Don't you hate it when...

I have another one.
When you have 5k HP, 19.8k Phys def and you're going against a boss with your herc but you all know the herc may well not survive so you offer yourself as a back up tank. You tell the squad to stop attacking if the herc dies and allow you to get aggro.
What happens? The boss dies and the blademasters keep attacking and you've got no hope in hell of taking aggro back. They then get party wiped, you're the last one standing and then they wonder why they died and start saying "we need a barb" despite how much you try to tell them you're basically built like a barb and you can hold the aggro if they let you.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
b:victory Don't you just love hearing that a veno can't tank?0

I hate it when people tell me it pisses them off when I bramble them because it "causes aggro." wtf ever.

I have a friend-archer who will label you as fail veno after one bramble on her.
I usually bramble archers, cause I know they're gonna pull aggro anyway XD0 -

once, when i was 6x, i had absolutely no barb/bm and went to tank fushma face to face as my pet heal is not enough to keep up. after explaining TWICE i went to the boss. both clerics ran away after pet died. they talked a lot of dirt and kicked me.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

People who don't know how to play blame others because they don't want to admit they are so fail. If they were good players, they would listen to the other player when they say they cannot do something. Doesn't matter who else they've done it with and succeeded in accomplishing whatever, people will have different play styles and build styles and thus when they say they can't do something it's because they know their limits. Players who can admit to their limits are awesome because they are usually very good players and do their best to help their squad and keep their squad alive.
Then again you get completely insane players like me and some of my friends who are willing to try anything at least once just to see if we can do it. b:victory We like to push our limits.0 -
comment for "Sevas - Heavens Tear" quite right about the good ones are usually the ones who know what they can and cannot do, and admit it.
and if it werent for us being at least a little crazy and trying something at least once just to see how well we do at it, how would we ever know what it is we can and cannot do?

well.. reflect, wether on a player or herc, can cause agro.. but not in the context i read in this message here. the person or pet would have to draw agro upon themselves first (either by damage or being in the wrong place at the wrong time) and take melee dmg from a mob, then the returned damage would make a bit of attention toward the person who drew the agro and was taking hits, but reflect/bramble dosent directly generate agro agro like barb's flesh ream, and it certainly isnt gonna make a mob more likely to attack anyone outta the blue than if the person didnt have bramble/reflect on 'emi'm pro all classes, and against none in particular..
but the age old QQ about venos is just that. OLD.
QQ'd about a nix lately? check out this thread n tell me who's "OP" lol..

When BM or wizards or barbs asks if they can "come help me do HH runs"
I'm pretty sure they know i don't need them at all. Bringing them means i get less profit when i have to split mats and the run wont go that much faster since BM/barb/wiz is terrible dd-classes for hh and wizards cant even rush past mobs since they have no hp <.<
IF they really really need help farming a certain mat they should ask about that and be really nice...than maybe i would let them come. Assuming they in any way "help me" by leeching mats in my hh-runs is just lol.0 -
I would think Wizzies would be among the best DD class to take with you since Wizards and Archers both vie for best DPS class. If the Wizzies want to come with a Veno and the Veno is rushing, they should keep HP and speed pots ready. Isn't that a lovely thing though? People getting mad at you or one of the others who does the tanking in a rush when they die. The kicker though, a tank class dying in a rush.0

I disagree with this. Not everyone knows their limits. There's a difference between "Sorry, I can't keep aggro on 6 mobs, watch the boss for casting animations, juggle hp/mp food spam, and keep track of a blinding sand debuff" and "Sorry, despite being an 88 cleric I can't heal a 89 BM on Polearm, we need a second cleric or an 85+ barb". Sometimes people say they can't because they've never tried or they just don't think it can be done. Once you try it, sometimes you end up being wrong when you say you can't. Those who listen every time someone says they can't do something, are the ones that end up with a barb that's undergeared and 10-20 levels over what's necessary to tank something, and 2 clerics to heal them.
Oh and to add to the list... I hate it when people say no to wizards for squads (especially TT).0 -
I fail to see how your examples provide a good argument against my statement. A fail player is a fail player. A coward in instances where they think they need more than they really do. There is a lot to be left to circumstance as well and that will play into the "cans" and "can'ts" of a situation.0
-
If they were good players, they would listen to the other player when they say they cannot do something.
Was the specific part I was referring to. Just blindly listening to someone any time they say they can't do something eventually leads to being unable to do things with anything other than one specific squad type because people often don't know what they can't do until they seriously try.0 -
I agree with Brael on this one. If I listened every single time someone told me I couldn't do something... I wouldn't even be playing this game. The amount of times I've been told I was doing something wrong, or couldn't do something... *Looks down at his signature* Heh. I think I've been told that the entire time I've been playing this game.0

Ohh you've got it all wrong Wolfgore
I only ever party with people I know, I learnt that back when I was in my 20s.
The thing is, people can't get the idea around their heads that venomancers aren't all fricking squishy and only good for herc tanking Dx
It was my guild I was partying with when they got party wiped and started crying for a barb even though I tried to tell them I could tank if only they'd listen..
BTW Isala, I had a level 7x cleric friend who used -% requirement level 30 HA gear. He could also switch to robes. He hardly ever died in pvp o_o;
Last two people that laughed at my heavy build, today and yesterday. I owned them both in duels >.>
Level 9x archer and 9x BM. Moral of the story; never underestimate a HA mage![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Honestly, I've never been told how to be a veno *shrugs*. Sure, I misjudge something and make a mistake now and again but I guess I'm so easy going and nice to everyone I squad with that no-one ever complains. Sometimes people will tell me what they want lured (or, go ahead and lure the other boss too we'll take 'em both down) but that's about it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

You know, that's something I've always wanted to try in FB79. Take down the last two bosses at once. Get a barb next to me with a cleric, so they can take one, and I can take the other... And then have the other 3 party members fire AoEs.
@Reikara I gotta say, you're one of the people that showed me that Heavy was actually viable. Granted, I'm using it on a Mage, and not a Veno... But, that's because I like my Veno too much to change, and I wanted to try uncharted waters.0 -

That's exactly what we did, I brought down Brigand and we were attacking it, the Barb said "Poison grab Linus too, cleric can BB" and we just nuked the **** out of both of them.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Nice. That sounds pretty epic.0 -
Suicide herc Polearm tanking with 2 venos with hercs.... Really not as fun as it sounds...
Was in a party with a cleric that it did not seem to be able to find the purify key to help the barb, which died after first debuff. Than we tanked pole with 2 hercs taking turns getting killed..... There was a bunch of pet food needed after that run...Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Another one.
When I get laughed at for wearing heavy armour. I ask what's so funny then they say "lol u noob cus u die from magic"
I then ask them to duel me and kick their butts, then they complain I ****/cheated whatever >_>.
What really ticks me off is their reason for finding heavy armour so funny. I mean, it's the fricking same as a venomancer who only wears arcane! I could walk up to them and start calling them a noob because physical damage will **** them. But I don't, because I know if they've got any player skill at all they can handle it.
I beat a level 96 demon cleric one time in a duel, he requested that I wear all my heavy gear. So I did, the cleric demon sparked me, used magic and I still beat him[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I find it viable for a veno to wear heavy armor if she can change back to Arcane.
Usually just heavy Venos lack the magic power to be effective or have small HP pool.
Anyways Rei, i'd love to test your build on pvp, pm me ingame![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I believe one sentence will sum that up perfectly...
ROFL PWNT!
*cough* That aside, you'd think people would know by now that heavy mages exist. They're just showing their own stupidity by assuming that you're stupid. Just take pride in knowing that you're doing something idiots think is a bad idea, and being so much more epic than their tiny brains can comprehend. And then go tank something for the lulz. b:victory0 -
Stupid people just have a way of really getting on my nerves...
I mean they say i'm a noob because I wear heavy, so I swtich to my arcane set on right in front of them and say.. I can wear robes too.. but yet, to them .. I still fail cause I wear heavy armour? <

Nope. Any class in the game can get it. As far as I know, the only BM only skill is Balance. I know there are a couple that only BMs and Barbs can get, though, but Alpha Male isn't one of them.0 -

Heh. My friends and I joked around about that after I got that skill. Never made sense to be Alpha "Male" since there are probably several female BMs with it, as well.0
