Relation between equipment level and refining?

I noticed that equipments have a level and I not mean the required level to use it. The level of equipment means how refined the item is or is a different attribute?

it has to do with the type of gem you can imbue it with

Same attribute, different amount. Higher lvl equipment give larger amount of the same type of bonus when refined.

So an equipment can only be refined once?

Well, first off, you DO NOT want to refine at your level, so not worth it...wait until at least 60, probably higher

Also, equipment can be refined up to 12 times (but it gets ridiculously expensive)

When i was 60 was the first time I refined and that was only my weapon to +1.

When I got my level 70 gear I got the weapon to +3 the rest of the gear was +2 max.

Gonna get my bow to either +4 or +5, it starts to get mad expensive.
The only way to win is to quit. b:bye

I get it now thanks! By the way the type of celestone (earth, human, earth) makes any difference when refining? What should I do at low levels with the celestones and celestones shards? Store them in the bank?

Also I would like to know if refining could give bonus to primary statistics (STR,DEX,VIT,MAG) or just to sencundary ones like HP,MP,pdef, etc? I ask because imbued gems as far as I can see only give bonus to secondary ones!

The celestones you mentioned (human, earth, etc) are traded at the gem merchant for mirage celestones. It is mirage celestones you require for equipment refining. (1 for armor, 2 for weapons)

    Weapon (excluding magical) = p.atk
    Magical Weapon = m.atk
Helm, Body, Legs, Hands, Feet, Cape = HP
Magic Rings, Elemental Neck & Belt = m.def
Might Rings, Physical Neck & Belt = p.def
Ethereal Neck & Belt = evasion

Note: Imbuing gems for the most part is secondary skills BUT there are grade 12 gems (thus far only obtained from aniversary event) with +VIT, & other grade 12 gems in the database with other primary attributes that have never been released into the game.

By the way why some items name are purples or have stars before the name? Also when and item says 2 sockets it means that it have to open sockets or 2 sockets in total?

Purple text or 3 star gear offers the best base stats of that particular type of equipment, i.e. a purple ring will have slightly more magic attack, or purple wrist bracers will offer more magic and physical defence.

The sockets refer to open sockets. All armor can have 4 maximum, weapons 2. Sockets can be added with a cash shop item called socket stones and the amount will vary based on the item level and which socket you are adding, i.e. 2nd socket, 3rd socket so on.

    White has no mods
    Blue has mods
Purple has more mods and higher stats
Green is even higher than that
    Gold even higher
    Red (orange?) is the highest

Just a general guideline for gear quality, though a good blue item can be better than a bad purple one. All TT gear is green, along with the lower end frost/lunar glade stuff. Molds/other nice things are gold. Stars designate quality, green+ is just a set amount of stars and won't change, purple is all 3 star, 1 star gear drops from mobs or is made with crafting skills, 2 star gear is better than 1 star and worse than 3 star, it only comes from crafting (randomly get it when making an item).

Wish I'd read this before I tried refining my armor with my first mirage celestone. It failed, so I lost my stone. Made me mad enough to decide that celestones should be called sellastones! That's what I will do with them from now on. Must be other ways to kick/save butt. b:chuckle

Grade 13 & 14 actually. Though they can be infused into grade 12+ equipment. But those are the Attack Level & Defense Level + gems. I was referring to the Primeval Stone & Stone of Savant (both are Vit +10 when infused into armor) and they are both grade 12.

Here's the wiki entry on it, but you're gonna get more for your money if you just use the dragon orbs.

I wonder if the topic being a week inactive counts as a necro.
