I was really excited when one long quest chain involved some riddles, but they let you just keep picking answers until you got the correct one.

PW's quest are pretty simple and sometimes boring. They could add one small item reward everytime, for example +80 quest: 1 common shard per quest.
    That should motivate people^^

    Or just use pwdatabase/1perfectworld/w.e. c(=<

As to the OP, Cube of Fate is probably the only thing that's not so much a grind fest but chains of riddles and puzzles.

Besides the Cube of Fate which is mostly a waste of Coin at worst or Gambling at best and TW there is nothing about PW that is non-grinding. That is one of its current biggest flaws.

this mmo is all about grinding and having fun while doing it. I'll tell you though grinding can make you learn a lot about your character, besides that the only quest I know of the hidden quests there long boring but with a great reward at the end.
Also there is crazy stone quest if you call that a puzzle type questb:chuckle

Some of the high level instances can be challenging and require well thought out strategies such as rebirth and warsong city.

Modern MMO's are all about grinding in one form or another; if you don't like it i suggest looking for a different type of game

Actually I have to disagree many new MMOs have non grinding instances! I dont mean that grinding is not fun and popular. But including Non grinding instances will make the game apealling to other group of players as well without hurtig the grinding for those who like it!. I am suggesting Stuff like a situation were you you have to light a torch using a pyrogram to do it because you cant see or that an elf have to use her natural wing to get something for the party because an spell prevent other forms of flying. Stuff Like that!

I like the sounds of the sort of quest you are talking about there and would love to see something like it. We do not know what the expansion may bring in that regard but I will keep breathing LOL...

I also agree that not every MMO out there suffers this problem nor do any of them NEED to. Grinding in NO way has to be the only thing you do in an MMO nor does it have to happen at ALL. One very popular MMO has no grinding whatsoever.

I think puzzles have repeatability and spoiler problems, but I have heard the new frostland bosses have a few puzzles for people to solve. TT might have some puzzles also, but most people probably just read guides. And, from personal experience, I can tell you that rebirth alpha really could benefit from some puzzle solving.

I just want to clarify that by puzzle I dont mean just word puzzles I mean situation where you have to use your mind to go foward like the ones I described in my previous post. Also I think that usually this is better to be acomplish on instances and not on the open world so other player dont spoil the puzzle for you squad unless your squad prefer to google the solution. I think I should not mention other games but I will mention two since they are not MMOs and also they are so classic that is almost a game gender on itself: MONKEY ISLAND and ZELDA!

Master I mean no disrespect to the great MMO PWI is so please dont close this thread!

You just suggested non grinding ideas. This however, does nothing against the fact that 99% asian (or not asian) MMORPGs are made under the concept of grinding. Spend more time and more cash, the better you are. Its the truth and reality. The goal of the game is to level up, get stronger, and kick more ****. Yes, there are a few unique MMORPGs that dont have the traditional "pure grind" aspect but, those games are extremely limited.

PS. You said many "new" games have non-grinding aspects. Perfect World isnt "new".

PSS. The new expansion will probably not bring any aspects of grinding relief to the game.

So are you against the idea of suggesting non grinding content be another feature of the game? Please remember that I am in no way suggesting that grinding should be remove. I am suggesting that some non grinding instances (and by non grinding I dont mean without mobs) could be added and could be fun. For example if we get 20 instances having 5 of them with non grinding content. Also These instances dont have to be completly non grinding. The quests to go there could be a grinding one but to get to the grinding areas you could have some non grinding obstacles!

Dont use the ugly underlined text. And, I never said I was against non grinding ideas. Im just saying these instances probably will never ever be implemented, at least for PWI. The only forms of easy exp will be through boutique sales (ex. oracles, scarlet fruit, esos).

PS. BH should be considered "non-grind". Before that, level 40+ was just based on daily CS and grinding.

Point taken! however please keep in mind that I am not suggesting that those instance will be easy ways to get XP. All the contrary. You will have to battle or defeat a huge amount of mobs on them but also you will have to deal with the non grinding obstacles. So actually they will be a harder way to get XP. For example if there is a key to open a door the boss. The key might be in a different place every time you go to the instance. Making you to kill even more mobs to find the key and get to the end!

    Also what is BH?

Bh = bounty hunter. Its a daily quest for level 40+. Theres the chief BH, he orders you to kill specific bosses. You kill the boss, get back to him and he gives you exp.

I realy like the idea of that, like if there was a quest or instance where you had to get 1 of each class because there is something specifc to them in the dungeon. I think fbs could have realy benefited from something like this instead of just having to kill mobs to get to the boss.

Id give them more credit if they were trying at minimum lvl but most just seem to try push it with half strat (commom sense) and half high lvl.

    As for the puzzle quests.
I dont think there are any that are full on puzzle quests

Puzzle grinding quests? Dungeons that force you to have every class due to monster effects like: "Immune to Blademaster" or "Immune to Archer"

Other fun ones to think of "Immune to Glowing Weapons" :p
    Main characters
Celestial Sage Venomancer Zoe - 100
    Sage Barbarian Malego - 91
