ok. So i heard that the relation between elements is as follows
water>fire>wood>earth>metal>water

but how does it work when we're against a monster that is metal
and we know metal is weak against fire
but how do we defeat the monster using fire elements.. does our skills have element features? i only see element resistance in the character stats.
so how do we use the elements to fight these monsters?

Im a blademaster and i was fighting a monster (metal) but im doing little damages.

I'll appreciate the help... Thanks

Unless your attacks specifically state that elemental damage is dealt, you are dealing physical damage. The reason you're hitting low is that the enemy's physica defence is high.

Blademaster mainly cause physical damage to others and monster. Elements mostly applies to magic type user example : (Venomancer mainly uses wood elements and Cleric mainly uses metal elements)

You can deal fire damages if you learn and use the skill Drake's Breath Bash. A wizard buffing you with Frostblade would let you cause water damages. And you can imbue elemental shards to your weapons to cause other elemental damages. Until then, you will cause non-elemental damages.

You can look up the monsters attack and defense stats to estimate how hard it would be to beat them (and much more other stuff) here: http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/

    This doesn't look quite right.

I'm don't remember all the element weaknesses, but I do recall that Metal is weak to Fire and Wood is weak to Metal, neither of which lines up with that.

If I am remembering right, and Alerean's post makes me think I am remembering things right:

    water > fire > metal > wood > earth > water > fire > metal > wood > earth > ...

    Water smothers fire.

    Fire melts metal.

    Metal cuts wood.

    Wood grows in earth.

    Earth muddies water.

But "real chinese elements" might work like dannizdd had suggested?

But, also, a monster's element tells you about its defenses. Lots of monsters have attacks which do not match their element.

(^.^) so that explains why fishies die so quickly to earth type spells.
    ME MUDDIED YOUR WATER BWAHAHAHA!
lol I sort of expect wood to be strong against water since trees drink water? O.o'
and Metal comes from earth? and fire makes water? b:shocked oh noes everything me know is wrong~!! xD

Hello. I am a wizard and have been trying to figure out how to use the elemental information to select spells. Fire and water (even earth) is fairly self-explanatory in spell decriptions but how do you know what spells/method of fighting deals metal damage...or shield? Is there anything specific or do you just use one of the other elementals? I.E.
monster has metal affinity-use spells with fire
Monster has wood affinity-use "metal" so what spell inflicts metal damage?
    Thanks in advance b:thanks

As a Wizard, you have access to three elements: Earth, Fire and Water.

The actual cycle goes like this:
Fire mobs are weak to Water
Water mobs are weak to Earth
Earth Mobs are weak to Wood
Wood mobs are weak to Metal
Metal mobs are weak to Fire

    So, you should:
Use Water spells against Fire mobs
Use Earth spells against Water mobs
Use Fire spells against Metal mobs

As for the Earth and Wood type monsters, what spells you use does not matter, as you have no Wood or Metal spells and the other resistances are equal.

Also, Venomancers primarily have Wood damage spells, whereas Clerics have Metal Damage spells. Psychics have Water and Earth spells and Mystics have Wood spells.
I am Olba. Not Ol, not Baze nor Blaze. And even less would I go by Olblaze. Please, take a second to read a person's username.

Thank you very much. It's pretty much what I have been doing but since I am still new, there are so many things I haven't learned.b:puzzled..was afraid I was missing something major
