Sage or Demon for my cleric?

Finally, I have to make my sage/demon decision for my cleric at this stage. I am still not sure which way to go after reading dozen and dozen of sage vs demon threads. I've also compared the sage and demon skills on ecatomb.net. I think both of them have its own advantages. What I have acknowledged are that Sage seems to be more supportive and defensive (good for PvE) while Demon is more offensive (PvP oriented).

Here is some info about my cleric:
She is Arcane Vit/Mag build. She has 5.2k+ HP unbuff (121 vit with gears), and I am planning to go for 6k+ HP for Delta. Her base magic attack is 5463 (which is 353 mag with gears). For her lvl 90 gears, I am planning to go for TT 90 gold pants, boots, and ring that give more mag attack comparing to regular TT lvl 90 gears that give extra vit bonuses. She is using a FC weap currently, which I believe can last her till lvl 95 with refinement, then she will switch to LG weap.

My cleric has no problem with PvE. She is not very squishy and is able to keep her squad alive most of the time. BUT when it comes to PvP... *sigh* I am not very skillful and experienced. I am in PvE server and I only turn on PK mode to buff, heal, and rez my friends that do PKs. I rarely attack other Pkers unless they attack me or I see my friends being ganked, and that leads to my main concern because I can see more players are switching to PK mode since there are more high lvls on the server.

If I turned on PK mode, which means I would have a higher chance of getting Pked. I have problems Pking high lvl BMs becuase they have skills to resist my sleep and I get stunned all the time. I also have problems with some sneaky archers that attack me while I am not aware of their existence (e.g. doing WQ). As for high lvl barbs, they just don't die...

So, I really do not know what path is better for my cleric. As you all know, there's no turning back. I am more PvE oriented, but I don't mind doing more PvP because it's a part of the game and it can be fun. I am in a TW faction also. Please give me your best advice supported with logical reasons. Mods/GM's would have to do this....

But, I agree with the above. Seeing as you are mostly support based, Sage would be best for your play style.

from my personal experience as a full support cleric, i'd have to disagree

as full support, i often hated how i couldn't do more to help my fellow players... then when i checked out what all the sage/demon skills did, i decided the absolute best thing a full support cleric could do is go demon

there is primarily one skill addon that swayed my choice, and swayed it absolutely 100%. demon ironheart:

i'm sure alot of the highlevels are aware, all the other classes are constantly saying how much they wish the clerics had a skill for recovering mana... well, there it is

Sage IH is a lot better for support demon IH just feeds the lazy ppl that dont want any costs on themselves just the clerics

They heal for the same BUT Sage adds additional 10% to healing and Demon adds the MP. I would rather heal someone for an extra 10% then give them MP. Sage wins b:cute

meh, personal preference i guess... i spam it enough that the extra 10% wouldn't make a bit of difference. even in multi-aggro aoe situations, i never have issues keeping the barb, DDs, and myself topped off on ih stacks, even without the assistance of charms... and i'm talkin when i was lvl 44 helping in TT b:victory

plus, the extra mp gain from demon would save you ALOT of pots/food

EDIT: now that i think about it, it's kinda sad that i used to outclass the 60+ main cleric in TT runs b:surrender

I think the OP is talking about a way higher lv b:victory Had alot of close calls with bosses after lv90

Like I have mentioned in my thread, I have already read other posts and done research. The is not a pointless topic because demon and sage are both good depend on your cleric's build and playing style. It's an important decision for me to make because there's no turning back and I don't want to mess up my character. I am taking suggestions specifically for my cleric's build. No need to Flame.

If I ever get my cleric to level 89 im going sage. because I can. =O lol also because I want my cleric to be more support based. (I figure I can always swap to my main and blast the living daylights out of the enemy.)
heck it'll be months mayhaps a year or two (probably not 2 years) before the cleric gets to 89. (still working on the wizard)

This isn't gospel, this is just my opinion. I found that Demon is the best way to go for a Cleric. Again my opinion but... extra 10% hp recovery for iron heart isn't that much, when you already have it at level 10 with Sage or Demon and it recovers 1200 HP plus 35% of your base magic attack. WOW! That's A LOT already. And you have so much magic...

Additionally, Better attack is PvE and PvP oriented because it's all about bringing down the enemy as soon as possible for both.

Wield Thunder Demon has a 100% chance to reduce enemy's metal resistance by 30%! For 10 Seconds!

Stream of Rejuvenation Demon gives you an additional 100% physical defense to EQ for a short period of time, but that's still enough for a couple of shots from the mobs. That could really help, while Sage give an extra 30% chi, but we all know that Clerics have a very easy time getting chi since they're constantly healing.

Great Cyclone Demon gives you an extra 600 attack! I know that Sage Plume Shot gives 800 attack. But since Great Cyclone was given at a later level (not by much but still), it gives you enough damage to = Plume shot at level 10 Sage or Demon.

Those are the major reason to go Demon.

Ask high clerics how often they use this. Its basically useless. It also cancels out Ironheart so its very dangerous when you cast it while IH is doing its stacking job.

By the time you hit 90s youll have at least one gear that you can swap on and off that makes a 1k dmg diff.
600 is easily fillable with gear.

Now unless we are dealing with a charmless player who just died, usually when we cast buffs, everybodies HP and MP are pretty much full and ready. Its useful when barbs whoever run out of mp, but seriously, Im not gonna pay millions of coins and sp just so the potless pple can leech on these skills. They get IH and now free mp too? Um no.
