Which water pet is best?

I'm lvl 37 and still don't have a water pet, just encountering water quests. I don't mind taking the time to lvl one to use now but am curious as to which is best in the long run. And cutest if it fits in x3.

The general guide would be to tame water pets the same level as you are or just below your level. The reason behind this would be that it just takes tooooooo long to level up a water pet, which requires you to train/grind in a water map.
Unless you swim very fast or fave found a good spot, training in water maps is a big no no in Perfect World.
Also, most of the mobs in PW are land/air base. It makes perfect sense to concentrate your time level these pets up.0 -
Don't waste your time lvling a water pet. You're not gonna use it that often. Just tame one around your lvl every time you need it.0

Don't bother lvling a water pet... If you need to do under water quests, it's better to just ask a friend to help out.Moved to WoW b:bye0

I think a Lv 80 plumpfish is worth getting for the Level 84 quests. Not much use for it after that unless you go fishing. I raised up a Death Dancer for it's speed. It can be fun, but it's usefulness in the game is lacking. Maybe with the expansion it will hold more value. It's nice having a fast pet to apply Howl, or grab aggro off an ambush mob.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0

I leveled a Vortex Crawler to level 36, and loaned it out to guildmates who reached those water quests at 37. I picked it because it's a level 11 turtle which comes with Bash 3. My thinking was if I loaned it and they didn't feed it, the Bash would still let it hold aggro, and it wouldn't gain enough exp to level.
Unfortunately too many people fed it, so now it is level 38 and cannot be used at 37. Maybe it's better just to grab a Saint's Lake Tortoise King (level 27) and use that for the 37 quests. IIRC, the turtles were pretty hardy and the level 36 turtle didn't have much problem tanking level 54 dancers.
The only drawback is it will sit right on top of you and block your view in ways a magmite could only dream of.0 -
Personally, I got a turtle at low-lvl (8 or so), and I still use it. It's around lvl 47, so now 7 lvls behind me. I used it a lot to get rough fur for my crafting skills (from these stupid sharks), so it leveled quite a lot0
