Quick help on str vs mag

Hi,

My daughter's veno just turned 20, I have a few questions:

* Some guides say to use str for heavy armor builds. Is that good at low levels?

* If you put points into str, how does she wield the weapon from fb19 which requires 61 magic?

* If she can't use the fb19 weapon, what does she wield?

PS - I am NOT interested in pvp. We usually play in groups, but I want to have HIGH survivability == easier play for her.

Thanks.

    Guide is here:
Note of warning: This build is not for "beginners", people who do not spend a lot of time on the game, and/or poor people.

Go mag, full arcane else you'll never be able to use that FB19 weapon. Heavy builds are far better for those who have plans for pvp/pk.

Arcane, or even light armour can give you better surviability, and it's far easier/more flexible stat wise for you. If you're a pve veno, with a decent pet tank, you shouldnt really die too often if you're playing your veno right :).

    Heya,

Well, she would definitely be considered a beginner. Basically, I'm looking for a reasonably decent build for her to use to help her die a bit less. She really likes being in fox mode and getting up in the monster's face. Sometimes, she forgets to revive her pet and just keeps going.

And, she REALLY likes her bunny pet in case that matters...

The light armour build is pretty decent and has some survivability. Its pretty easy to follow and does not cost all that much. Build is 3 magic, 1 str, 1 dex every level. Dex and str allow her to get some decent accuracy and physical damage, while still being able to nuke with magic attacks.

What the guy above me said xD

Light Armor should be good enough even in Fox Form and at the same time good in Human Form too. Heavy Armor is a really complicated Build that requires a Veno to have a Tome, Eqp with +Stats which are hard to find, And most importantly one needs to switch and fwap several equipments, not to mention it gimps the Magical Attack a lot.

In short : Dont go Heavy Armor if you havent ever played a veno or if you are not a Veteran Player with a Legendary Pet to grind. You'll just find it insanely hard and end up quitting the game. A good alternative would be to level to 90 with Pure Magic Build or Light Armor Build and then go ahead and restat to the Heavy Armor build.

And whatever Build Veno you are, if you want to fight in Fox Form more often, Dont forget wearing your PDef Belt + Necklace ^^

Pure Magic Build -> Str = (Level / 2 )+4 ,Stat Rest in Magic
Light Armor Build -> Str = Your Level + 4 ,Dex = Your Level + 4 ,Stat Rest in Magic

Thanks guys, that sounds like a nice simple plan. We'll give that a try.

The damage from fox skills is based on your physical attack score, not magic. If you're going to be meleeing in fox a lot, I'd highly recommend a nice set of might rings to complement your magic rings. It's a bit of a pain to switch, but becomes second nature after a while. The might rings with +mag bonus tend to be very cheap on AH, and will help lessen the hurt of losing the +mag attack bonus on the rings. If your pet only needs infrequent heals, this won't hurt you at all.

Keep some magic rings for when you're doing bosses and need to spam heal and such. Or you're fighting stuff in caster form.

And make sure she uses a magic sword. They do more melee damage than the other magic weapons. Glaives are 2nd, pataka 3rd, wand is worst.

Good advice. Dumb question though - what is 'might'? Do you mean physical damage or strength?
