but archers can still kill them provided the mage doesnt crit.

    It depends on if you plan to keep fighting the same person, or if you're looking for killing them in general. One problem all spellcasters suffer from, especially when they aren't challenged, is apathy. They don't invent new things, because they don't need to. Their actions become almost macro-like, and they set up the same combos over and over. There is some variation, like which 59 is used, but their kill combo usually stays the same.

    Wanna **** with them and you're demon? Get in close enough to use your chi steal skill while ensuring you aren't slept. They only have 6 seconds of no channel in which they try to cram as many skills in there as possible; 1 is almost always a 59 skill. Since Sutra costs 2 sparks, they only have 4 to work with as their usual MO, this screws up their pattern even if they react in time. Otherwise, they spend a while smacking their 59 skill without anything happening. Meanwhile, you're free to lock em down at your leisure. They wasted 2 sparks on their own, to stare at you. Even if they do catch it, it's precious seconds wasted realizing it, moving over to click/tap their chi skill, then back to their 59. Or they give up on 59 for then and move to another skill. Either way, their combo is broken.

    They typically use the exact same skill against you each time for their 59? Get genie immunity skill to that type. Doesn't need to last long, sleep only lasts 5 seconds with FoW. Either when they wake you up or sleep wears off, you can survive their usual chain.

    Other than that, you'd have to start testing yourself against both robes and LA mages at higher level to see how well your build matches up. Or come up with some other tricks to beat them. End game also needs to specify the quitter version of endgame, or all +10 - +12 gear real endgame.

    4.5k pdef ... at 97 ....lol...I have that amount now and I'm half way through for my 90 gear and refines are still at +3 for ornaments.
    +10 TT90 bow is useless if behind it there are no skills and brain.

    but now I'm gonna gtfo of here and let you tell every1 how awesome archers are. Then I'm gonna ROFL when those poor unfortunate kids will get to 90+ and realize LA is the worst armor you can wear.

    It doesn't take some people until 90+ to realise LA is the worst. But yes, LA is really bad and that's why Wizards will pretty much have an advantage over Archers.

    Our saving grace would be Cash Shopping. Otherwise we can barely hit hard enough over your ridiculous pdef.

    Sumone needs to do their homework. I have argued with this dude before, and he was the one that told me and I jsut quoted him that he had 4.7k about phys resistance with full HH90 and garnet sharded. If u cant tell, i was making fun of his lol phys def, cause mages at that level should have at least 5k+.

    There is no question archers suck and so does light armor. Again, if u did your homework, you would know that when i argued with this kid, it was on a thread where the tables where switched around. I was defending mages and he was on the archers side. I guess ignorance really is a bish eh? So before u start jumping conclusions, is better to think if you really should step foot in an unknown territory.

    And by all means, I will continue to say, endgame archer > endgame wiz. Trust me, it aint that hard for me to wait till a wizzies teles and fuel towards them, aim low, single spark and demon quickshot. 10+ bow explains itself here and mages lol damage when i use magic def pot only tickles my HP not including the fact that I have genie ready with defensive skills such as tree of protection in case anything goes bad. The only thing to save em is a one shot and if they can pull that and are fast enough to know whats coming and react to it, GG Im a ****. But as long as cash shop exist and OP skills such as quickshot are around, dont be expecting very many robes even at end game to be walking by an archer and not paying the toll. After all, Everytime I comlplain archers blow balls and should be revamped, everyone tells me we were only supposed to be robe killers. Argue with me? Argue with the rest of pwi as well?

    Oh and PS. If we wanna talk about what gear really is the worst, look at arcane. The only thing that makes arcane better is your own self buff, Go figure, the only reaso why ur class is so good at end game is cause of your classes skills and buffs. Not really light armors fault archers are so weak. Now give that same light armor to a cleric or a wiz or maybe even a veno, and there u go, u have op classes.

    And yes, I came to understand this, hence why i jumped the gun and csed early on my archer. My cleric,barb,veno,and wiz all have end game material and i never csed till 90 on em. Now my archer, is quite known that for an archer to suceed, gear is what really matters. cant have more than 30% crit without any decent csed gear. Cant have enough damage unless ur bow is +7 or more considering our skills suck and most of em dont have percentage based damage. Cant really survive if u dont + that sh1tty **** light armor along with the crappy defensive skills we get. So those people who complain that I csed, why so jealous? Why u hating? U mad cause i found a way to exploit and use the class the way it was intended to be? Yes, PW purposly made archers a cs class cause they knew most pvpers would roll em. Go figure why in most servers the richest cash shoppers are archers, then mages.

    archers suck below +8 and they are only meh after that. unless you can stack -interval with huge refines and still have a respectable magic defense you are gimp.
